Everything I want in a 5m tape. And I love metric-only tapes. When I make wardrobes I mark out and drill the hinge holes, shelf pins, rail hangers etc. before assembly. Everything ended up square and spot on. I liked the way it could be turned upside down and grip the longer boards.It doesn't have the ability to measure internal measurements due to its rounded back but I have a Hultafors Talmeter for that.
Perfect for lefties and anyone else not stuck in the stone age as there's metric along both edges as well as on the underside of the tape. -No imperial unitsNice design - seems to just bounce when you drop it instead of sustaining any damage. It has an 'auto stop' feature, meaning that it doesn't retract until you press the button in. This is great for me but some people don't like that. Not much else to comment on but it's doing a great job so far. Can't say I'm shocked for the price or pleasantly surprised because it is Festool. You get what you pay for and you usually know what you're paying extra for.
used daily for a few months and the locking mechanism lost its strength so tape would automatically retract and would never lock. not what i expected from festool, was good and accurate when was working.
I had one of these euro design tape measures before and really like having the tape lock automatically with buttons to recoil... it just makes more sense this way round to me.I also prefer having mm on both sides. I can't remember the last time I needed to use imperial measurements.The Festool tape measure is the quality you expect from Festool in a format I like.
Stays extended until one of two buttons pressed. Very comfortable feel. Tape has long reach before sagging down. Bought as present then bought for myself.
A bit weak for my use I prefer a more robust tape that can reach out 10' or more Stanley tapes are much better I like the measurements on both sides of the tape though
The best measure i have ever used. The fact the default action is to hold the tape at the extended length rather than using a button to hold or lock at a particular length is so simple but yet genius.I've not bought festool products before due to the high cost, but if their high end tools follow the same build and feature qualities then i will not second guess a purchase.
