Over time the pin stops aligning and spent ages trying to get it to work again before having to replace the shredder. This shredder has a door that opens at the front which makes the job of emptying it so much easier. Seems very well built too.

Really annoyed that this shredder has broken within days of me getting it. I followed the advice on reviews (i.e. Only put max 4 sheets in (rather than 5 as the manual suggests) and still my paper has jammed. Have managed to un-jam the paper now, but the shredder function is no longer working (only "R" reverse function still works). Very frustrating and not sure I'll be able to get a refund as we dismantled the device ourselves to un-jam the paper.

I bought this shredder recently and I am extremely happy with how it functions. Its size was bigger than I'd imagined but I love that it gives up to 10 minutes shredding time with each use. I have already put it to good use shredding many documents with ease.

Every other shredder I’ve owned was designed so you had to take the shredding part off the basket to empty it and try to realign the basket with the safety release catch when putting it back on. Over time the pin stops aligning and spent ages trying to get it to work again before having to replace the shredder. This shredder has a door that opens at the front which makes the job of emptying it so much easier. Seems very well built too.

It was a case of having to try to squash the shreds down each time before using the shredder. This problem no longer exists, as the replacement is a cross cut shedder which cuts the paper into small sections which settle flat on each other. Additionally the collection bin has a window to see how full it is becoming, and can be withdrawn easily to empty on the rollers situated on its underside - also no need to remove the cutting head as this remains in place on the casing when the bin is removed, and the shredder remains ... I have only put 6 to 8 sheets through at any one time, and the shredder copes with this without an strain. Obviously only more future use will tell if this continues to work as well - but so far my experience would certainly make me to recommend this shredder for home use.
The instructions say the maximum you can shred each pass is five A4 sheets of paper and the maximum width of each sheet is 220mm. However, I find one A4 sheet per pass makes for a clean shred whereas two sheets or more sounds like too much has been put in the head. Therefore, I recommend using this device at one sheet at a time. The machine is economical, and you will look after the machine better at the rate I suggest. The P-25S is for committed users only and is best for personal use rather than business.
I've only had this shredder a few days but I've already noticed how powerful it is compared with our previous old shredder. It's relatively quiet for a shredder. The instructions recommended applying a lubricant whenever the large bin is emptied but it was disappointing that no oil was included. It is easy to see when the bin is nearly full, and easy to empty.
After a lot of searching I found Fellowes powershred and very pleased that I did.It's powerful and after it's done each shred it runs for another second approximately and that clears everything away from the shredder so when you empty you get nothing falling down when you open the bin, so no mess. Think they have thought of everything it's a perfect machine.
I had the shredder a week and it kept stopping, so I voided the warranty and opened it up.The shredder cutter/roller opens up into the whole internal compartment, meaning that paper, dust and bits, from the blades gets around the cogs and motor, causing it to stop. It also wraps around the blades and roller, causing even more issues with feeding paper. I tried to add a photograph, but the action failed several times.The 'use v rest' time is also a joke; you are lucky to get 30 seconds use against 5 minutes rest, or else it overheats (it gets very hot) and stops. This overheating was probably exacerbated by the paper jamming the rollers, causing excessive resistance for the motor to overcome.Overall, I am annoyed that I bought this and that it could be so ... Came well packed. Seemed a bit flimsy until collection box fitted. Certainly very quiet (compared with my old machine), & has a large capacity collection box.Need to not let collection box get too full or the shreds will roll back into the feed slot & jam it, which is a pain to clear. Can be messy to empty as the "hanging" shreds fall out when the collection box is removed, & it is fiddly to try to dislodge them with the collection tray half out.Overall a quiet & useful product, at a good price, which I am pleased I purchased.
we were disappointed with previous purchases, so we decided go for an improved version.We had quite a backlog of shredding we needed to do, and this does the job very wellyou just need to be careful that the bin doesn't overfill otherwise you will find that the shredder gets blocked
