This Strat sounds as amazing as it looks. The Lake Placid Blue is beautiful and is a perfect match for my LPB Fender Tele. The sound is great!!! The maple neck is smooth l, comfortable and fast playing. You can?t go wrong with this guitar, and at this price you will not a better value! Way superior to Squiers and just at nice as some American Fenders. Absolutely amazing!!! Get it!

FSR of Player Strats and Teles. Adorama had these for crazy good $ (about $630 for either). I snagged a Strat, and it is, I assess, slightly better detailed and set-up than usual. Adorama is smart about inventory control. Monitor their site, with regularity, and you will find deals on instruments and back line for prices which guarantee you zero loss if selling-on instruments is your thing. Or, if you collect for resale. Eventually, I assure you will find something you actually desire for a price that leaves you opened-mouthed.Shipping and packing were first-rate, and quite quick!

Simply put, this Player series strat is the best deal for a Mexican Stratocaster you can find. The fit and finish is top notch - it might not be finished with the attention to detail of a Corona Fender, but for a third the price you can't beat the value you get with this deal. The one deficiency I noted was the color was not a dark blue like the preview image suggests; it is more of a greenish blue, similar to the current tide pool color offered by other vendors?. Wasn't my first choice, but for nearly half the price of other vendors, this is a great deal if you're looking for a solid Fender to start off modifying or an upgrade from a Squire series.

