Overall:Good god this thing is sweet! I've always had MIM Jazz Basses, and thought they were great. Especially after doing some upgrades like tuners, pickups, fret dress, etc... I decided to treat myself and upgrade to a US made Fender last week, and WOW what a difference!!! Night and day! The details and playability are unmatched. Pickups sound amazing too. And that case! I've spent years telling myself the extra cash for an American made one was ridiculous and unnecessary. I was 100% wrong. If you're on the fence about it, just go for it. You won't regret it.

Back in 2006 I bought a Fender Deluxe Jazz MIM bass. This was a great bass, however I regrettably pawned it. Years down the line I bought a MIM Fender P Bass, which was great, however I was not fully satisfied. I decided to finally get my dream bass, and that is exactly what the American Professional II Jazz is! It came in within 2 days in its case, and I fell in love the second I opened it and saw the Dark Night color and beautiful maple fret board! This bass is a dream to play, and will be the go to bass I plan to play for years to come. I cannot get over the comfort of the neck, the quality of the tuners, and most importantly the classic Fender tone that has inspired musicians from Jaco Pastorius to Geddy Lee, and so fourth. Every Bass Player needs this bass!

I was very pleased on how this American Jazz bad played and sounded. Its light weight due to the body composed of pine was easy for gigs. The sound is punchy with clear highs and deep thumping bass. Great for slap indeed.

I have been playing bass for a bit over a year now, and wanted to upgrade my starter instrument (a Hofner Ignition). I chose a Fender jazz bass for its versatility and comfort. The American Professional II jazz bass sounds great! It has a great tone for slap bass with both pickups and volume turned all the way up. The neck pickup soloed can do a respectable P bass imitation.I found the feel of the neck to be supremely smooth and comfortable. The mystic surf green finish is very impressive, though not for everyone, I'm sure. The appearance of the bass really changes based on lighting. It really looks stunning paired with the maple fretboard.I bought this bass hoping that it would be the one and only other bass (besides my Hofner) I would need or want going ... MoreI have been playing bass for a bit over a year now, and wanted to upgrade my starter instrument (a Hofner Ignition). So far (four months) I am completely satisfied with my purchase.
Looks, plays and sounds superb. Fit and finish is first class. Best neck ever. The new V mod pickups are really great. Best Jazz Bass ever. I can’t find anything negative about it. Thanks to Adam at the Norwich store.
The Fender Jazz bass guitar is excellent. Feels super easy in the hands. Has that fender growl, which is awesome. Has beautiful contours on body and plays like a dream. This one’s a keeper forever.
I'm a semi-pro musician that plays bass guitar in a Baptist Church and in two Reggae Bands, ministering and performing every weekend all year round. My instruments range from a 1998 Modulus Q5, Ernie Ball Sting Ray HH 5 from 2020, to a Peavey Foundation 2000 5 string, and a few in between. I played a dear friend of mines passive US made Jazz Bass, not sure of the era, and fell in love with the tone and simplicity. I only wanted a high-end American made instrument and purchased this bass sight unseen. All I can say is PERFECTION! For me at least. First, Fender has really outdone themselves here. This bass is well balance when standing, a tiny bit neck heavy when sitting, but I have worse, and even those don't bother me. Everything else is Ideal. neck feel, flexible ... MoreI'm a semi-pro musician that plays bass guitar in a Baptist Church and in two Reggae Bands, ministering and performing every weekend all year round. Everything else is Ideal. neck feel, flexible tone from these pickups, etc., and not to mention Gorgeous. I must say, "I have no affiliation with Fender whatsoever". In fact, once vowed to never buy a Fender. I won't get into why, but we both have a record of our correspondence. That said, at this point, I Will Be purchasing a new Fender P-Bass shortly, and only from, from Guitar Center.
Thank you SweetWater and THANK YOU Nathaniel. Once again making this purchase as Dream. This is the one Bass every Bass player NEEDS to try. The tones that are flowing out of this bad boy ….just directly into my Boogie head and 410 SVT makes me speechless. I cannot wait to Roll this bad boy on to some new songs and live Tour. Directly out of the box it was setup like a Dream. These pickups are insane and the Slim C neck is one of my favorites. Fender is the way to go. Always love a variety. But this one is my all time favorite.
I ordered the Fender professional II jazz bass. Sunburst with the rosewood fingerboard through the Guitar Center online. I had it delivered to the store. When I got it home , I found out the neck pickup didn't work and the (A) string was loose in the bone nut slot. It was returned.
Overall:I have a lot of high-end basses, and I never really cared for Fender guitars until I played one of these. This thing sounds better than any other thing I have. I actually sold my Ric so I could buy this. The neck is fast and the string spacing perfect. Has a nice low action after I set it up. It sustains for day. I could not believe how versatile it is. I played a bunch before buying one from zZounds. I tried a made in Mexico jazz bass and I could feel the difference in quality, so I felt it was worth the extra money. You will not regret buying this bass.
