I've wanted a pair of Fjallraven pants for a long time but can't get them here in Perth. I finally came across Tom's Outdoors who provide 60 day free returns if clothes don't fit so I felt confident about buying online. Well I didn't need to send them back. The pants fit perfectly, straight out of the express post bag (they got here super fast)! They look great, seem very well made and are super comfy. I love them. I mean, what's not to love about pants with an axe pocket! I can't wait to try them out in the Stirling Ranges. I'm almost hoping for cold wet weather! Thanks Toms!

I initially envisioned waxing these pants to use for any work where I had to walk through wet brush or any other low vegetation. However, I soon discovered that the thickness of the material adds additional warmth for cool fall hikes in the mountains. I think these pants might be a bit too warm for hot summers, but I will find out next year. The material appears durable and a bit more shiny than I was expecting. My only disappointment is that it is not easy to find these pants with a short inseam straight from the factory, so I had to hem the length myself (lost a star). Otherwise, these pants are a pleasant surprise.

I bought the BP Jeans based on how much I like the shorts of the same name which are comfortable & tough. The jean is much the same and because I waited for the solid dark color to be back in stock, I don't expect the staining I experienced on the sand colored shorts to be an issue. I do find the pockets for knee pads to be unusual not that I can't see a real need for the pads (I don't), but because the bottom of the pad pocket is left open. I didn't notice this until after the leg length was shortened & hems sewn. I anticipate a real possibility of branches & snags pushing up into the openings and causing a trip or a tear in the pants. I haven't worn them on the trail yet but the design is puzzling. I may have to take them back to the tailor & have them sewn ... I had heard of this brand mentioned by several reviewers that I respect. I was watching a YouTube video by Survival Lily (check her vids out) when she mentioned they were available in the US from Moosejaw. Win-win for me. I wanted to try them out and Moosejaw is my favorite online outdoor store!First, the pants come full length, something like 37" long. So most people will need to get them hemmed. No problem. The fit is really nice for me. They are very easy to move in without being baggie. They fit pretty trim throughout the seat and thighs. They have an anti-abrasion material over the seat, crotch and front of the legs. The G-1000 material feels great but I haven't had them long enough to comment on how durable and water resistance they are. The pocket layout ... These do not have a traditional rear wallet pocket. So far I've been carrying my wallet in a thigh pocket and find it very convenient. The cargo pocket on the right thigh has an internal mesh cell phone pocket. They are really comfortable and easy to move in. I like them well enough that I'm going to try another pair in a different style.
I saw these pants on clearance, and jumped at them. They were shipped very quickly and arrived exactly as promised. This material is phenomenal — nothing like I’ve ever seen. Thin enough to not overheat but seem very tough and durable while also being soft. Love it.Unfortunately, I ordered what was shown as US size 30 (I think it’s Euro size 46). I tried them on and they were way too big, especially in the waist. I measured with a tailor’s tape and the waist was just about 32”. My waist measures almost exactly 30, and I typically wear 30X32. I had to return these for size issues, and they were out of stock on the next size down (which is Euro 44.). I tried on some other Fjallraven pants in size 44, and they fit my waist just about perfectly. So heads up skinny ... MoreI saw these pants on clearance, and jumped at them. So heads up skinny guys, if you were a 30 waist, go for the size 44 in Fjallraven pants.Campsaver couldn’t have been more understanding and great about the return. They really won me over with their customer service and I can’t recommend them as a company enough. They let me ship back to them for free.
I heard all the rave about the Fjallraven trousers and didn't believe it. Then I bought a pair. I wish all my pants fit this well and were this durable. The double lined knees with option to add padding inside are and added bonus. Being a contractor and repairing/installing many different materials in homes and often on my knees, all of my pants have holes in the knees. The materials used for these pants are the right balance for durability, comfort, as well as flexibility. I can wear them for work, for hiking, or even for lounging around. The are also esthetically easing to the eye.I was lucky enough to get the pants on sale from Moosejaw. As stated earlier, I wish all my pants wer Fjallraven.
They fit more like a pair of straight leg chinos and less snug like a pair of 501's. Not baggy or tight and really comfortable. If you're not familiar with the material, think of a tight weave cotton that almost feel nylon like. Even without wax, water tend to roll off of it. Great when that bathroom sink splashes a little and you don't want to go back to the meeting and explain it's not leakage. This are burly with double fabric on knees but the cut/design is refined so I'll be wearing them to the office.....heck maybe a wedding. I dyed the arctic fox patch and G-1000 stitching so it's real subdued; pure vanity oh well. Also stitch closed the knee opening since I don't plan to added pads. 5'10"/155 wearing 31 waist jeans and 46 is perfect.Arcteryx and Patagonia ... These are every bit the fit and finish but more bombproof.
Wanted to like these pants, but didn't like the fit. The 46 fit tight on my hips but loose on my waist (31" waist). The pant legs are very loose which is OK. Mobility is a bit restricted due to the tight hip (yet loose waist???), and makes getting in and out of the pockets difficult (and I'm already quite slim so there can't be many people these fit). The other odd thing about the fit is that the waist goes incredibly high, against bare skin. Without tucking in a shirt the fabric is uncomfortable so high on the waist. Maybe the fabric would get softer and more comfortable with washes.Otherwise quality seems good. It just has a bazaar fit. Returned.
I am tall and skinny. I have an actual measured 31 inch waist and size 46 fits really well. They are a little higher in the waist than your typical jeans, which is awesome for hiking/climbing. The fit in the thighs is way tighter than Americans are used to-if you have big thighs or love handles these will not fit, period. The length is perfect for me (38" inseam), which is almost impossible to find in pants like these. The fabric is durable and breaks the wind well. They dry reasonably quickly for a cotton blend fabric.
Had to return 2x... typically I like a tight fit and I was between sizes on their chart and lower was way too tight...then went up and that fit but was too tight for the fit I wanted (muscular thighs). Wanted to like these but couldn't because the fit didn't work for me personally. I'd say the fit in thighs and hips is closer to a tight fit than tailored. Surprised at how thin these pants were esp for reviews saying how strong they are...reminded me more of a pair of hiking pants than work pants in terms of thickness. I wanted something a little beefier in retrospect too so will go another route. Love their coats and winter hats, will keep buying those.
