Fizik Tempo R4 Overcurve Road Shoes White/Black Size 43
The Fizik R4 Tempo Overcurve features a classic aesthetic with an advanced construction technique. A resilient polyurethane laminated material is combined over a comfortable mesh, providing long-lasting foot support. The closure is fast and secure, powered by a micro-adjustable BOA IP1 dial in an Overcurve pattern. This shoe construction features a staggered collar that wraps around the ankle, tracing the natural misalignment of the ankle's two bony protrusions. The result is an asymmetrical shape, with the throat of the shoe curving over the foot from its outside to its inner side. The moderately stiff R4 outsole strikes a balance between comfort and pedaling efficiency, making it a true all-rounder. It has a new, even lower profile, and is structurally optimized with a composition that includes 15% infused carbon fiber. The R4 outsole provides efficient ventilation and internal channelling for temperature regulation. Available in white, this unisex cycling shoe is designed for both men and women, and comes in a size 43.

The shoe not only looks great they fit really well - it is nice to finally see more brands accommodate a wider fit. The cleat fixings are set back a little more than usual which suits me perfect. Adjustment on the fly is easy with the single Boa - 3 long rides in and I can say I love 'em... and that's straight from box to road...

You get what you pay for. Yeah I get the law of diminishing returns relates to cycling almost more than any other sport but when it comes to shoes quality counts. £210 is a lot but these fiziks were heavily discounted and worth every penny. The copper and black ones look ridiculously cool and the extra wide fit ensures day long comfort with no hot spots. Nice one.

Comfortable shoes for long rides. Good looking and stiff enough. My feet have high arches, narrow heels and a very wide forefoot with almost non-tapering toes. A perfect fitting cycling shoe seems impossible to find, but these are close. The toe box feels roomier and more flexible compared to similar sized lake cx237 wide and shimano rp9 wide. Good heel retention, but would be nice with a second boa or a strap at the front. I would size down half a size from shimano/giro. Overall a great shoe. Competitive price and fast shipping from Sigmasports too!

First pair of road shoes and I couldn’t be happier with them. I have size 4 feet with a high arch and finding shoes that are actually wide fit and fit well everywhere else is difficult. These tighten nicely around my feet without pinching anywhere, feel spacious and comfortable in the toe area and light to wear. Got them at a fantastic price and highly recommend if you have wider feet!
There aren't many options out there for those of us with boxy feet but i'm happy to have found these. For comparison sake, I also own a pair of Fiziks' own Terra X5 SPD shoes in a 42. These are comfortable, but on the limits of what my feet will fit into. My little toes always feel squashed in somehow. With these though, there's plenty of wiggle room! (Maybe even too much?) So, I would say they could benefit from a second dial or strap nearer to the front to get a snugger fit. In my case I tested 2 sizes and came away happier with the smaller 41.5 size, the extra width no doubt allowing this. The shoes themselves aren't any wider than normal around the heel area, but I like how they've used a softer fabric on the inside heel to prevent them from rubbing your ... MoreThere aren't many options out there for those of us with boxy feet but i'm happy to have found these. For comparison sake, I also own a pair of Fiziks' own Terra X5 SPD shoes in a 42. It's not usually a problem for me but it's a nice touch. One final note is on the cleat hole positions, they are quite far back which may be a problem for some but as with all shoes it a personal thing. So overall they're just short of perfect, but with the limited choice available, you will be mostly happy, as I am. I've also added a pic for comparison. The left shoe is the Fizik X5 and the right shoe is the Overcurve R4 Wide as reviewed here.
Bought to replace Torch 3.0 that were a touch too narrow. I've got fairly normal sized feet but with a slightly prominent 5th MTPJ, low height forefoot, slim heel/ankle (like many people). Other "wide" shoes are much too large overall volume in the forefoot. The Fizik's are a superb last shape in the forefoot with plenty of space / width where needed, but nice tight fit around the heel. Put it next to your foot; it actually looks the same shape; unlike 90% of other cycling shoes! 45 Length identical to the 45 Specialized; accurately sized for a 45 IMO. Nicely made, no complaints.Cleat position slightly rearward compared to the (overly narrow) R1s I owned previously; which is perfect (bike fitter absolutely despised prior Fizik shoes for that very reason). ... MoreBought to replace Torch 3.0 that were a touch too narrow. Classique black a nice, more practical alternative to White. Single Boa works surprisingly well, but two would be ideal to enable the heel to be tightened right down independently of the rest of the foot. Sole not obviously any less stiff than the "carbon composite" in the Torch 3.0s, but definitely less than the R1's. Of no relevance to me though. These but with 2 Boas & a carbon composite sole (relevant for marketing purposes only really) and Fizik would absolutely clean up at this price-point.
These shoes look and feel very high quality. I have quite flat feet and found the added curve caused my feet to ache a little on the first couple of long rides. However, this soon righted itself. Very happy with this purchase. A great pair of shoes.
Picked up a pair of Fizik Tempo Overcurve R4s from Pedal Mafia recently. Loving these shoes, great build and design quality and fit perfectly. PM were there to help me with sizing and advice throughout the sales journey. I’ve purchased some other kit from PM and I am really impressed wth their high quality products that look and feel great, as well as offering great partner products like Fizik. It is so good to come across a company like PM. Their service is spot on. True customer focused business! Thanks to the PM team. Vote#1 for PM
Bought about a month ago, find these very comfortable on long and short rides.I've previously used size 49e Shimano RC-7 previous to the current models on sale with Sigma, which were wide and very stiff. I purchased these shoes in size 48 and they come up slightly wider which gives more comfort for longer rides. They aren't as stiff but then they aren't flexy either. A good all round shoe which seems pretty true to size when you use Fizik's sizing chart. Can't really comment on longevity of quality as only owned for a month. Only thing that would be better would be two dials rather than the one and the price is high.
really roomy shoe, the wide fit certainly is a noticeable toe box increase.great quality shoe, with a very stiff sole. One thing I seem to be noticing is that it a very "flat" shoe. noticing a bit of discomfort/pressure on the outside of my foot which indicates may need some arch support inner soles.
