An Amazing Little Amp

Love running my Strat thru my Fender Deluxe amp on stage, but could never get my Taylor acoustic to sound right going thru the Deluxe. Now I play my Strat thru the Deluxe, and A/B my Taylor into the Fender Acoustasonic 40 and my Taylor sounds like it's supposed to. Also, the Acoustasonic 40 is small and light, but sounds fantastic! And it's reasonably priced. Very pleased with my purchase.

Excellent Sound and Great Value!!!!

Great purchase!! Perfect for my singer/songwriter ambitions (dreams). All my acoustic guitars sound great clean or with effects. Vocals in channel 2 are clear and separate controls work great to mix instrument and vocal. Have used a smaller amp with lower watts to achieve some effects in channel 1 and then boost signal with the Fender. Sounds great either way!!! My cats have tickets to all my shows....they are working on holding up lighters for encores. (No opposable thumbs). Wonderful amp though in all seriousness. So glad I have it even if I am playing small venues (living room) and no humans are in the audience. Just think what you could accomplish if people were in attendance and you had this amp. Music is magic.

Had an excellent experience with this vendor. The amp was promptly shipped and received in perfect shape. Packaging was excellent. Amp worked perfectly and sounds great. ProAudioStar was the only company I could find that offered this amp at this price for a long enough time for me to make up my mind. (I had to go out and compare prices on similar products and get hands-on experience with it). Seems like an excellent vendor; would do business with them again. Thanks, ProAudioStar.J.

For the money it is awesome
6 January 2021

I was unsure about buying this as the internet is filled with reviews and comparisons between this and the mini loudbox. I have had this amp for 24 hours now and would say at the price it is a very nice piece of gear. I own several acoustic guitars and have a nice tube amp, a couple small solid state practice amps and two PA systems/mixing boards, one of them a nice behringer setup I use to record at home. Does this match the sound of the high end behringer speakers? Not quite, but for a plug and play for small gatherings and just practicing playing while singing through a microphone, this thing is awesome. You really get the feel and sound of singing through a PA with this so it is really good for practice. The only downside I have seen is when I crank the volume up I get horrible string swipe that I don't get on my nicer amps. This is partly my fault, but it is noticeable at higher volumes. I have been practicing with the guitar at about 10 oclock and vocals at about 9 and it sounds amazing. I absolutely do not regret buying this and would recommend it to others.

Good acoustic amp with quality sound.
24 January 2022

As acoustic amps go, this one has good sound quality and is very functional but my Acoustic A15V blows it out of the water when it comes to the best acoustic sound. Not even close. A chorus effect is a more favorable effect than reverb when it comes to an acoustic guitar. The Fender does better with the mic input and also has a balanced output which the Acoustic does not. I also like the detachable power cord. If I had to get rid of one, it would be the Fender. I would have given it a 5 star rating if I had not compared it to other acoustic amps.

It's a little guy.

If I had some GI Joe's, this could be their Fender "stack"....it is that small. In my 15x12 room it sounds fine but highly doubt it would be good enough to go to an open mic night or play some outdoor acoustic gig. Maybe, but I have not done that yet. I mean yes, it seems to have some "power" but it is just so small. Almost resembles a toy. photo of it next to my Alvarez.

Loudbox Mini killer?
4 May 2017

Narrowed my acoustic amp search to two: Fishman Loudbox Mini and the Acoustasonic 40. Was able to try out the Fishman but there were no Acoustasonic 40s to demo, as it was a new amp. Ultimately decided to order in the Fender, mostly because of the significantly lower price. It took a while, but I finally got it this week.First impressions: No buyer's remorse here... this is a great amp! It is ridiculously light and portable. The controls are simple and the built in reverb is more than decent. It took about 2 minutes to find a very good reverb setting for my vocals on one channel and the right amount of reverb for guitar on the second. Haven't touched the reverb since.Speaking of controls, the dials on each channel offer a lot of variation for vocals or guitar. Haven't touched the reverb since.Speaking of controls, the dials on each channel offer a lot of variation for vocals or guitar. If you have a personal sound preference, you'll probably find it. As for volume, while I have not gigged with it yet, I have a large jam room and have yet to get the volume knob up to 1/4 on either guitar or vocals. It's capable of more volume than I expected and more than sufficient for my needs. So is the Acoustasonic 40 a Loudbox Mini killer? Well, the Mini's been the champ of this class for a few years now, so it's obviously a very good amp. But let's compare: The Fender has 20 watts less power, but twice the speakers, costs not much more than half the price, and is lighter. It HAS to be more durable than the Mini cosmetically and being a Fender, the amp itself is likely to be very reliable. If I had a Loudbox Mini I would not replace it, but if I were trying to decide between the two I'd definitely save some money and go with the Fender. Oh wait, I already did that :-).Bottom line - the bang for buck on this amp is fantastic.

