This version of a "fit bit" has been one of the biggest hits with my 8 year old grandson. He absolutely loves it and because it is aimed at his age group it does not have anything on it to distract him from using it simply as a way of working out his daily progress. It tells him about the world around him and keeps him informed and entertained without the worry of extras such as inappropriate video games or access to Youtube. He absolutely loves it and the price was something that drew me to this particular fitbit, plus the reviews and articles were excellent.I totally recommend this to anyone thinking about getting one for their child/grandchild without paying out for an unnecessary expensive market brand. The order was dispatched and arrived quickly and the two year guarantee that John Lewis gives was an added bonus.Good value for money, excellent.

Kids Fitbit. Concept is good but applications are very limited. Good for tracking steps and activity minutes. Wish they would allow more access to features for the kids version. Regular Fitbits can't be linked under the family account so this is the only option for kids. As others have stated the band isn't great quality either but a new band can be purchased for decent prices. Same bands used for the Fitbit inspire 2 model.

My 7 year old had been saving up for one for months, so when they went on sale we were SO excited! We were able to get one for my 5 year old too. The 5 year old is still getting used to having it on his wrist, so it isn't on all the time, but both of them love it! They love the way the Minion is always doing something different, and cheering them on! They are motivated to keep moving and it is great to know more about their sleep. My son with really sensitive skin got a bit of an irritation on his wrist after wearing it non-stop for 4 days, but a quick wash of the band each night is preventing that now. Charging is quick, and lasts longer than I expected. I am happy that you can change the strap - I think this will be useful in the future! I am having some challenges with the user interface in the software on my phone - but only because the process is a bit clunky to switch between devices (I have 4 FitBit products total now on my account), and it keeps saying it lost the signal - but a quick disconnect from this device and re-pair of the bluetooth seems to fix it. I am hopeful that this could get better with time as this is a software thing - but will be reaching out to FitBit to provide my review on this too. It doesn't affect my kids' experience with it, nor the function of it in any way! Very happy we decided to purchase it!

Other than telling the time and counting steps, absolutely useless! The manufacturer claims the device is for tracking Sleep and Steps. Almost all devices can track steps accurately so let me tell you about the sleep tracking part...Our 7-years old sleeps pretty consistently from 8PM to 5AM so we were interested to get some insights about his sleep.Night #1, Although he was sleeping for over 8 hours, this Fitbit tracker showed that he was sleeping for 4:27 and awake for over 3 hours!! We got concerned so I've decided to conduct an experiment to see if his sleep quality is really that bad or if it is the Fitbit that is bad.Night #2, I put an Apple Watch on one of his hands and a Garmin watch on the other to try to establish a base line for consistency. Not surprisingly, both trackers showed over 7 hours of sleep and under 30 minutes of 'Awake' time with sleep score over 86!Night #3 I put the Fitbit back on him with the Garmin tracker on the other hand. The results? The Garmin tracker showed almost 7 hours sleep time and 42 minutes Awake time with 83 sleep score... The Fitbit showed only 4:27 hours sleep time and OVER 3 HOURS Awake time!!!Conclusion: If you want to track your little one's sleep, absolutely avoid this FitBit. If you just want him to have a watch the tells the time and counts steps, it will do.
The finish and appearance is good. Battery life is excellent. However, you need to squeeze the sides of the watch to activate the screen and it's not very responsive. Activity tracking is below par for the price point. It is very basic. No HR monitor and very limited activities. App functionality is boring. Straight out of the box, the watch prompted me for a firmware updated. It will not update - tried all tips from the help forums. Online support is poor. I would recommend purchasing an equivalent priced. Bluetooth keeps dropping out. Huwawei or another smart watch.
Only has the most basic fitness and sleep tracking features. No heart rate monitor, no workout tracking, no notifications from your apps. Nothing to make exercise fun for kids or motivate them to move more. Only basic step tracking and sleep tracking. Parent's can't see much detail without looging into the app as the child. Not good value for money.
Very nice activity tracker for kids. The screen was a little small but that could be preferential. There were options to change the face of the watch in the app and it being water proof was also a bonus. My daughter took it into the pool and it worked fine afterwards. The app had a lot of features that let you track and reward your child’s progress so all in all a good buy. The small screen was a drawback and although the battery lasted several days the charger was a little finicky and when you went to take it off it felt like you were going to break the watch!
My grandson (age 10) was excited to receive his Fitbit. We got it right before going on holiday. While it did hold up to water wear during the visits to the Water Park and the pool, he almost lost the watch sitting in the car. The pin came unhinged and separated the watch buckle from the strap. Luckily all of the watch components were found inside of the car. He still likes the tracker. But I'm not impressed with the flimsiness of the band. The verdict is still out on how long it will last him.
The setup for this thing if you dont already own one has got to be one of the most painstaking processes I ever had to go through to get something set up. I set this up originally back when my daughter got it for Christmas, and when she finally went to use it, we had to go through it again. I set up my daughters account only to find out that she isnt 13, so now I have to set up an account for a fitbit of which I do not have. You can use google to set up your account, but apparently you cannot use your google password because fitbit doesnt find it to be "secure enough". Therefore I had to log into my account using google, then change my password for fitbit, to which it had password requirements which it did not list, so I had to keep adding numbers and capitals and ... MoreThe setup for this thing if you dont already own one has got to be one of the most painstaking processes I ever had to go through to get something set up. I THEN had to go login on the phone that is going to connect to the fitbit (which was my daughters phone), and create a family and set her up that way. The amount of stuff that you have to go through to get a little activity tracker set up is unreal.
I purchased this band for my son, since both me and my wife have fitbit bands. The device itself does have a padding around to avoid damage if bumped accidentally into something, however it sometimes makes hard to push the buttons on the side. The wristband looks a bit cheap - especially the closing pin so we'll see how long it last. On the negative side, I was not aware that Fitbit discontinued their Windows app and now requires either an Android or iOS device in order to pair your Fitbit. My son has neither, so we had to pair his band with my phone - which is already paired with my band. Fitbit supports this, and you can switch between parent and kid view in the app, but the implementation is definitely not ideal. You can only have one device paired at the time (either yours or your kid's) and switch between them requires acknowledging the same dialog all the time. Syncing is also somewhat of a bane for Fitbit, and at times it does just get stuck, and you need to try some voodoo by restarting your Fitbit, restarting the app or even rebooting your phone to find the right combination to make it work. In the overall, my son likes it but there are definitely some drawbacks if you can't pair it with its own phone or tablet, in which case I would not recommend it.
