A completely personal reaction rather than a technical review: The guitar is small and fairly shallow, so it is easy to hold. It is light and balances well.The nylon strings have a lovely soft feel. I can't begin to describe how beautiful this guitar is to look at and hold--don't usually get too emotional, but it brought a tear to my eye and took my breath away when I opened the case and lifted it out at the Post Office just to make sure it shipped safely. It has a sweet tone whether played acoustically or through an amp. Right now, a small keyboard practice amp is what's available. A guitar amp might be a better match. It came with a very nice hard case, which adds to the value. The narrow neck makes it much easier for me to play than a typical classical neck. I'm so pleased with this guitar. It has a thin body, very light and it sounds great when connected without any extra noises. It's then great for performing and recording. It's not loud at all on its own and so far I haven't received any feedback from the amp.With a Fishman preamp and a light but strong case, its price/quality is unbeatable... Highly recommended!
It's clear that Fender is inflating the price of this instrument by adding a hard case, but the guitar itself is cheaply made. The battery case was cheap plastic and arrived broken. Finish is black and easily scratched. No trim around the edges of the guitar whatsoever -- just plain black all over. The size was exactly what I was looking for, but this guitar was returned because I was so dissatisfied. So hard to find a good quality, thin body classical crossover. I'm still looking.
I did not read the other responses before I made my purchase and it probably would have put me off buying from dv247. However apart from lack of communication my purchase went smoothly, the guitar turned up one day later than expected, extremely well packed and a great guitar at an unbeatable price. My other guitars cost considerably more...
I bought this as b'day gift for my older brother. I was looking for a smaller nylon string guitar without the 1 7/8 inch or greater nut they all seem to come in, given the classical heritage - We both like the soft mellow tones and easier touch of nylon - his hands are not as strong or flexible as they once were. While this Fender is no top of the line instrument, given the price (and I bought a scratch and dent model for much less, guitar perfect and really lovely, but case is beat up) it does the job. I saw a review that totally cut this guitar up and ridiculed the case - sure the tuners are poor and the sound doesn't boom and needs set up and the case surely is not fit for Martin... but for the money, this is a pretty cool thin bodied guitar that has a pleasant ... MoreI bought this as b'day gift for my older brother. I'm returning it for him only because his hands simply can't play guitar anymore, not even this easy play model - if it were for me I would want a more refined tone for recording purposes, for which I'll have to pay a whole lot more.
Does what it states in the description. Affordable guitar, looks great, sounds great and very easy action to play especially for any beginners
I bought this as a practice guitar - wanting nylon strings in order to be a bit kinder on the fingers but with a modern style neck shape rather than the usual broad/flat classical fretboard. It is exactly what I wanted - something to leave lying around so you get into the habit of picking it up and practising whenever you have a free couple of minutes. Holds tune really well which has been a surprise