Might be the perfect amp
21 July 2017

The Fender Acoustasonic 40 40W 2x6.5 Acoustic Guitar Amplifier is a wonderfully portable and good sounding acoustic amp. I tested the Fender Acoustasonic 15 15W 1x6 and I thought it had a good sound but I didn't want the Chorus effect I wanted the Reverb effect and the 40 had reverb. It cost more to get the 40 over the 15 but I got the reverb, more power, and a nice tone for the price. Except for the reverb the 40 s a bare bones no frills amp and that's what I wanted. By the way It is just as portable as the 15.The quality of the amp is realized as soon as you open the box. It is well-built and quite attractive. It has a big sound for such a small package. I played a bit then adjusted the EQ on the guitar. When that sounded good I flavored that tone with a bit of reverb and that was good enough to get me through the afternoon. I have other settings for different songs or environments but this was a good place to start.I plugged a microphone in and that is a separate channel that requires its own EQ. There is no balance control except your ear. It also works well when you plug in other devices for backing tracks, etc.Overall, a great amp for a reasonable price.

So far so good!
10 November 2021

I've been jamming with a neighbor for a few months now and even though it's just the two of us on acoustic guitars in his living room (playing covers from Simon & Garfunkle, The Beatles, The Milk Carton Kids, etc.), he really likes to be amped up. I grabbed this amp when it was on sale and I'm really happy with it. It's easy to transport (across the street) and simple to use. This is my first acoustic amp, so I don't know if this is normal, but the tone and volume controls do seem to lack subtlety. Anything past 1 or 2 for tone seems way overboard, and anything past 3 or 4 on the volume knob feels dangerously close to feedback. It'll take some practice, I think, to really unlock this amp's potential, but it has made a really good first impression on me.

You can't go wrong with this amp.
23 September 2022

It seems that Fender makes an amp for every use, want and need, and this one satisfies on numerous levels.I'm setting up a studio in my one car garage/mancave, I've already warned my neighbors, who so far seemamenable, and I have placed a Marshal MG15 series DFX (a gift from a friend) and now this Fender Acoustasonic 40 which can get quite loud for the space involved. The Fender is, so far, strictly for practice and the fact that I can add a mic is both impressive and very handy in such a small and handy amp. I brought it home only last week and have explored several tonal settings and, having just scratched the surface, I can't wait to see what else it can do. And it is, so far, obviously perfect for small venues. So, as it happens, it seems I'm more than a bit ... MoreIt seems that Fender makes an amp for every use, want and need, and this one satisfies on numerous levels.I'm setting up a studio in my one car garage/mancave, I've already warned my neighbors, who so far seemamenable, and I have placed a Marshal MG15 series DFX (a gift from a friend) and now this Fender Acoustasonic 40 which can get quite loud for the space involved. And it is, so far, obviously perfect for small venues. So, as it happens, it seems I'm more than a bit of a Fender fan. In 2006 I bought a Fender Sunburst Stratocaster (a primary must have guitar.) and a Blues Jr. amp; and then a few years later, I added a Butterscotch Blond Telecaster (a longtime dream realized) and eventually, a Fender 200, 200W acoustic amp to complement my Taylor 614ce for in house use [all bought through Guitar Center with the help of Nick], (Neither of which have made it to the man cave. Yet.) So, do your due diligence, read the reviews, go to Guitar center and ask to try one out, and if they don't have one on site, I'm sure that, if they have a manager as good as Nick Giordano at the store in Murrieta, Ca., they will order one for your trial pleasure and you won't be sorry.
