Love these Player Series Stratocasters! Great tone and feel thanks to its alder body and maple neck. The single-coil pickups deliver a bright, crisp tone. The C-shaped neck
profile and 9.5" fretboard radius give this Strat a comfortable, modern feel. Its C-shaped neck carves comfortably in the hand, enabling easy chord changes and lead runs.
The flatter 9.5" fretboard radius facilitates string bending and makes this guitar instantly playable. Bought the Candy Red one and love the color!

However the pots are decent (CTS name but made in Taiwan) but the jack and the switch are cheap Chinese made garbage! Oak Grigsby is an import company that offers cheap electronics and these switches are nothing like the original CTS (USA MADE) versions that Fender originally used but I don't have any plans to replace anything - I bought this to replace my '56 Fender Stratocaster that has severely worn frets. I didn't want to re-fret it or re-dress them as they are so low that the strings are practically lying on the fretboard now! So I bought this while being on the fence about a new guitar. The Tidepool finish is great but I'm almost afraid to play it as I don't want to dent or scratch it! The frets are smooth and polished with now sharp ends and the action is decent but I'd rather it was a littlelower. It's better than most of the guitars that I've played at other stores. Also the fact that this doesn't even come with a gig bag makes it worse since this was so expensive for the price! I only wish that the other guitars that I bought from Butler Music were the same finish quality as this one. Also worth mentioning is that Fender is now routing their guitars AFTER they paint them which is why the inside of the body has bare wood spots were the controls, pickups, jack, and tremolo are. Maybe they think this saves paint? Who knows? But all in all this is a great player guitar with more modern features to allow more playability without a lot of fuss over strings choking out on the frets from the radius or the tremolo being hard to use and still have full action. If Fender would only take a little more time on the finishes - especially the neck or rather the fretboard they would have the same guitar as the American professional in its' appearance and sound, and playability and value.... I love my player series Strat
13 April 2023
I ordered the Tide Pool Blue and I love it. These MIM Fenders are just as good as the MIA guitars but more affordable and probably built by an actual guitar player who loves Fender guitars as much as you do. Anyhow, I have a really nice Strat. I did all the usual set up stuff and plugged in to 2 of my amps. This guitar has a lot going for it in this price point. Just as it is out of the box is great. It's a Fender and it's a great guitar and it rocks. I will be installing a bunch of Graph Tech parts like Ratio locking tuners, Graph Tech Tusq saddle, string trees and string saver saddles, my personal preference. I use Graph Tech parts on all my guitars. I could leave this all stock and still be in love with it. This guitar is an excellent hot rodders platform. The 2 point bridge is one thing I love as far as changes that Fender made to this guitar might not be something a Fender purist would agree with but guitars are not a one size fits all kind of thing. You can make them your own with all the mods out there and that is just what I do to all my guitars. If you want a Strat and need a budget friendly guitar to gig with, this is a great choice. This guitar sounds great. I am running GHS Boomer 10-46 strings like I run on all my electrics guitars. I like the results I get. This guitar gets my vote for a great choice. These new players Series Fenders are great guitars. Get one... Show more

Its Love

You know when you first fell in love and realized you never knew it could be this good? Thats what this is. I have owned several great Strat style guitars and love them all, but this is my first real Fender one. Wow. This should be the guitar that everyone is issued when they first start playing. The neck feels amazing and playing is effortless. The strings beg to be bended. Even the stock pickups sound great for what they are. I'm not in any rush to replace them, but it could only make this guitar even better if you have a favorite. If every guitar has its own personality, this is like a laid-back friend who's up for pretty much anything. I can't imagine how much more value you'd get spending more for the American made version, as the sonic improvements could only be minimal. Fit and finish are perfect. I have replaced the tuners with the locking version and the string tree with a Graph Tech Tusq, but those were based on my personal preferences and definitely not necessary. In summary, if you are looking at this guitar, there's no need to hesitate. Just pull the trigger. The only way I could see returning it is if it happened to be a factory defect.... Show more

PLAYS AND SOUNDS SUPER
4 June 2024
You cant expect Fender to set up thousands of guitars to your liking. If you don't know how to do the basics take it to someone that does. When you put 10's on it the set up will go to heck. Adjust the trem back down. Check string height, neck relief, intonation, and pickup height and you have a killer Strat. With just a compressor this thing gets close to Gilmore sound. (Tonemaser Princeton) I've had MIM Strats in the past but I dont think they sounded like this or I'd a kept them.... Show more

I was very dissapointed when i got this guitar. Firstly the end knob was missing off the 5 way toggle switch even tho it had been quality controlled singed off by 4 people. Secondly it didnt seem like it was brand new and thirdly and the reason i ended up sending it back is because it just would not stay in tune no matter how much i messed about with it. I phoned PMT who just kept saying its because the strings are new. And it might have dropped out when it was shipped across the water etc. I bought an ibanez 6 months ago. That hardly needed tuning right out of the bix and stays in tune all the time. Anyway the guy i spoke to said tighted the strings more so i did, then one snapped. Review of Fender Player Stratocaster 3-Color Sunburst Pau Ferro fretboard
2 July 2024
I bought this guitar to practice on as I wanted to keep my more expensive Charvel for gigging and I think I will use the Fender for live playing also.First thing I noticed was the build quality, for a guitar in this price range, is incredible. Very solid and well put together. The neck is a dream to play and it sounds amazing either straight into an amp or interface/ rig.I am a big fan of the colour (hence the reason I bought it) and the finish is beautiful. If you want a Fender, but dont want to pay over £1000 I cannot recommend this guitar any more highly. That classic Strat sound and feel for this price feels like I have committed robbery on Andertons! As always, delivery, email communication and service from Andertons is impeccable.... Show more

Fell in love with the guitar the moment I unpacked and saw it. The sound of this guitar with the boss katana mkII 50 is absolutely marvellous!!! I can not stress how important sound quality is , for any guitarist. One might begin with a cheap guitar like I did but one has to move on to a guitar such as Fender over time to really enjoy playing. I am starting to like playing Dire Straits on this guitar :). The best guitar I have owned
11 January 2023
The best guitar I have owned. Though I have played a few top tier guitars in the past, this MIM Strat is as good as any of them, if not better. The maple neck is superb feels superb to me, although I am not fussy about guitar frets. The factory set up out the box is very playable with good action and the ability to play very subtle whammy/tremolo bar accents. Compared to the lower end guitars I have owned before I was surprised with the tonal difference in quality. It has a twang to it which adds character to funky styles and and squealing guitar solos. It sounds exactly how I have always wanted my guitar to sound. It is worth the money, I would say go for it now, because it has already gone up significantly in price since I bought it, and with good reason.... Show more
