Fisher & Paykel Evora Hybrid Full Face Mask Extra Small

In a price comparison for this mask fit pack My CPAP website was in the middle of the pack. I chose to order from them as they had all of the other products I wanted in stock. This is the first time I’ve tried this mask as my local CPAP provider doesn’t stock this brand. The downside was I often woke up with swollen eyes as the mask sat too high on my nose and put pressure on my eye area and I always had deep mask lines on my face that took several hours to disappear.Over the years I periodically search the net for alternatives including custom fit masks but there is nothing available in Australia. I came across the F&P Evora mask in one of my searches and I decided it was worth trying it even if it meant I was out of pocket if it didn’t fit. None of my local CPAP suppliers stocked it so there was no option to trial before buying. What convinced me to take a chance was F&P Evora had a fit pack so I could try all sizes in one go.Miracle of miracles it sealed! And it sat below my nose so no more swollen eyes! I still get mask lines occasionally but nowhere near as deep and they fade quickly. I’m so happy!Update 26/7/22.I've downgraded my original 5 star review to 3 stars. When I originally wrote my review I was sleeping on a recliner due to an injury preventing me from lying completely flat. The mask worked perfectly as previously noted. However, once I was able to move back to being in bed and slept in my usual side position I found the mask did not seal properly. I've since gone back to my ResMed AirTouch F20 face mask.

Excellently built mask. Very comfy headware. Silicone is just the right combo of soft but not slippy. Can work with facial hair if you set it right, which can't be said for all hybrid masks. Very quiet with one exception (see below).*However*, beware if you have a long nose. The nose seal has a small "lip" that goes over the tip of your nose to prevent leaks, and this can press down painfully during the night - almost worse than how normal full-face masks press on the bridge of the nose. I was not able to loosen mine out without compromising the overall mask seal, so I had to return it. Definitely a "try-before-you-commit" kinda mask. Potentially excellent, but doesn't fit every face.Another minor niggle is the downward-facing vents. On paper, great if you sleep ... MoreExcellently built mask. Very comfy headware. I previously used an Amara face mask which is very similar in style. While I've had the Evora face mask as a replacements for only a few weeks, it seems to be of a much higher quality, particularly in respect of the straps which keep the mask in place. The Amara straps stretched out of shape within three months and were expensive to replace. Also, the mask itself leaked constantly, no matter how tight the straps were. This in turn caused my eyes to be irritated constantly. I do have high cheek bones which seems to make it difficult to find a suitable mask. However, the silicon seal of the Evora mask comes up higher around the nose which stops any leakage. It is very practical to have the fit kit with the Evora mask. Almost great

I have been working my way through masks trying to find the best overall fit and user experience.This mask fits very well with minimal leakage, and it has several different adjustment points that allow you to tweak it to your face.Two problems:The clips use to fasten the lower straps are not user friendly. In middle of the night they are a pain. Use magnets!I get a constant hissing leak where the swivel coupling attaches to the main tube.One more thing: Add a quick disconnect please!

Difficult to Adjust

I tried this mask as an alternative to my ResNed AirFit F30. It is very difficult to adjust. The headgear while strong is poorly designed for fit and adjustment.It has NO magnetic clips for the lower straps. Very hard to attach the clips. The mash itself caused me considerable pain from rubbing my nose while asleep. I never could get it adjusted properly after multiple nights. It is also difficult to remove at night if you get up and of course difficult to put back on. All and all not the product I would expect from F & P. I went back to my F30 which is much easier to use and adjust.

Disappointed in this mask

I was hoping this would be "the mask" for me. But, I quit using the mask within a week. There were two reasons: the expulsion of air is noisy and not diffused. It goes straight out the front of the mask through two vent holes. My wife was going crazy! The second reason was the mask has abruptly upraised sides. This configuration makes the mask much less stable for side sleepers. To give the mask credit: it was comfortable, VERY effective and easy to use. Unfortunately, I had to revert to my old mask system by ResMed. It is, in my case, definitely the lesser of two evils.

Fits Great. Next to Nothing for Leakage

I tried the F&P Full Face Mask to compare it to AirFit F20 i regularly use. To be clear the F20 works but its always in the way. I'm a stomach sleeper and i wear an eye mask to maximize sleep. the f20 just stays in the way. cumbersome is the word that comes to mind. Anyways onto the F&P. Zero major leaks and cleans up easy. Instant win in my book. It's now my favorite mask.

Mask

The design of the mask is awesome. I've tried dozens of masks over a period of 17 years at least. I really never had a really good fit. They tell not to over tighten. That was the only way I was able to get a seal. The problem is I have a small nose. With the Evora, it has straps to tighten as well. Plus an extra small. I'm using the x-small and having great results. I have neuropathy in my hands. It was a little hard at first. Now I listen for the click and it's on and away I go. For me, this design is amazing. Five Star Rating from me

Mask frame not durable

I got this mask after my initial experience using a nasal mask was not successful. For the most part, I like this mask, as I could breathe through my mouth if I got congested. I ultimately changed, though because the mask frame began to leak and therefore no pressure could be generated. When calling Apria, I video chatted with one of their specialists and he couldn’t figure out a solution. Because I was not due for a replacement through my insurance yet I had to purchase a new mask out of pocket. This happened again less than a month later with the replacement that I purchased). Mask is comfortable, Velcro pieces peel bit of a leakage issue

Two things I like the mask butI feel like the nasal hole is not big enough. Often end up breathing through the mouth because I dont like breathing through a pin-hole. (Small Mask Size). I dont like the straps leakage a big problem when I change positions. Also the velcro is peeling off on the edges. F & P I expect better on this aspect.
