O ordered this as my second pair. I see this review section here as if this has already shipped. It is not here. The first pair I ordered should arrive any day. I am tracking it. It will have my name on it.\nIt is confusing, as I wanted two clippers. So I ordered another pair after I ordered the first one. The review page appears only After the object has arrived, right? I got this review , but there is nothing to review. Thank you

Comfortable handles. Narrow jaw opening. Sharp.

This pruner has a good feel in your hand. The extra cushion is a welcome comfort when pruning a lot of plants and larger hedge branches for additional shaping. This is the second pair of these I've owned and I will never get them again. The cushion grip slides off the metal handle. When I was carrying them by the handles the metal part slipped out, leaving the grips in my hand and the tip stabbed me in the foot. The injury took several days to heal. My husband got me the second pair, thinking the first ones were just faulty, but they're both the same. Neither one cuts well. My flower stems get bent, but not cut when I use just the tip of the pruner. Use with extreme caution, or just find another brand that's safe.

Disappointed

I have three rows of domesticated muscadines...14 "plants...28 vines. Have to be cut back every year in February. Have two or three pairs of bypass cutters...one pair of Fiskars that are probably 8-9 years old. Decided that I would buy a new set this year. Different design...handle pivot had been redesigned. After one vine, they started "catching," not opening all the way when the handles were released. Spring is strong, but they rub just enough in the pivot area that you have to push them back open manually after every cut. Very tiresome. The spring should take care of opening them back up for the next cut. In their defense, they are extremely sharp. They will cut paper like scissors. Good, comfortable design. Thumb locking mechanism is brilliant. Sharpens well. Tolerates mistreatment well.
16 March 2024

Worth the extra money. Ive abused mine for years of frequent use and they have not let me down. Most importantly for my small-ish hand, I can operate the lock easily and dont eben need to look at it, it is that easy. I have used expensive secateurs and they have been useless for one-handed locking. The blade sharpens up well and stays pretty sharp despite the abuse I give it. I buy fiskars everything as they are good quality for the price.

Holds edges well
28 April 2024

I have the same pair of Fiskars pruners for 20 years. It looks like the same model line - it does not seem to have changed much in design. Fitting a pair of pruners is a very indivualised think but it fits me perfectly. After 20 years, it is as good as new. The trick, I think, is to keep the edges sharp. And this blade holds its edge really well.

Love these seceteurs. Use them all the time for my job.
23 June 2024

Bought these to use for my job as a land surveyor where I'm constantly pruning shrubs and small branches to access property boundaries. These have not let me down. Still very sharp after 1.5 years of use, and the locking mechanism is great. I can just reach down into my tool bag, grab these out and lock/unlock with one hand without even looking at the mechanism. I have not experienced any lock failure unlike some of the reviewers here. Mine have been great. I keep them in a seceteur pouch so it doesn't pierce through my tool bag. About to order another pair for home. Would definitely recommend.

Spring action in the pruning shears-not very good.
13 June 2024

Though they can cut, these shears lack one of the more important actions -- spring action. It doesn't jump back to the original position after cutting a limb. That was one of the things that made pruning easy in the past, and these don't have a very strong spring action. so you are pulling the handles apart to cut into the next limb as it hasn't opened quite enough to give you a good position to fit over the limb. So, I gave it a 3 stars for that reason. I do not recommend.

Three times is a charm (or not)
9 May 2022

I originally used this same product for years and was very happy with it. In 2021, I bought the Fiskars Pruner and got home and the product would not work. I returned this pruner and got my money back and bought another one. On the 2nd purchase, I found that it wouldn't work again! The pruner would 'lock up' and would not function properly. This is using it straight out of the package and I had not even used both purchases even one day. I didn't return the 2nd purchase. On the 3rd purchase of the SAME product I took off the plastic cover of the pruner and made sure it worked first. Then I bought the pruner in-store. I did use the pruner recently and I feel comfortable moving forward. Before 2021 I would rate this product a five. After 2021, the pure frustration of buying this product three times, makes me less confident. I didn't see any other pruner options in the in-store area so I didn't have any other products to choose from. Perhaps I should have looked at a competitor.

Very bad quality
28 June 2024

The sole purpose and function of the pruners is to be able to cut off thin shrub branches. If the brand new tool fails to perform its only job in less than a season, then, in my opinion, the quality of such tool is not adequate to the declared characteristics and, as such, should be replaced upon request with a better quality product. I used this tool to cut off 1/4”-3/8” in diameter branches. The blades are completely dull. Fiskars refuses to exchange the tool.
