Only criticism is that the width of the shredded paper (8 mm) is wider than I expected, was hoping to use it for fire bricks afterwards.

Arrived well packed and Boxed.Worked straight away.I'm surprised that the shredder assembly is not the same size as the bucket.There is a 2 cm 'open gap' both at the front and the rear.Just appears badly planned design!I hope it is safe?????

Really annoyed that this shredder has broken within days of me getting it. I followed the advice on reviews (i.e. Only put max 4 sheets in (rather than 5 as the manual suggests) and still my paper has jammed. Have managed to un-jam the paper now, but the shredder function is no longer working (only "R" reverse function still works). Very frustrating and not sure I'll be able to get a refund as we dismantled the device ourselves to un-jam the paper.

We have had a previous Fellowes shredder in my home office for a decade, and it gave good service, generally managing 4-5 sheets at a time. My office closed 3 years ago, and it finally gave up the ghost.This one is noisier, and seemed to jam within a day. Reversing did not clear it. Not wishing to dismantle it, which would void the warranty, I left it for a week till I had time to pick out the pieces (about 40 minutes work) and this unjammed it. We concluded that the advertising saying that it could handle 5 sheets at a time was an overstatement! If it jams again, may have to contact the supplier.
The Fellowes Powershred P 25 S is one powerful little machine, so compact, portable and light yet shreds 5 pages at a time in a heartbeat. Reasonably priced. I ordered through Harvey Norman and was it was promptly delivered in 2 days. Just wished I had this helpful machine years ago!
You only get what you pay for and although it does it's job, it is rather noisy and the shred is larger than I imagined. It does struggle a bit with 5 sheets. Having said that, if you just want a home shredder, it does the job effectively.
The instructions say the maximum you can shred each pass is five A4 sheets of paper and the maximum width of each sheet is 220mm. However, I find one A4 sheet per pass makes for a clean shred whereas two sheets or more sounds like too much has been put in the head. Therefore, I recommend using this device at one sheet at a time. The machine is economical, and you will look after the machine better at the rate I suggest. The P-25S is for committed users only and is best for personal use rather than business.
I had the shredder a week and it kept stopping, so I voided the warranty and opened it up.The shredder cutter/roller opens up into the whole internal compartment, meaning that paper, dust and bits, from the blades gets around the cogs and motor, causing it to stop. It also wraps around the blades and roller, causing even more issues with feeding paper. I tried to add a photograph, but the action failed several times.The 'use v rest' time is also a joke; you are lucky to get 30 seconds use against 5 minutes rest, or else it overheats (it gets very hot) and stops. This overheating was probably exacerbated by the paper jamming the rollers, causing excessive resistance for the motor to overcome.Overall, I am annoyed that I bought this and that it could be so ... Works really well! Just need to make sure you empty it regularly. If you let the bin get too full, the new shreds can't get through and it can clog up the machine.
Purchased this approx 6 mths ago, kept jamming and residue from paper kept blocking it from operating properly, spent more time trying to unblock it than shredding paper. Its now somewhere at the refuse tip. I guess you get what you pay for. Will try another bigger model.
