Fantastic axe. I had a very large ash tree pollarded the other week. The tree guys cut the wood into rings for me and told me to get an axe to cut the wood up to use on my log burner. They recommend this Fiskars product. It has certainly lived up to the task. It cuts through the rims like a knife through butter.

Much much better than my cheap axe that often got stuck and took much effort to part them apart and it hurt....Though it was expensive relatively, having considered the pros and cons I rather pay a bit more to save some energy and cut off the chances of being hurt by the vibration( with my previous axe)I got the L side for my firewood oven if you have the budget go for this, it is worth the money.If you want a tool to split wood for use as firewood, this is the tool that is built for the purpose.BTW, thank you for the speedy delivery.

Amazing axe

This is an amazing axe. Cuts through logs with ease. Not cheap but definitely worth it

Fiskars x21L

This is a great splitter if you don't know to much about axes but want results,this is what id buy... Also it would do just as good as well known expensive custom axes but at a reasonable price, the hand seems great and I don't see the handle becoming loose anytime soon. Perfect for camping and 4wd touring just make sure you get the solid compact fiskars x7 aswell that would be a good combo for the small jobs and large splitting.

Industry standard equipment

Fiskars don't disappoint. This is a capable splitting axe, I've been sending it through some 30cm diameter, 20cm thick cherry rounds with ease. The extra few centimetres of length it has over the X17 works well with my longer arms and increases the head speed.

Lightweight with great handle design

This is a very well made axe. The grip is fantastic and even though it was my first attempt at splitting dense wood, it went rather smoothly. You need to get the swing and the angle of attack just right. (See Fiskars own videos). The top corner has started to show slight signs of damage, but I hope it would get sorted with a bit of sharpening.

Quality product, adequate to my expectations

I had seen this hatchet very convenient at a friend's house. Impeccable for splitting small wood (lit fire, barbecue, ..) I recommend this tool. However, have a bigger size for larger logs. Good quality material, solid handle.

The best axe bar none

Having read other positive reviews and owning other Fiskars products, I gave this a try. Was concerned about the relatively light weight compared to other axes I have owned, but it is a brilliant axe, so effortless to use. And the long, long guarantee is a bonus.
