Originally debuting in July 1968, the Telecaster Thinline was reimagined in late ‘71 around a pair of Wide-Range humbucking pickups mounted to a reshaped curvy pearloid pickguard. This souped-up second-generation design had its first full year of production in 1972, making it Fender's first six-string with humbucking pickups and the first Tele featuring six adjustable bridge saddles. The semi-hollow ash construction was originally created to produce lighter instruments from heavy ash timber. Authentic Wide-Range humbucking pickups utilise resurrected CuNiFe magnets, essential for recreating the sonics of the originals. True to 1972 production specifications, this Thinline includes a “Bullet” style truss rod nut, three-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt mechanism, “F” stamped tuners, and 6-saddle string-through body hardtail with bent steel saddles, available in Aged Natural, 3-Colour Sunburst, and Lake Placid Blue finishes over the semi-hollow ash body.
