These things are the truth!Out digging with these has been great, no dust/dirt/rocks getting inside the shoe thanks to the lycra gaiter. Fit great, as expected. Went a half size up to accomodate thicker socks in cooler temps.Have walked through puddles, ridden through puddles and they dont soak through, they dry pretty quickly as well.Been putting them theough the wringer, th ey are taking the abuse with grace.

Got these to replace my sam hill five tens. Was sick of getting wet feet and the shoes taking an age to dry being like a sponge.I can 100% confirm these are the complete opposite. Nice dry and warm feet the whole day out. Mixed with some decent waterproof trousers and BAM, you get a winner. Granted they are a little pricy but totally worth it.Ive got thin ankles but i imagine if you have quite large ankles then the top sock part may be a little snug. But yeah buy them.

These are a good winter version boot of my usual Five Ten MTB shoes. They have a similar honeycombed sole which sticks well to flat pedals. The high cut and waterproof uppers protect the feet well. Following advice I bought large to allow thicker winter socks. The only drawback is the difficulty of putting them on! For an agile, flexible and strong youngster it may be no problem, but for me it’s hard work as the entry point is very narrow and tight. They would be much improved with, say, a waterproof Velcro joint up the rear face to allow easy fitting.

Great boot. I've used for every day cycling in the rain, gravel biking in the mountains and also general hiking. They do good in the mud and snow. I would highly recommend for any bike trip. They're comfortable and dry.
Wore the shoes today for a 1hour 30 minute ride in Brechfa forest in Wales, they stayed dry for around 40 minutes but then I could feel that unmistakable squelch! Luckily I had waterproof socks on! They are really tight to put on so I'm surprised water got in! By the end of the trail I pulled them off and tipped the water out of both! My riding buddy had the exact same pair and his were wet inside like mine! So not an isolated incident, we both bought them in different shops! Save your money buy some cheaper shoes and good waterproof socks!
Well made and super grippy sole. Easy to get off and fairly easy to get on. Stylish, comfortable and warm. I’m size UK11 so bought 11.5 to allow second pair of socks. Feel great. Best with close fitting leg wear to stay dry. Cheapest online with 10% off too.
I got caught in 90 mins of torrential rain on my first ride-out wearing these boots and they kept my feet bone dry. (I was wearing waterproof MTB trousers) I am a size 9.5 but went for the size 10 to allow for thermal socks. This was a good move, as getting your feet into them requires a bit of manoeuvring and tugging! Once on they are really comfortable. Pedal grip is exceptional.
Reviews on sites I trust said these were great / near perfect and they are not.Ankle cuff is pretty awkward in person, especially putting on/taking off. Very defining “feature” of the shoe - so unless you really want it to seal yourself in (with rain pants) think hard if you really need/want it.Sole is stiff and they’re reasonably light, but two (non-cuff related) issues I had were: (1) a lot of “head space” above my foot and (2) laces. I know a lot of cycling flat shoes have laces but its a dumb idea. Flat pedals have pins/spikes. Bikes have chainrings. Neither plays well with looped laces… so make sure you tuck them in!
Toe box is narrow! Would have loved it like the other 5/10 products, they did hold the pedal. Maybe one size larger might have helped, but for some reason REI only carries up to 13 even though they came in sizes up to 15. Most brands they carry larger sizes but not these. Also, they are not a very warm shoe for a pair of waterproof shoes, so you going to need to wear thicker socks if it is cold.
Accurate size, only tried them in 40 degree weather so far with very thin socks (purposely) and my feet stayed nice and toasty... they were pretty much the warmest thing on me that day. If we get some cooler weather in the desert Southwest will trial them and update at a later point. Thus far I am rather pleased. Especially in a world where cold weather flats seem to be quite hard to find.
