A nice, hefty safe, it nearly killed the UPS man who kindly carried it into my house.The mechanism works fine and it is easy to set up, I haven't bolted it to the floor yet, but I will do in due course. The reason for four stars was that the safe has some minor damage on the top left rear corner, it is dented with some white powder around the dent. The powder is no longer coming out. It looks like the safe has been dropped at some time. Perhaps this is why the price was competitive?I don't intend to return it as it works fine and is too heavy to move again.

I purchased a First Alert 36.8L Digital Waterproof Fire Resistant Safe recently to store my important documents and I am very pleased with the features of the safe and its ease of use. It fits snugly into a spare space in my bedroom. I can now rest easy that if there is a fire or break in my documents are safe from fire and water damage and secure from intruders.

This is a great safe for what it is intended to be, a water and fire disaster safe. This is not a safe that you want to use to protect valuables. It does not seem like it would be very secure if attacked by a burglar. But of course the burglar would have to have some type of prying device to physically open the safe. So in this regard, it would probably protect the contents from a common burglar looking for a quick in and out crime.

The product arrived sooner than expected. It appears to be of very good quality and well-constructed. Because it is so heavy, I don't think the floor mount is necessary but it was great that the hardware is included. I would definitely recommend this particular safe to anyone needing some extra protection for their valuables. It is also a plus that the code can be personalized and changed as needed.
