Simplicity itself, with great tone and a big sound from a small package.I've a few amps, ranging from heads and cabs to combos, but had a hankering for a small tube combo - one that could do a rehearsal if needed. This has a great sound with a 335 and a Telecaster, and so easy to dial in a fantastic tone - infact hard to get a bad tone.Plenty loud enough, I would happily take this out and gig it. I love the fact you can unplug the internal speaker and plug it into a cab, makes it a great package. No perceivable noise when winding it up, and the stock speaker is great, good tight bass and nice and chimey on top.Seems solidly built, but I guess time will tell on that front. All in all, very pleased with this, and great value.

A superb sounding amp.

Playing 50+ years. Owned hundreds of guitars and many kinds of amps (tube, digital, solid-state, etc). The new-and-improved Pro Junior tops them all, even the Deluxe Reverb Re-issue I once gigged with. The sound of this amp blooms in such a warm, crystal-clear way. I was a bit worried it might break up too quickly and maybe deliver a dark-ish, brown, or tweed tone. But there is plenty of loud, clean headroom for home use and when driven the sound is smooth and creamy (and so much louder than you can imagine). Plus the sound is very balanced across frequencies, not boxy at all to me. Putting it on the floor brings out the bass. Elevated it sounds beautifully focused. PS - It's not orange like the GC photos show, it's the typical tweed color.

Completely blown away. A true amplifier. Takes your guitar to the next level, each note has so much weight behind it. You can make it sound small in your room, you can make it sound booming and full. The reverb helps to accentuate your note out in space. The Fat button is very useful, especially at low volumes it can push the amp just enough. My first personally owned tube amp and I couldn’t be happier! I just want to play my fender Stratocaster 🤠 (black face blues jr IV)

Great amp! Best sounding and

Great amp! Best sounding and looking Pro Jr yet. I had an early one about 20 years ago and this knocks that (a perfectly decent amp in its own right) out of the park and then some, Lovely cleans and all the vintage tone you could want from I imagine - the Jensen speaker. Super portable too and still the same minimal 50's style controls that make it a a dream amp - plenty loud enough for small gigs and perfect for the studio.

Great little amp
11 March 2022

Superb looking little amp. Great sound, and nice control over when it breaks up. Louder than expected (I have been using a small solid state before this), but still usable at home if you are careful 😎Excellent customer service from PMT. My amp stopped working the first day it was delivered. PMT sorted the return and delivered a replacement within the week. The amp is built like a tank, so I am hoping that the initial problem is a one-off. Judging by build quality, it should last just about forever. Now to annoy my wife and neighbours a bit more 😆

New amp for an oldie!
14 March 2023

I'm an old geezer now, and these days play only once a month at a small venue with some excellent muso friends; my amp-lugging-every-night-gigging days are over. I play Strats mostly, and a lot of slide, so I wanted a small but very punchy valve amp and being bewildered by the number of "bijou" amps available, sought the advice of a very good sound-engineer friend, who immediately came up with the Fender Pro Junior. As luck would have it, a pre-owned one came up on the PMT website, so without further ado.......Long story shortened; exactly what I was looking for and I feckin' love it!

Simple Perfection!

Hey, I'm a jazz guitarist, whose idols are of the early days of amplification -- this 15W tube baby, with volume and tone controls, are all I need! The only thing between my various archtops (and one Tele) and the amp is a volume pedal, which I try to employ discreetly for swells on "exotic" material. Not just the volume but the spaciousness of sound of the Pro Junior IV knocks my socks off. For some players' styles, "simple" is better -- that's me. At low volume, a sound reminiscent of Charlie Christian, Barney Kessel, Kenny Burrell and Grant Green can be achieved. Crank it a little, and you reach Junior Barnard territory. Rock specialists will, I'm sure, tell you which other sonic sites can be reached. I'll practice AND gig with this little champ, and I'll bet you ... MoreHey, I'm a jazz guitarist, whose idols are of the early days of amplification -- this 15W tube baby, with volume and tone controls, are all I need! I live in a very small space and needed something compact, yet full of tone. It took me a while to decide what I wanted and even had to return an amp because of how overwhelmingly big and loud it was. Glad I tried this amp out. It's not so small where you can't be taken serious, yet it looks amazingly stylish, bring back the old school look to a modern generation. It's so easy to set up, I'm a pedal kind of guy and I have quite a few so I didn't need anything that had all these bells and whistles, so the fact that this amplifier has a single volume and tone knob was a plus for me. The only other knob that should be on here would have to be a spring reverb and I would definitely buy again. Other than that, this amp seems to be sturdy, I'm not worried about getting a ... MoreI live in a very small space and needed something compact, yet full of tone. It's so easy to transport, you can pack up your amp quickly without any effort. Need it for a loud show? Just mic it up. I don't understand why I didn't get one of these before.

Too good to be called "Junior"
5 January 2022

I am very happy and impressed with this "little" amp. I have had good solid state amps, including modelling amps in the past and this is my first true valve amp. The richness and depth of the sound is very noticeable. Its like suddenly playing in 3-D. It's very loud for such a small amp so home use is only just cracking open the volume knobs. Can't wait to open it up properly and driving it a little harder. The reverb has a very large range from subtle to way beyond what I would ever consider using. I have noticed increased static noise from some of my guitars (hum reduction has been used on previous modelling amps) so its out with the copper foil and conductive paint to start a number of shielding projects (especially my Les Paul!). A small price to pay for such a ... MoreI am very happy and impressed with this "little" amp. Tweed awesomeness in a small package.
6 March 2022

This little amp is an excellent practice or recording tool. Simple to operate, and with only a tone and volume control, dialing in a great sound is easy. It doesn't do modern rock music, but it will satisfy those who play blues, or most anything that requires a sparkling clean sound. Not much larger in size than a tweed Champ, it sounds much larger and is much louder. This amp takes pedals well, and it's so portable that you might be tempted to gig with it. And you might if your drummer doesn't hit too hard. Clean headroom is in short supply, but I can't imagine this amp won't please someone who knows great tone when he hears it, and understands its volume limits.
