Its the best for me. Just leave it plugged in and fit head phones whenever I feel like practicing. It means I pick up the guitar a lot more often and probably play double the time I would normally if I had to set up the amp and peddles. Able to play in any room easily too. Lots of smaller play times but a lot more progress. A real game changer. The selection and quality of sounds and ability to tweak those is brilliant. The Bluetooth connectivity with access to a full screen view on I Pad is brilliant . Could not recommend more.

The original micro had colored LED's to indicate what model and effects were in use and that required referring to a little business card that had the clues on it. Since I normally pick a mode for a practice session and stick with it, it wasn't terrible, just not good from an operation standpoint. This new plus version has a little display, adds a tuner and can be controlled with Bluetooth like a Mustang GTX. It "only" allows two effects before and two after the amp compared to 5+5 for the GTX. I own a GTX100, BTW. I don't have any of the amps and effects that this device models, so I don't know how accurate they are. I do know that the GTX and the original Micro and this Micro have models that I like and sound like real effects and amps to me. They have good dynamics and they don't wander into the uncanny valley that plagued so many modeling amps of yore. This and the older model have enough oomph to drive the Roland over-ear headphones I'm using. I don't think they're particularly sensitive. The Bluetooth connection can be a bit finicky. Sometimes have to restart the app, restart the device, or some combination of the above. I had constant disconnections with the GTX and this until I read in a forum to NOT add these to your phone/tablet as Bluetooth devices, just let the app find it on its own. I have had fewer problems since following that advice. If you want to play along with a recording, you'll have to add it as a device anyway. One star deducted for the finicky Bluetooth. Overall, a nice practice rig.

This device makes it convenient to practice anywhere. Just need your guitar and some headphones. Then play a jam track via blu-tooth. And if you want to tweak settings, then open the app on your phone. All of the amp and effect models sound decent enough. While I prefer tube amps andpedals, you could use this to perform by running a headphone cable with an adapter out to an frfs or another amp. Just depends on if you are particular about modeled tones or not.Overall, it's worth the price.

As soon as I knew about the mustang micro plus with its 50 amp sims and compatibility with the fender tone app, I was calling the guitar centers to ask if they had them in stock.I have both the micro and micro plus now. Both are great, but the display and additional sims push the microplus to the top. The original is still a great unit and there's absolutely nothing wrong with it - for me the leds were hard to remember what the colors represented. I can use both as a2d inputs , so trying to sell or trade in the original isn't a priority.Honestly thinking about getting a wireless interface because it is easier to see the screen unplugged - on the guitar you are tilting it some - but with the fender tone app - you don't always need to .Hard to believe the ... MoreAs soon as I knew about the mustang micro plus with its 50 amp sims and compatibility with the fender tone app, I was calling the guitar centers to ask if they had them in stock.I have both the micro and micro plus now. Both are great, but the display and additional sims push the microplus to the top. I think software updates ( not hardware) are going to keep expanding the capabilities of the micro plus .This is definitely ideal as a practice setup. If you're starting out - you can put your money into the instrument , not pedals or a large amp.Recording - this is a hidden feature of both the micro and micro plus - and yes you can use both together at the same time as a2d channel inputs
What a fantastic triumph of miniaturisation… a great selection of amps, effects and quality sounds… with easy to use interface. Display instantly shows preset info and links well with the optional intuitive phone of tablet app which gives an easy to see and self intuitive configuration options, fantastic and great for headphone practice anywhere or connect to a desk or amp to share the soundsIf you want an easy to use, versatile, portable great sounding amp snd effects unit .. buy one you won’t be disappointed. As always fantastic service and price from PMT online or shop, best place to get your gear.
These days, my guitar sessions tend to be after everyone else in the house is in bed, so no chance of cranking up my JCM800. Instead, it's a case of my pedal board or my Helix LT into the PC into headphones, which can be a faff to set up, and puts me off the spur-of-the-moment just grabbing the guitar and playing. The Mustang Micro Plus is a game changer. So simple to set up and just play. It may not have quite the depth and breadth of tweakability that a Helix has, but that's comparing apples with oranges; it's still impressively tweakable (and intuitively so) whilst avoiding the option overload problems with something like a Helix. The amps are all great - obviously majoring on various Fender amps as you'd expect, but good emulations of various Marshall, Vox, Hi ... MoreThese days, my guitar sessions tend to be after everyone else in the house is in bed, so no chance of cranking up my JCM800. The amps are all great - obviously majoring on various Fender amps as you'd expect, but good emulations of various Marshall, Vox, Hi Watt, Orange and others. Likewise, you have pretty much all of the effects you need. Limited to four effects blocks (and only one OD/distortion/boost/fuzz block, so no stacking) but for the money it's great. I bought the Boss Katana Air headphones when they came out a few years ago, and this is streets ahead of that. And the Fender Tone mobile app is simplicity itself (unlike the Boss app!). Plus, being able to play along to music streamed to the headphones via Bluetooth is a major benefit. Given that it costs about one-third of what I paid for my last Strymon effects pedal, this is seriously good value for money. Highly recommended.
I was going to buy a Boss Katana Go but unfortunately, they have been discontinued. I decided to go with the Mustang micro plus instead as it has similar features.I'm so glad I did and have been very impressed with this little magical headphone amp. Great tones and functionality. It is an excellent tool for practising and can be used through an audio interface with a breakout cable for recording too. Bluetooth and the Fender tone app are really good also. Just a really good piece of kit.
