Fizik Tempo R5 Powerstrap Road Shoes Black/Black Size 43
The Fizik Tempo R5 Powerstrap is a versatile road bike shoe that is excellent on paved roads. It distinguishes itself from other road bike shoes due to the innovative Powerstrap velcro strap. Most velcro straps pull two sides of the shoe towards each other. The innovative Powerstrap of the Tempo R5 winds itself around the instep and side of the shoe. Due to the elastic ribbon, the shoe adjusts itself to the shape of your foot and pressure is divided equally over the foot. This ensures an optimal fit and very high wearing comfort. The R5 nylon composite outsole provides a wonderful balance between comfort and stiffness. This outsole is reinforced with carbon, which improves power transmission to the pedals. Meanwhile the comfort of the shoe remains excellent, making the Fizik Tempo R5 Powerstrap suited for long distance use as well.

I’m extremely happy with these shoes so far (six rides, 500km).I bought these to replace a pair of shoes from a different brand which had originally cost three times as much. These are much better. They’re both comfortable and stiff in the sole, as well as being sturdy round the edges. The velcro straps are obviously easy to adjust while on the move. The lower strap does most of the work but I find overall the tightness is almost ideal. They clean very easily, dirt just wipes off. They’re not completely waterproof (not advertised as such I don’t think) but reasonably resistant. Easy and comfortable to wear with overshoes.I take a 44 (European) in everyday shoes and I got these in a 44.5 which fit just fine with a pair of cycling socks of normal ... MoreI’m extremely happy with these shoes so far (six rides, 500km).I bought these to replace a pair of shoes from a different brand which had originally cost three times as much. I've used a pair of infinito r1 in the past but the carbon sole always added a level of discomfort, so after some searching i found these. From the start they were much more forgiving on my soles of my feet, ive done roughly 300 miles in them so far and they are fantastic. Even recommended them to a friend who also got a pair and he too says they are fantastic.I would happily buy these again.

First pair of road shoes so unsure what to expect. Really surprised how comfortable they are.Fit is true to size unlike other brands which is a complete lottery. Buy your normal shoe size as a start.Always had shoes with BOA type fastening but these are so much better. Quick and convenient to adjust. Ok, if your an out an out racer then a different fastening may be better when preparing for a sprint, but for mere mortals these are perfect.Quality wise, they are very well made and worth every penny. Altho I could spend more on shoes, I wouldn't botherGoing to get myself another pair in a different colour now.

Good fit. I was previously using a 42 Shimano, that hurts my big toe, even though it is wide enough. I tried this Fizik Powerstrap R5 and it fits perfectly. Also everybody is asking where I got this. The matte black looks really nice, it really stands out. I can wear any color socks with it.
Bought a pair in black/black on top of a pair of Black/white. After much research went 1/2 size upand glad I did as they fit perfectly with room in the toe box without any heel slip. I like the Velcro straps and prefer them over BOAs and they give a secure fit. I didn’t have any difficulty adjusting the clear position on the sole. So far they are wearing well and the white ones clean well with a magic eraser. I usually wear a size 9 or 10 in some shoes and my foot measures exactly 283mm so went for the 44.5. I take a standard F fitting shoe so don’t know how they would be for someone who needs a wide fit
For me the classic Velcro fastening and minimalist look of these shoes really works, style wise. I was unsure how they would hold up against the more “technical” closure systems but I need not have worried, the Velcro just works and the cross pattern of the straps holds my foot as well, and with more comfort (possibly placebo) than my old shoes. There is also the added benefit that my overshoes are easier to pull on. I’ve only had these shoes a short time but so far I can’t recommend them enough. Now to put some proper miles into them!
Bought to replace my worn out carbon soled shoes. These are not carbon soled, but I've not found them to be any less efficient. Was looking for Boa fastening as found the velcro on my old shoes began to fail. The velcro on these feels stronger and of better quality. They fasten fine, and can be easily adjusted when in the saddle.Toe warmers required on those colder mornings (but I do suffer with cold toes). They look great and fit great. I went down a size for a snug fit (personal choice) and haven't found them to be uncomfortable.
Bought these last winter for use in the spring. Unfortunately I haven't been able to get on with them. I'm UK size 8 and bought the 42. Length wise, perfect, but too tight in the toe box. I wanted to use different footbeds for arch support, but there was no chance, and even with the supplied footbed I lose feeling in my toes even on short rides with the strap pretty much undone. For info, my feet are are approx 10.5 cm wide. I also find the holes for cleat position further forward than I would like. It's a shame, as they feel well made and were good value; I can't comment on power transfer as my toes have been numb....They'll be on eBay soon if interested....
After a months use I feel I can write a balanced review of the shoes. My first point is that the size guide is accurate and I took my usual shoe size. These shoes have an smart “premium” look at what I consider to be the top price I would pay for my needs. In terms of comfort, I found trial and patience eventually gets rid of earlier tightness and slight strap adjustments to a long way.
Out the box very smart and very high quality build. Impressive. Comfy. Some scarcely noticeable niggles in the knee after first few rides, sorted for most part now with cleat re-adjustment. Important to note its likely you'll need to pull the cleats back as far as they go as the shoes are quite long. The shape gives support to the foot arch which is an unusual sensation (compared to old shoes) but does give sense of increased support - not unwelcome. The sizing was right (same size as previous cycling shoes). Would recommend these but allow several rides and some tweaking to get used to them. They do scuff easily mind, so don't expect them to look new for too long! Fab looking and generally pretty comfortable shoe. Recommended.
