I thought the machine would be better than it is based on the reviews I saw . I find it jams quite easily even being well within the number of maximum sheets . The tray feeder is hardly worth using as it jams up ( seems to try and feed to many sheets through - even though the paper is without staples) and the paper jam has to be released manually. The reverse button hardly works for most jams. End up using manual feed most times which defeats the object of the expense of this machine compared to my previous machine ( manual feed only) which did a better job but had a smaller hopper.

I've been using this shredder for just over a week, and so far it's performing well. No paper jams, smooth operation in both auto and manual feed. I like being able to put in a stack of paper and leave it to do its thing. This is so much better than having to manually feed a few sheets at a time when you have a fair amount to shred. I also like the pull-out bin - it's lightweight and easy to handle, unlike some smaller shredder models I've encountered where I had to lift the entire (heavy) shredding component up off of the bin to empty it. One thing that could be improved is the part of the bin inside the front handle - it's open to the inside of the bin, which allows some paper dust to come out during shredding. Seems there would be less mess if they closed that ... MoreI've been using this shredder for just over a week, and so far it's performing well. Also, the top front edge of the bin is not quite flush with the bottom edge of the machine's front panel; it sticks out a little, which leaves another space for paper dust to escape, and, it's just aesthetically not so great. I don't know if this is an issue only on my machine or all of them. It's not a deal breaker, but definitely something Fellowes should look to improve.

Since I've dealt with questionable shredders in the past, I had my reservations. I'm so glad I was wrong. This shredder is a BEAST. It quietly tackled our overwhelming pile of documents with zero jams or annoying overheating. My favorite feature is the loading tray. Literally just stack your documents, close the lid & sit back and watch the magic happen. Shredding in bulk has never been so easy. I'm also a big fan of the compact design. My only suggestions would be to add wheels & I did notice that the letter shredder feature was a little slow. Other than that, this tough little shredder is a great find. Super easy to assemble & operate, generous waste bin, and gets the job done. I will definitely recommend this to friends looking for a reliable & powerful shredder. ... MoreSince I've dealt with questionable shredders in the past, I had my reservations. I bought this machine about 4 weeks to replace our old Rexel unit of similar capacity. The Rexel was all plastic casing and metal blades and lasted for about 10 years. The Fellowes machine, whilst it does its job, does not all way "pickup" paper from auto tray. The basket for catching the shredding is made of corflute and very weak. The Rexel unit was all p I hope Fellowes keeps this a a part in Australia and does it under warranty. The first 2 photos are the Fellowes unit with plastic clips holding it together, the last 2 photos of the Rexel plastic bin.
This machine appears to be well made with big beefy blades and a large capacity tub. It cuts quickly and is relatively quiet as compared to my old shredder but is still noisy. My disappointment comes from the fact that the 150 sheet capacity is only true if the paper is completely flat to start with. It can’t have been folded or crinkled at all. Most of my shreddable items have come in through the mail where they’ve been folded into mailing envelopes so they aren’t appropriate for the high volume shredding feature and have to be hand fed through the slot. The slot is quite narrow and works ok for junk mail or stiffer items but it’s hard to slide floppy or single papers into it. Also, the on off switch is located on the middle of the back so you have to bend over ... MoreThis machine appears to be well made with big beefy blades and a large capacity tub. Also, the on off switch is located on the middle of the back so you have to bend over every time you need to turn it on or off and the shredder is fairly short so you have to bend down quite far to reach it. If you have a bad back or a lot of shredding to do this can be pretty hard on your spine.
The auto feeder works well which was my main reason for ordering this model. It is very nice to hit the button and walk away from a stack of papers. The manual feeder can’t handle too many sheets at a time. I guess that is what the auto feed is for.The shredder is quite loud. It is best to start the auto feed and walk away so it is not so loud.It is a cross cut shredder, but I wish the pieces were a little bit smaller. Sometimes you can still read words on the cut sheets.Overall I am happy a few weeks into having this shredder. I think my ideal shredder would be at a much higher price point than this machine. Good value for the price.
I was looking for a shredder to take care of several bankers boxes of old documents my family had accumulated over the years. I found this one to be comparatively priced to other units and picked it up. The packaging was nice and no assembly was required, just plug it in and go after reading the directions. I went through 10 boxes before I decided to write this as I wanted to make sure it would live up to the abuse I was about to unleash on it. The entire time I used it, it did not miss a beat. This thing absolutely blew me away. Box after box of paper, documents stapled together, cd`s, paperclips, this thing shreds it all into a very nice confetti. Unit is a bit heavy and kind of loud, but I also take that as a sign it`s well built. I can not recommend the unit ... MoreI was looking for a shredder to take care of several bankers boxes of old documents my family had accumulated over the years. I opened up the shredder and immediately brought it to my office. I wasn't expecting such a 'serious' shredder .. I only have junk mail, old drawings, and a few trade magazines in my recycling bin. After seeing that none of this stuff provided a challenge to the 150C, I went to co-workers' offices and took all their recycling. I've never seen a shredder with an auto-feed function, so this was the first thing I tried. Wow! What a great feature! I put a pile of papers, closed the lid and walked away. It ran for a few minutes, and everything was shredded. Clean up was easy, although there was a good amount of paper dust when I opened up the bin..I kept it in my office for a week and my only real complaint was the size. It's way more than I would ever need for my day ... MoreI opened up the shredder and immediately brought it to my office. I wasn't expecting such a 'serious' shredder .. Clean up was easy, although there was a good amount of paper dust when I opened up the bin..I kept it in my office for a week and my only real complaint was the size. It's way more than I would ever need for my day to day shredding needs, so a smaller unit would suffice. I understand why it is this size based purely on its functionality. The controls are easy to use and easy to understand - very intuitive. Its also very quiet considering some of the shredders I've heard in the past. This is definitely and all purpose, hardcore paper shredder. I can't imagine needing anything more than this in any type of casual office environment. Even Hillary Clinton could have destroyed every last bit of evidence using this type of shredder!
I am replacing a Swingline Shredder. This shredder has worked sufficiently. It's harder than other shredders we have to manipulate the autofeed to turn on. It shreds cards with metal really well. The paper bin is made of fairly flimsy corrugated plastic rather than solid plastic. The front of the bin seems flimsy when I push it to. Overall I'm satisfied but I have only had it two weeks and haven't used it much yet.
Arrived when expected, box with padding protected contents well during shipping. Set up was easy and it fits under my desk, I just pull it out a bit when I need to use it. The shredder is easy to use, just lift top, lay stacked paper inside, close lid, and push button. It isn't quiet, it does make a humming noise when shredding, but it isn't so loud that it bother me. The shredded paper piles up in the front of the bin, so periodically I have to open and push the shredded paper toward the back of the bin, that way I don't have to empty it as often. This is a huge step-up from our old shredder! I highly recommend at this point in time, but I've only had it a week. I hope it holds up for a long time.
