Fleetwood Mac - Rumours (Vinyl)
Rumours is the kind of album that transcends its origins and reputation, entering the realm of legend - it's an album that simply exists outside of criticism and outside of its time, even if it thoroughly captures its era. Prior to this LP, Fleetwood Mac were moderately successful, but here they turned into a full-fledged phenomenon, with Rumours becoming the biggest-selling pop album to date. While its chart success was historic, much of the legend surrounding the record is born from the group's internal turmoil. Unlike most bands, Fleetwood Mac in the mid-'70s were professionally and romantically intertwined, with no less than two couples in the band, but as their professional career took off, the personal side unravelled. What makes Rumours such an enduring achievement is that it turns private pain into something universal. Some of these songs may be too familiar, whether through their repeated exposure on FM radio or their use in presidential campaigns, but in the context of the album, each tune, each phrase regains its raw, immediate emotional power - which is why Rumours touched a nerve upon its 1977 release, and has since transcended its era to be one of the greatest, most compelling pop albums of all time.

Just getting back into vinyl music again and building my collection up. This album was, of course, at the top of my list to purchase.Item arrived as promised, extremely prompt, very well packaged. Perfect condition and I'm a very happy customer!Highly recommended.

One of their best albums with all the classic hits. Features Dreams, Go Your Own Way, and my personal favorite, Gold Dust Woman. The Gold Record makes this one a little extra special and good album art of Fleetwood and the entire gang on this album. Recomend 100% two thumbs way up and 5++ Stars!

Do not buy this version here. This is the European mix pulled from digital recording. You want the pressed by Pallas on the hype sticker; mixed from the original analog recordings. This version sounds muddy compared to the Pallas pressing. Or for even better version, look for the 45 rpm version, probably the best version available for this album.

Many experts have considered "Rumours" the best Fleetwood Mac album, and i agree completely. The newly formed Fleetwood Mac with Stevie Nicks and Lindsey are the main ingredients for the success and now part of human historyEvery song of this album wont disappoint you, they are all very well constructed, harmonic, melodic and instantly catchy."Rumours" should be in the collection of everyone who consider itself a serious good music listener.
No issues with the Vinyl issue purchased at Best Buy. No warping, eveyrhing cut even, sound comes through cleaner than ever. Highly recommended purchase of a classic Fleetwood Mac classic.
What a surprise to see this rock classic album at Nordstrom! Every song is great. Stevie Nicks is an amazing vocalist and performer who has achieved her own musical success over the years. I read that Stevie uses La Mer face cream, another reason La Mer is one of my favorite Nordstrom skincare brands. For those who still have their stereos, add this to your collection. Otherwise get the CD and put this album, along with Fleetwood Mac and Stevie on your Pandora play list. Gold Dust Woman is my favorite song on the album.
Granted, it isn't the best pressing one can buy, but it is good enough album that has no pops or clicks. It is quite and no worping and spindle hole is dead center. The soundstage has good sound throughtout the whole range. It could use a little more deeper base.
The album itself is fine but the cover was really banged up pretty bad despite it was shipped in a sturdy cardboard protector. I have vinyl albums from the 70s and none of the covers are in as bad condition as this new one is. Ive bought albums from other sites and they all have arrived in the mail in pristine condition. I guess when they just chuck it into a trailer truck they're not thinking about what's in the package. Rumors is an iconic cover and I was going to gift it to a friend in a frame but not the way this looks. Just going to keep it.
I don't play vinyl nowadays but I had heard that it was getting close to cd quality but it isn't. However, if you don't have cd and have a pretty good turntable then Albums like this will give you lots of enjoyment. I honestly only bought the album to compare with my CD system and though it isn't as good sound quality wise it is very enjoyable. I have honestly bought this album three times over the years because I liked is so much but since I changed everything to a CD system I have not owned any vinyl but I will keep this just because it is a fabulous album.
I bought a copy of this LP based on Music Direct's response to another customer:SShaneVerified Reviewer09/01/20Q: Is this the Pressed at Pallas version?Answers (1)Music DirectMusic Direct09/01/20A: Yes this is the Pallas versionNo, it isn't. At least what I received wasn't. I got one that states: "Made in Canada"And it isn't dead quiet. Not an inordinate amount of clicks and pops but too many.I also have a copy of Fleetwood Mac's first album with Stevie Nicks on LP and it's fabulous. It has a sticker that shows it was mastered at Bernie Grundman studios.Shame on MD for misrepresenting this product.