Good quality for the money. I have owned three of these now and I can't say enough good things about the fret work and fit. However I have had TWO of these with finish blemishes (Tidepool) from one seller but they made good on the second one as I didn't really notice the blemishes on the first one so I sold it later. But overall these are great value for the playability and sound. You get the Fender quality with the Fender name and all the features that made Fender a household name. However the pots are decent (CTS name but made in Taiwan) but the jack and the switch are cheap Chinese made garbage! However the pots are decent (CTS name but made in Taiwan) but the jack and the switch are cheap Chinese made garbage! Oak Grigsby is an import company that offers cheap electronics and these switches are nothing like the original CTS (USA MADE) versions that Fender originally used but I don't have any plans to replace anything - I bought this to replace my '56 Fender Stratocaster that has severely worn frets. I didn't want to re-fret it or re-dress them as they are so low that the strings are practically lying on the fretboard now! So I bought this while being on the fence about a new guitar. The Tidepool finish is great but I'm almost afraid to play it as I don't want to dent or scratch it! The frets are smooth and polished with now sharp ends and the action is decent but I'd rather it was a littlelower. It's better than most of the guitars that I've played at other stores. Also the fact that this doesn't even come with a gig bag makes it worse since this was so expensive for the price! I only wish that the other guitars that I bought from Butler Music were the same finish quality as this one. Also worth mentioning is that Fender is now routing their guitars AFTER they paint them which is why the inside of the body has bare wood spots were the controls, pickups, jack, and tremolo are. Maybe they think this saves paint? Who knows? But all in all this is a great player guitar with more modern features to allow more playability without a lot of fuss over strings choking out on the frets from the radius or the tremolo being hard to use and still have full action. If Fender would only take a little more time on the finishes - especially the neck or rather the fretboard they would have the same guitar as the American professional in its' appearance and sound, and playability and value.
The guitar came in a slightly damaged box, but was in great condition. The guitar required a set-up since the intonation was off. Once set-up, the guitar stayed in tune very well. The action is perfect. Most importantly, the guitar sounds as good as other more expensive Fender Stratocasters.I highly recommend the Fender Limited Edition Player Stratocaster Electric Guitar. The Lake Placid Blue Stratocaster with a Maple Fingerboard is an absolutely beautiful guitar to play and it sounds great!I am very happy with this purchase!Mario O.
I'll admit I never heard of this company before living here in Texas. I was in the market for a Fender Player Stratocaster but not in a rush. I usually deal with one specific online retailer but decided to do a few searches anyway and found this Limited Edition Lake Placid Blue Player Stratocaster on Adorama offered at a significant price reduction compared with other online sellers. Fender has raised their prices recently so the price I paid was even more impressive. I was a little hesitant but the price was too good to pass up so I ordered one hoping for the best. It was shipped 2-day Air and was double boxed. One improvement I would recommend would be to insert some packing material (foam, paper, etc.) inside the outer box to prevent the actual product box from ... MoreI'll admit I never heard of this company before living here in Texas. Fender has raised their prices recently so the price I paid was even more impressive. I was a little hesitant but the price was too good to pass up so I ordered one hoping for the best. It was shipped 2-day Air and was double boxed. One improvement I would recommend would be to insert some packing material (foam, paper, etc.) inside the outer box to prevent the actual product box from moving side-to-side. For example, Sweetwater double boxes their guitars as well but puts blocks of foam in strategic areas in the outer box to protect the inner product box. But it didn't prove to be an issue this time. The guitar arrived on time. Being the pessimist that I am I held my breathe while opening the box thinking that for the price I paid something was bound to be wrong with the guitar. I open the box and to my relief the guitar was perfect in every way. The paint job was flawless as were the frets. All I had to do was tune it. I had ordered some locking tuners so those will be going on. I put them on all of my guitars. I am extremely pleased with this purchase and will be checking the website periodically for other great deals in Musical Instruments. My overall shopping experience was great so no complaints here.
I've owned this guitar a month now. Out of the box, it was perfectly playable, although the action was a little higher than I'd have preferred and the intonation was off. The nut was also cut a little too high. The damn thing looks absolutely stunning. This Lake Placid Blue is easily my favorite available color and I'm genuinely surprised the color is limited edition. I love looking at this strat. After handing the guitar off to my local guitar tech for a standard setup, the guitar plays beautifully.
The Player series Stratocaster is a really solid value in and of itself thanks to the upgrades Fender made to the line a couple years ago, but in a limited-run color in an all-time classic Fender hue at an even more attractive price, it was just too tough to resist. The color is even more lovely in person, the guitar came with a playable setup, the pickups sound great, the neck feels very nice ? all-in-all it's just a great bang-for-buck electric guitar that looks, feels, and plays more expensive than it is.The guitar is ever so slightly heavier than I'd have gone for if I was being picky and buying from a dealer that lists weights for individual instruments, but it was a risk and compromise I was willing to take for the gorgeous color and unbeatable price. That said, it's not Les Paul heavy like a Telecaster I once had ? it's probably just a tad over 8 pounds, which is probably about average for these Player series Strats. Still within a reasonable range for me and like I said ? the color and price take off some of the weight in my mind :DOverall, this is just a fantastic way to get into a real Fender Stratocaster ? I'm really happy with this one and would highly recommend to anyone at any point in their skill level or guitar collection!
I'm sure if you are interested in this guitar you have viewed the reviews on the web, so I'll share my thoughts on this specific item.First, the color is beautiful. Similar to the pictures but much deeper. It reminds me of Leman Blue from the mid 60s Corvettes. Not exactly the same, but if you like that color, you will love this.Adorama shipped my package on the next business day from Chattanooga TN. It arrived in TX on time in 2 days. Adorama put the original Fender box (unopened) in a second box. It arrived undamaged. The sales price is the best deal I've seen in a long time. For a genuine Fender in a beautiful color. As the title says, Stunning! Couldn't be happier.
The guitar was shipped double-boxed, and there were no issues whatsoever. The strings were well out-of-tune and was expected, however, after a vigorous stretching the guitar was intonated. New strings will installed. No dents, dings or scratches, and the nut was cut perfectly. Neck relief was also set correctly, and string height set to Fender spec; 1.6 mm. Fret finishing is top-notch, with no sprout or sharp edges. There were 3 tall frets, all of which seated properly after tapping down.Clean tones are throaty, and positions 2 & 4 have that classic quack. Position 5, the bridge pickup is very twangy. Add overdrive, dirt, distortion and the pickups begin to growl. This Strat has a more modern voice, and these pickups like getting dirty. Also, having a tone pot for the bridge pickup is a welcome addition. This Strat still maintains a vintage tone vibe, but also allows for more modern tones as well.Note: After tapping down those three frets, I still had a G string buzz from the 9th fret and up. After a very minor adjustment to the G string saddle height hex screws, and lowering all 3 pickups a little, that G string buzz went away completely. Now, Squier's are very good guitars, I own three, but the Player Strat offers better components, materials and fit-and-finish out of the box. I am highly satisfied with my Fender Player Strat, and I'm looking forward to years of playing this well crafted instrument. If you can swing the extra funds for a Player Strat, do it.
