Fellowes Saturn 3i A3 Laminator

We purchased this laminator because the previous model wrapped the sleeve and contents around the roller and heating wires and cooked everything. Here's hoping this one performs the way it is supposed to without any glitches. So far, so good. Excellent service and prompt delivery from PB Tech as always.

Disappointment

I must've gotten a bad one because this laminator curls the edges of the sheets. I've never had one that worked this poorly and cost more than any others that I've tried. I would not recommend it

Excellent

Good for home and office. Easy to use. Comes with 10 x A4 80 Micron Laminate Pouches. Really quick to heat up (1 min). Small footprint and does not take up much room. The laminate works even when you use multiple prints in one pouch. 80 microns is a good thickness for everyday requirements. Really pleased with this laminator. We chose it over others because it has a release button (not used so far), hot and cold laminating, accepts three different pouch thicknesses, auto shut off.

Fair

This is a good laminator, but as I have found out, not compatible with GBC laminator pouches. I laminated an 80 micron GBC pouch on this machine at 125 micron temperature and got ok results, although not consistent. Turn the temperature any lower than that and the GBC pouch will cure with dots all through it. When I did use the 80 micron GBC pouch on 125 micron temperature on this machine the result was the photographs were sharper and more vivid than with a Fellowes 80 micron pouch. So I think GBC may be a better laminator if you are looking to laminate photos or coloured posters and you really want the images to 'pop'.

From order to Delivery-Lightning fast!

The next day delivery of my Saturn Laminating machine helped finish my document preservation project days before the deadline. Four hours of continuous use without a hitch.It worked so well that the complimentary supply of thermal pockets provided with the machine were used in less than an hour.The sale price from Staples made this and exceptional buy.However, at its normal retail over the counter price, I would expect a machine of this caliber to use a wider mouth. The 12" mouth is the only drawback to this machine. Aligning your document for laminating needs an extremely steady hand to keep it straight and insure that your document does not get the unwanted curls or wrinkles in it.Aside from this, it is an excellent machine with ample rollers for any project.

Good for Home and Office

Quick to heat up, easy to use. Works so much better than the one I was previously using. The only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is because it’s a little difficult to get the paper perfectly straight and that causes the edges to fold.

Love this Laminator

My GBC H320 finally died after 12 years. So I found the Fellowes Saturn 3i 125.Love it! Only had it a couple of weeks so I don't know how long it will last.Works great for Business Cards to 11 x 17 posters. I use Oregon Laminations laminating pouches, 5ml. Items laminate great, no bent corners or bubbles. There is a slight bend to the posters, but no big deal. Just place on a flat table with a book for something while still warm and let the laminated item cool. It is a little slower than the GBC, but I am a home laminator so speed for me is not important. but quality is. You don't need a carrier, so that means you should run some card stock through while hot to clean the rollers. Fellowes makes laminator cleaning sheets if you don't have cardstock. Not as hardy as Scotch

Our preschool/office's first laminator was an earlier version of this Fellowes Saturn3i 125. It started jamming after a few months of use. We then switched to $50 Scotch, which lasted us 2 years before it started smoking. Now, we laminate often, so we really put these laminator to good use. When I started researching for affordable laminator that people recommend, I came across the updated version of our original laminator: Saturn3i 125. We're sad to say that it did not live up to its hype. The first one we ordered jammed a few times within a month, so we took it back for an exchange. The second one we ordered eventually stopped working after 4 months.

Quick and Easy Laminator

This was exactly what I was looking for. I had been toying with the idea of getting a laminator for a few years, but, didn't think it was necessary. But, I decided to treat myself to one and this one was perfect. I was able to make key tags for a cross key ring that my husband made for our church bazaar, and they turned out very nice. The laminating materials are of good quality and I was able to produce a product that look professional . . . .

Wonderful Product Overall

I love my new laminating machine, it gets the job done, heats up 10x faster than my old one, and I love the option of thermal or cold laminating. The only downfall is that every once in a while, it will stop in the middle of laminating my page, and beep at me like it is done. I then have to shut it off, pull out my paper, and laminate it again. Still looks fine after, and this has only happened a few times over 3 months of heavy usage. It seems to only do it after it has been on and laminating for an hour or more. Overall it works great, and I am very happy this is the one I purchased.
