Very handy mattock. I bought it mainly because I have other Fiskars garden tools, and they are superb quality. The handle is light, but the long length is more suited to very tall people. I used this to help with excavating big tree roots and dead lawn.

Needed to clear hard clay soil and in places with lots of roots. Very effective tool for the jobs. Little to no hard jarring; assume Isocore is effective shock absorber. Tool looks almost too good to use. Have not tried the cheap and cheerful alternatives to compare if the extra cost made a difference to usability.

Have only used it twice so far, removes plant and tree roots like a boss. Safety head is reassuring. Highly recommended.
Brilliant does the work well
I bought this as had a whole garden to dig out, and unfortunately the soil was clay. I considered using a spade/shovel, but this just made the job so easy. Every now and then you buy something that you think 'heck I am glad I bought that'. This was one of those moments. Very little vibration so could use all day. Well worth paying the extra for quality.
I bought this in lieu of replacing my existing pick axe handle. I am so happy that I did, because it makes so many gardening and landscaping tasks easy, especially in the clay-based soils at my home. I'd highly recommend.
