So I had this for about a year and a half, and it worked perfectly and did everything I wanted it to do in that time. But one day literally out of the blue the battery stopped holding a charge at all and the screen wouldn’t turn on anymore. I talked to support and did everything I could but I could only manage to get the screen to turn on for a few minutes at most, and it wouldn’t hold a charge for more than an hour. It seems like a lot of others had the same problems a year or so in. I was extremely careful with it and never did anything that should have damaged it. It seems like newer fitbits are basically disposable, so I wouldn’t get this or any newer ones if you want them to last more than a year. I’ve switched back to my old charge 2, and it’s still going strong.

I dont believe im just unlucky to have gone through 4 devices in 6 years. Going to look into a switch, maybe samsung or garmin.

I love the FitBit Charge 4. The battery life is excellent. You can definitely use the watch for 3 days without having to charge it. The device is water resistant. I wouldn’t shower with it. The watch face is detachable and you can purchase several styles of bands. I enclosed three photos of the style bands that I bought. One is dressy and looks like jewelry, one is more for work and the other is for working out. They also sell bands that can be worn around your arm and ankle, around your neck, as well as the usual wristband. The app has other features like personal training and different workouts. However, those need to be purchased. The app also has social interaction. You can find friends and family or meet new fitness enthusiast from different levels. It’s a great place to meet like-minded people with a goal. I highly recommend a Fitbit to anyone who is just starting out on a fitness journey to maintain their progress and stay motivated. The Charge4 , goes for about $100 and is available anywhere you would buy a watch. The Fitbit has great customer service . It also comes with a charger, the vans, and a limited one year warranty from the date you register it. You can also buy an extended warranty through customer service ( the number is available within the app and on the box ). I strongly recommend that you purchase. I’ve enjoyed it. This is my second style I had the Fitbit three and Advance to four. They do have newer models, but I really enjoyed this one.

I've used this product over the past several years. When compared to other FitBit products I've used previously, this definitely has given me the longest use. The batery life is very good as well, going several days in between charges. Aside from knowing how many steps I've taken, I really appreciate knowing how my resting heart rate and sleep are affected as well. I really like the simplicity of the design as well. It's a bit hard to read the time in the sun, so that is why I give 4 stars.

I like the step tracking and sleep features. The problem with the Charge 4 that is unfortunately very common is that the pieces on the side of the device that snap onto wrist bands tend to snap off. They had to send me a new one because it happened while under warranty. I found some bands that wrap around the whole face instead of snapping on, so now I use those. Also, the software has glitches for me that sometimes make the sleep feature inaccurate. For the most part I do love it. But I would not get this particular model again.

*This review is for the FitBit Charge 5. PROS: This year I’ve been focused on building healthy habits, including walking more and incorporating more exercise and activity. My FitBit has been an excellent way to track my progress and gamify aspects of my health journey. I use the Fitbit app as well, which offers free features plus as a 6-month trial of the premium subscription which I have since renewed. I use the app to access workout videos, track my sleep progress, experiment with meditation, and be more conscious about my hydration. I would definitely recommend it for those getting started with their health journey, and I especially like it to track my heart rate when working out to earn minutes in the fat burn and cardio zones. the charge also lasts fairly long. ... More*This review is for the FitBit Charge 5. CONS: - Limited UI options for charge 5, and lacks many smart features that some people may want on their devices. It is primarily for tracking steps, heart rate and exercise and not for much more. I believe there are other apps available for download on other models of FitBit, but not in this model. - Like possibly any wrist wearable, it often misreads movement as steps so it’s not terribly exact. - Gets sweaty and therefore even after cleaning it, it sometimes doesn’t feel hygienic to be wearing it to bed which is needed for health trends and sleep progress. - Sometimes has a hard time reading heart rate

Fitbit quality has greatly declined.

I had a Fitbit Charge 4 previously. I wore it continuously for 3 years. It was a GREAT product. When it quit working, I ordered a refurbished one which did not work at all. I returned the refurbished model for a new Charge 4, but it also is not working properly. The face is so dim it is unreadable in the daylight. Fitbit quality has deteriorated to being way too much money for a watch that does not work properly! I am VERY disappointed with this Fitbit. I will not purchase another Fitbit product!

Too many functions, too complicated, but appears very accurate.

I received one of these as a Christmas gift last December and returned it because it was so much more difficult to use than other cheaper trackers i have had in the past. Unfortunately, you get what you pay for and i finally grew weary of the cheaper trackers being so grossly inaccurate. I am old and have several health problems .When i work out I need accurate information readily available to monitor primarily my heart rate, so i dont exceed my target rate for any extended period of time. Unfortunately, i am having a very hard time getting the face of my Charge 4 to open up without having to tap on it multiple times, and that isnt easy while on a treadmill going at a fast pace. I also dont understand why Fitbit couldnt provide a color face option so i could see the info more easily. I do like that they provide many options for what shows on the face when you open it up. I have been reading the user manual to try and tweak several areas of the setup options, but i need to do a much better job of that and ask Fitbit for help if I continue to struggle. Finally, the charger for my Charge 4 sucks compared other trackers i have owned which are much easier to accurately connect to the tracker. i realize that Fitbit wants its own proprietary charger like Apple, but I prefer other trackers where the end of the tracker fits into a USB port to charge. I havent been able to remove the strap from the tracker without fear that i will have to pull so hard i break something.Fortunately, the small strap which came installed on the tracker is just barely large enough for me. Overall, this charger is much more complicated than i need or want, but i will probably keep it because of its accuracy. I had previously bought an off brand which was much simpler to operate and synch with their app, but it turned out to be junk..totally inaccurate...it was geared toward Seniors which is why i bought it...why doesnt Fitbit try to provide a tracker or two geared to Seniors which is simpler and easier to operate? If they do I'm not aware of it.

Waste of money. Not a serious fitness tracker.

Disappointing product. Not for anyone who is serious about actually tracking exercise activities. The GPS is a joke. Takes forever to connect and still loses GPS on at least 30%-40% of runs or rides which means elevation gain is no longer tracked and syncing activity with other fitness tracking apps like Strava is not possible. Additionally, the tracking is not accurate or precise in the least. My girlfriend and I both have the Charge 4 and run together on the same route but get significantly different total mileage. I’ve spoken with FitBit customer service but, aside from advising you to unsync/resync your watch, they have no substantive solutions. Battery life is quickly deteriorating as well. Not a lot more frustrating than having your watch lose GPS or simply die halfway through your outing. Oh, and the charger is a bit flimsy as well. One of the two prongs broke off about two months after purchase so when your watch does die in the middle of your exercise, you can charge right up as soon as your new charger is delivered. In short, if you are just looking for a step counter and heart monitor that displays the time and doesn’t take up a lot of room on your wrist, this watch is a moderately effective, albeit expensive, tool for that but nothing more. If you have any interest in actually tracking your exercise activities, don’t waste your money on the Charge 4.

I've tried a few Fitbit options. I don't want a full-on watch that will annoy me with notifications and unnecessary stuff so a tracker is what I wanted. This is a bit bigger than the inspire HR i had before and around the same size as the fitbit charge 5, which has color but no physical buttons. The best part of this is the physical button because tap to wake doesn't always work and if you're sweaty and your hands are wet you can't use it, so the button is your only option. So, this is the best tracker I've found so far from the fitbit family, even if it's not the most recent. I didn't mind the color screen of the 5 but not being able to use a button was a dealbreaker for me.
