I am pleasantly surprised. The gameplay is miles ahead of what I remember from FIFA games. It's fluid, creative and takes a lot of time to master. No longer are you tied to rails with only a few control options. You now have an exhaustive list of controls including agile dribbling, customisable passing and shooting options, different ways to control runs of the ball and much more. The ball still feels a little 'light' and almost floats but nothing game-breaking. It's also a lot more unpredictable than before with lots of collisions, spills and loose balls. The biggest thing for me is that it doesn't feel fake or forced - each game is unique and the replay value is still there many games into career mode. All in all, it's a really competent on-pitch experience that gives PES a run for its money. Then, obviously, you move on to the off-field experience. Having real music, intros, stadiums, kits etc. makes a huge difference to the player. It's incredibly immersive. Finally, the career mode is miles better than what I remember. With player happiness, sharpness, training and development there is plenty of man-management going on. Having the ability to manually negotiate contracts and transfers in a fantastic little mini-game is also very welcome. You can also sim games and drop-in/drop-out at will which gives a sort of football manager/FIFA hybrid which is excellent for giving players a full career mode experience without having to play every single minute of every single game. Taking control of key fixtures is essential but you are welcome to watch more simple games from a birds-eye management view. And if things are going surprisingly badly, just put yourself in the game to try and turn things around. It's an excellent addition. Not the perfect football game but as an overall experience, it is very hard to beat.

Gunsmith is neat. Good sound design. Ground War is fun on occasion. Some of maps feel like they were not designed for certain gamemodes. Unlocks can feel extremely grindy and unfun. Warzone takes up way too much space and needs the option to be installed separately.

Bought this game during Black Friday, made the purchase and it was pretty much ready the next day for curbside pickup. It has become very easy to make purchases in this way, for sure recommend to do this while we are in covid. Game download wasnt too long, enjoy the new color and format layout of the game compared to Fifa 20. Colors while playing the game with the new jerseys for this year are better than last year. Stadiums, crowds, and the fields themselves look much better. The difficulty levels seems a bit harder on Career Mode, which is good, it entertains you a bit more. Controls of the players is different, playing defense is always hard, but passes, crosses, kicks and finishing seem to be more accurate. So far its very good and entertaining

Hard to Recommend

As a buyer of the last ten or so FIFA's, this one stands out as mechanically the worst one yet.Decent graphics, but I still think some of the players just look WAY OFF. and this fifa's engine is WORSE than '20, which is almost hard to understand! The game makes it so easy to attack, and much harder to defend. They obviously emphasize FUT and online play because the computer is the weirdest AI to play against. on the higher difficulties, you are stuck with an AI where, no matter what player or team they are playing as, they are way more likely to out-possess you. they do the weirdest trick moves and play in a manner that is just weird, I have no other way of describing it. Otherwise, it will be the first FIFA I do not buy in years. This one is the first one I TRULY regret buying at launch.

I don't know Euros, or why I need to
17 September 2021

I have been playing FIFA games since 2001, at least. I am obsessed with soccer and enjoy playing versions with updated rosters, fewer glitches, and smooth gameplay. This iteration has all of that, sure. But when I was playing Manager mode, playing as the Manager of the Premier League Yankees (MUFC), a player's contact renewal came up. Contact renewal. But for whatever reason, a transfer fee was included. I ain't so bright, so entered zero, I mean I already had player on roster. Long story short, my management was terminated (and I was dominating...on "Professional" difficulty). Left such a poor taste in my mouth, haven't played it since.

Easily and by far the worse iteration of the FIFA football that has been consistently going down hill for years. It has continued to play into the hands of individuals who think good football is characterised by ball juggling acrobats that can run with the ball through teams of other players to score, at the expense of defensive prowess and a tactical appreciation of the game, good arrangement, positioning and passing. Why on earth do we continue to buy it? Simply because we want player updates to our favourite teams and because FIFA know they can continue to charge the earth for this, while conning people into thinking they have improved gameplay, when all they have done is introduced change for its own sake. Truly, truly awful. No longer a game for adults - this ... MoreEasily and by far the worse iteration of the FIFA football that has been consistently going down hill for years. Pratical Gaming at a Lower Price

The product came as is with no scratches or marks on the CD or box. Call of Duty tends to be around $60 dollars digitally on multiple online stores, so being able to purchase a CD copy for cheaper is a great idea. I would highly recommend individuals to consider this route if you can never catch the latest COD games on sale digitally. Overall, I am happy with this product for being easily obtainable by the seller, and the game having no installation or performance issues.

Two steps back
8 April 2021

The first issue with this game is the colour of the pitch, which is a drab shade of grey/green (not to mention, in addition, the terrible texture of the US pitches). This cannot be changed on most modes. The problem is quite annoying, has been reported in many official forums, and cannot understand why EA does not bother to release a fix yet. The second issue is the gameplay, as the AI does not seems to work so well in the defence department. This means that it is almost impossible to end a match without conceding any goals. Finally, I still have not been able to work out how to play the proper World Cup, or UEFA League, or the South American cups, as was widely advertised. In a summary, this game seems to be a good two steps backwards when compared to FIFA2, which ... MoreThe first issue with this game is the colour of the pitch, which is a drab shade of grey/green (not to mention, in addition, the terrible texture of the US pitches). William's review of FIFA 21 Next Level Edition PS5 - Steelbook
25 February 2021

Pros: I only buy a new FIFA game every few years as the changes are not often enough to justify buying a new game every year. The last FIFA game I owned was FIFA 19, and the changes made between then and now are quite significant, especially with the improved capabilities of the PS5. Loading times are fast, Haptic Touch feedback on the controller is a nice touch, and there are small graphical improvements between the PS4 and PS5 version. Gameplay feels smooth and career mode has been given an extra boost, which is great given that I spend most of my time on this mode. There are improved stadium noises and a new camera angle in-game to simulate a ‘real game’ on TV, which I really enjoy. VOLTA is a fun game mode which has been around for a few years now, with ‘Groundbreakers’ (players you can unlock through playing VOLTA games) such as Lewis Hamilton, Anthony Joshua, Diplo, Dua Lipa and a load of other football and non-football stars.Cons: FIFA Ultimate Team has not changed drastically since the last FIFA I had - personally I think it’s just a way of EA making money from micro-transactions year on year, but it’s obviously not a compulsory part of the game so this is more of a personal grievance. The graphics are not that different from the FIFA 19 I had on my PS4 - there have been small improvements and the scans of players look better, but overall you will not notice a huge difference. The EA servers are the same as they have been for years, terrible.

FIFA has been getting worse every year since FIFA 08 however this edition really takes the biscuit and surely it cannot get any worse. You can tell Ultimate Team is really their only focus, manager mode is an absolute pile of rubbish.Roll on the all new PES 2022 rebuilt on Unreal Engine. Some of you are probably wondering why I even bought it, most probably question themselves however I chose it for a few reasons to play against my brother who is in a different country and because I changed from PS4 Pro to Series X which on the PS I played the life out of PES 20 and with them only releasing a season update for PES21 (kits etc) i thought no I’ll wait like they have chose too... it’s on GamePass but sadly on Xbox you cannot get the “patch” for correcting things if ... MoreFIFA has been getting worse every year since FIFA 08 however this edition really takes the biscuit and surely it cannot get any worse. Pes gameplay and manager mode are miles ahead. In my opinion you only get fifa for FUT because it really isn’t a football sim, it’s extremely arcade like.
