It allows me so many more possibilities with playing soft country to hard rock a really strong guitar enjoyment experience.

Good quality for the money. I have owned three of these now and I can't say enough good things about the fret work and fit. However I have had TWO of these with finish blemishes (Tidepool) from one seller but they made good on the second one as I didn't really notice the blemishes on the first one so I sold it later. But overall these are great value for the playability and sound. You get the Fender quality with the Fender name and all the features that made Fender a household name. Oak Grigsby is an import company that offers cheap electronics and these switches are nothing like the original CTS (USA MADE) versions that Fender originally used but I don't have any plans to replace anything - I bought this to replace my '56 Fender Stratocaster that has severely worn frets. I didn't want to re-fret it or re-dress them as they are so low that the strings are practically lying on the fretboard now! So I bought this while being on the fence about a new guitar. The Tidepool finish is great but I'm almost afraid to play it as I don't want to dent or scratch it! The frets are smooth and polished with now sharp ends and the action is decent but I'd rather it was a littlelower. It's better than most of the guitars that I've played at other stores. Also the fact that this doesn't even come with a gig bag makes it worse since this was so expensive for the price! I only wish that the other guitars that I bought from Butler Music were the same finish quality as this one. Also worth mentioning is that Fender is now routing their guitars AFTER they paint them which is why the inside of the body has bare wood spots were the controls, pickups, jack, and tremolo are. Maybe they think this saves paint? Who knows? But all in all this is a great player guitar with more modern features to allow more playability without a lot of fuss over strings choking out on the frets from the radius or the tremolo being hard to use and still have full action. If Fender would only take a little more time on the finishes - especially the neck or rather the fretboard they would have the same guitar as the American professional in its' appearance and sound, and playability and value.

I do a lot of research before I purchase gear. I watched and read reviews across YouTube and multiple best-in-class retail sites before I made the decision to buy this guitar--in the tide pool color. Net net, I love it. The Fender Player delivers excellent sound and a range of tones, and the double-locking tremolo adds more versatility than the traditional strat tremolo. Plus, you can't beat the price. I was skeptical when I read that it is manufactured outside the U.S. but this guitar came well packaged and in the condition you would expect from any new product. I am no expert on guitars, and even far less so as a guitarist but, at my playing level and ability, this Fender Player Stratocaster is an absolute joy to play! It wasn't that much of a surprise to me when I brought it home and plugged it into my Fender Princeton Chorus amp and started playing it. I love the smoothness of the neck up and down and the action is perfect. The two single pick-ups, together with the bridge humbucker just explode through my amp. I love this beautifully crafted guitar!! What did surprise me, and what I never expected was the amazing way the staff welcomed in all of the instruments and gear that I hoped to trade in for a store credit. They asked me what I realistically expected to get in trade value and I told them. Lo and behold, they offered me exactly what I hoped. Since one of the instruments was a 5-piece drum set with several cymbals and stands, etc., it took quite a while for the guys to assess each piece but, in the mean and in between time, they were most courteous and accommodating in helping me find the "one" guitar that I wanted and plugged me in to a floor amp and just let me choose and play any guitar I wanted from the vast inventory hanging before me on the wall. They answered all of my questions and helped me find the perfect guitar case for it. My overall experience at Sam Ash of Charlotte far exceeded my expectations, as I had never been there before. But I definitely hope to go back! What a superbly professional experience!!
I ordered the Tide Pool Blue and I love it. These MIM Fenders are just as good as the MIA guitars but more affordable and probably built by an actual guitar player who loves Fender guitars as much as you do. Anyhow, I have a really nice Strat. I did all the usual set up stuff and plugged in to 2 of my amps. This guitar has a lot going for it in this price point. Just as it is out of the box is great. It's a Fender and it's a great guitar and it rocks. I will be installing a bunch of Graph Tech parts like Ratio locking tuners, Graph Tech Tusq saddle, string trees and string saver saddles, my personal preference. I use Graph Tech parts on all my guitars. I could leave this all stock and still be in love with it. This guitar is an excellent hot rodders platform. The 2 ... The 2 point bridge is one thing I love as far as changes that Fender made to this guitar might not be something a Fender purist would agree with but guitars are not a one size fits all kind of thing. You can make them your own with all the mods out there and that is just what I do to all my guitars. If you want a Strat and need a budget friendly guitar to gig with, this is a great choice. This guitar sounds great. I am running GHS Boomer 10-46 strings like I run on all my electrics guitars. I like the results I get. This guitar gets my vote for a great choice. These new players Series Fenders are great guitars. Get one
I bought this same guitar a few years ago from Guitar Center because I liked the color & the fact that it wasn't very common. I've never been a big fan of glossy maple fingerboards, but I've pretty much gotten used to it. I've got an aftermarket strat neck with rosewood board on a partscaster made back in 1990 when fingerboard woods were still closer to a slab of wood rather than being little more than a veneer which is so common today with many traditional fingerboard woods. So, I've thought about replacing the OEM neck with the older one. I replaced the tuners with locking ones, the string tree with a graphite one, the trem's inertia block with a machined steel one & the stainless-steel bar that came with it & is not loose & sloppy feeling like the original & the ... Oh, & I made the fret ends a little nicer & put a Switchcraft input jack in it. I'd like to install a bone nut or ivory because I have a little stash of it that's old & legal. I've thought a faux tortoise shell pickguard would look nice too. And of course, like nearly all of us seem to do, I've thought about changing the pickups, (we just can't seem to help ourselves). Or just put an old Carvin hot single coil that I have laying around in the bridge position. I think that, for the most part, MIM guitars, especially with a few mods & a good setup, are a bargain compared to other options on offer from Fender.

