This Fetch Mighty is great BUT make sure that you buy the latest model being the 4K Fetch Mighty release not the recently superseded (although still available) plain old Fetch Mighty. In the fine print in ads and on the packaging you will see the model code difference between the older Fetch Mighty (being M616T) and the new 4k Fetch Mighty (being M681T) but only if you look hard as they both have very similar packaging otherwise. Buying of older stock M616T is easy to do so look for this correct model code and the "4K" logo on the front of the box for the M681T. When you get this great PVR make sure that you go to the menu to adjust the resolution in "Video" settings to get true 4k as this unsurprisingly only happens when you select 4k in these settings.Even free to ... MoreThis Fetch Mighty is great BUT make sure that you buy the latest model being the 4K Fetch Mighty release not the recently superseded (although still available) plain old Fetch Mighty. I dont know why it should be better but it certainly looks sharper to me, probably some uprezzing happening I dont know. A bonus for those who have it is Dolby Atmos (which is surround sound on steroids) that this 4k Fetch Mighty is capable of carrying from Netflix if you are lucky enough to have a dedicated receiver in your setup. This 4k Fetch Mighty will record shows from free to air no problem but I havent been able to record Netflix shows yet. Ive only had this a few weeks and havent really tried hard yet although maybe Netflix wont allow PVR recording i dont know. Regardless, I think this is probably the best choice of 4K capable PVR/set top box on the market in Australia at this time and I for one am very happy with it.

I give this little piece of electronic marvel 4.8 stars. Would give it 5 stars but for one missing feature. While it allows you to set a reminder to watch a show in the future and gives an on-screen reminder before the show starts, it does not actually change to the channel for which the reminder was set. To me it would make much more sense to automatically change to the channel when the desired show starts. Hopefully this will be an enhancement in a future firmware upgrade.

I've just bought 1 x Fetch Mighty to record TV. Telstra TV box doesn't record live TV. Using Fetch for recording Free2Air does not cost anything. You can buy most of their premium channel bundles for $AU20/ mo. Then there is a movie box of 30 movies / month for another $2 / mo. And, you can sign in to many streaming subscription services on the box. The best part, the search feature will search through everything you have access to (Free2Air, Premium channels, & any subscriptions). I've also bought 2 x Fetch Mini, which can also program the Mighty to record for it, and playback any recordings on the Mini (the mini by itself does not record). The limit is 3 boxes on the one subscription (which I think should be 4- come on Fetch - set a better limit). Also, the ... MoreI've just bought 1 x Fetch Mighty to record TV. It tells me that I can either set the limit to 2 or 3 - by telling it how good my bandwidth is, so I was disappointing with those two limitations. Finally, my internet usage and my wifi usage has gone way up. Use the Ethernet wired connection if you can. With 3 boxes - think like you need gamer bandwidth internet and wifi. I could not use the subscription to watch on a laptop, only iOS and Android app.Sick of Foxtel Consider Fetch. Big outlay, but you'll be saving money in a few months.4 1/2 stars

This was hopless as it kept freezing when using through the TV for live TV channels. It was great when using for catch up tv or subscription but that was only a small part of our use. We wanted it to record TV channels which hardly worked because it kept freezing and dropping out. We returned it within the week. We now have a different brand and it works perfectly.
We have had three Topfield PVRs. Looking around for a replacement PVRs, I found references to Fetch. I ws unaware of it's PVR function, so looked further. We are very happy with this as a PVR, and a "Catch-up Box". It is probably a little easier to use then the Topfields, but has many extra functions as well. Some of the additional functions we like are the ability to select start from beginning when choosing a programme from the EPG, able to access Netflix from the same remote, and the ability to search for a programme/movie across multiple streaming services, even if we aren't subscribed-then we can decide to subscribe/rent that programme/movie. It is pretty close to a one-box-does-it-all
What can I say other then I love it. Streaming apps, can even cast to it. Can buy or rent movies which I don't do though or events like UFC. Live tv of course, series recording. Good tv guide Good support Voice search with a great remote Good packages to subscribe to. Can even connect to my home network and stream my videos from that network.
After many years of faithful service, I replaced my Gen 3 Mighty with the new model. While the firmware version was the same, the ease of setup is not a patch on the old one, specifically the network configuration which doesn't "stick." It took well over a day to work out how to set it up and if ever the network connection goes out, it's a long and painful process to get it working again. I'm going to try a new router, but I think it's the Fetch. It's a piece of rubbish. Note I have 30 years experience in IT.
We loved the remote and we loved that the catchup TV apps were all in one place. Liked the EPG. However, the TV tuner was awful. Every hour or less, the screen would pixelate and go completely grey. The only way to get the picture back was to completely unplug the box and reset - missing 4-5 of the show. Lots of internet searching kept bringing us back to the same issue - poor TV tuner. We took it back to the Good Guys and bought a different brand - 100% happy now with no issues.
Ive been using the Fetch Mighty Tuner PVR for about three weeks. The initial set up was simple. The basic operation of the menus is easy to pick up and there are on-screen prompts for most common actions associated with each screen. I bought this to replace an old PVR which also allowed me to simultaneously record a large number of television stations. Its not connected to a paid TV service but I do use it lots for catch-up TV. This machine is heavily oriented toward paid services and if you dont use them you may find all the prominent menu features annoying. My two main performance complaints to date are the inability to jump short distances to skip recorded adds and the limited time period you can see on screen for the TV guide. Using the App TV guide to set timers is much easier, but it does not show you if there are timers already set. On balance Im still happy with the purchase.
Our last fetch stopped working after seven years off daily use. We tried to go without the fetch box as streaming services are far more prevalent and it is not a must. However, we realised how much free to air TV we recorded and how good a recording device still is to enable us to watch recordings when we want BUT also the ease to watch streaming services through the fetch device. So we brought the new generation fetch box. Its simple to use and set up and does exactly what it says it will do. Its an awesome little device.