After years of playing, I decided to treat myself to a Fender. I don't gig or anything so I've always just played lower tier guitars. Out of the box this guitar was perfect in every way. I tuned it to pitch, did a quick test for free buzz/dead spots, checked intonation, and tested the wiggle stick. No exaggeration, it was flawless. Fretwork was perfect, something I'm particularly anal about having taught myself and "fixed" several guitars. The neck feels buttery smooth and the frets are like glass. I had some reservations being that this is Fender's entry into their collection (after Squier of course), but I was extremely happy when I unboxed it, tuned it, and tested it.Why did I choose this particular guitar? I had some reservations being that this is Fender's entry into their collection (after Squier of course), but I was extremely happy when I unboxed it, tuned it, and tested it.Why did I choose this particular guitar? I was in a Guitar Center for the first time last month, and I saw this Surf Green Pearl on a stand on the floor. The color at first was a little strange, but when I picked it up, I just fell in love with how it caught the light. The neck on that demo felt like a guitar that had been played-in. The frets felt amazing, no sharp edges or sprout. I told myself I'll sleep on it. Maybe come back and get THAT one. Ultimately, I opted for a brand new one, and couldn't be happier. It feels just like the one in the store. That's 2 of these back to back that felt so good.I've read some reviews that point to an opposite experience, which gave me some reservations about ordering one. However, every experience is different, and in my experience, I'd say they knocked it out of the park.If I were to get picky, and was told I HAD to find a flaw, the only thing I can find is there's the smallest gap between the neck and the body. Not even wide enough to slip a pick into, but enough to see. It's so small and insignificant, but that's all that I could find as a "flaw". I can't put the guitar down, and that's what it's all about. It keeps me inspired to keep playing.
What an absolute stunner of a guitar! I’d tried a few different types including some Les Pauls but my heart kept coming back to the Stat. I ordered it before 15:00 and it came the following morning! I was a little bit concerned about ordering over the internet as I’d rather go into a store but it came well packaged and in perfect condition. It was playable directly out of the box (after tuning up) and it was everything I’d hoped for.The neck is slightly bigger than my Ibanez but not as big as a Les Paul and with only having small fingers it felt incredibly comfortable. I started playing a cheap Epiphone Strat many years ago, then moved to a Les Paul to get a fuller rock sound. Since then, I've tried to find a happy balance between the two.In between, I've picked up a PRS Custom and a Telecaster but could never quite find the sound I wanted. When I tried some Strats at GC, they wouldn't stay in tune and sounded bad through their amp selections.I went to Sam Ash and was able to play this Strat through the same amp I have, a Marshall DSL 40CR. What a great combination with this guitar and amp!I feel like an old friend has moved back into the neighborhood! I'm re-energized by finding the sound I've been searching for. Sometimes the best solutions are straightforward and this combo works really well for me. The staff were great ... What a great combination with this guitar and amp!I feel like an old friend has moved back into the neighborhood! I'm re-energized by finding the sound I've been searching for. Sometimes the best solutions are straightforward and this combo works really well for me. The staff were great and found out what sound I wanted before making suggestions and having me try different guitars.
