This is a tough little guy! Others I've bought that claim "heavy duty" aren't. The last one kept twisting up to where it wouldn't retract, wouldn't pull out, just a pain. I had to take it apart and put it back together so many times. This one is all it claims to be. My dog is about 22 pounds. It's well made, durable, and best of all, it will not twist up! 10/10

I've been using this Flexi Fun Retractable Leash for my small dog, and I absolutely love it! It's the perfect length for walks, allowing my pup to explore and sniff around while still being safely within reach. The leash is durable, comfortable to hold, and the brake and lock features work great. Plus, my dog seems to enjoy the added freedom it provides. I'd highly recommend this leash to anyone with a small dog!

Love the neon color and bright reflective leash. But thats where it ends as "good". First off, it's a smaller tape than the VL brand. Even being a smaller tape, it has failed to retract 4 times in 2 days of use. Mind you, I ALWAYS use a retractable leash when taking my pitty outside. This was the ONLY one WalMart had on the shelf so I decided to try it. Big mistake. I truly hope they will take this back because I can't even give it away if it fails to do what it's DESIGNED to do, right? Do not buy this piece of junk. Lighter than other brands, no rubberized handle for a better grip, slick plastic means it may come out of your hand easier and it feels like a cheap toy. Not a brand I will use again for anything.

I was somewhat disappointed with this leash. There’s nothing to explain how it works. There’s about 2ft at the beginning where it’s not cord…it’s flat fabric of some sort. That means that you can never have all of it wound up and neat. Instead, you get this silly “tail” hanging out. I wouldn’t but it again.
I guess all things that seem to make things more easier have many flaws to them. In this case, the retracting leash was sooo perfect. But ultimately (literally within a week) snapped. I'm just thankful that me and the pup were in my backyard when it occurred and not out in the neighborhood. Yeah, I wouldn't recommend this purchase. Sticking with the rope style.
Purchased in January'23, worked perfectly fine for a few months. In September, the locking mechanism would get stuck. Not really a big deal, just a little less convenient.Today, (December of same year), the string busted and our dog ran off.(Yes, we got him back, luckily his weakness is treats)
Due to the small string like size of the leash inside the reel, the leash cut into my teenage son’s arm when our dog ran and turned. This has never happened to us with normal sized leashes with a reel. I had no idea it would be this thin. It’s similar to a string. Be careful if you buy this!
I admit, my 20-ish-pound gremlin didn't probably need me to pick up the L-sized version of this product--but given how it drives me batty how many dog owners in my area (and especially at my local park) just let their dogs off their leash whenever they feel like it, I was determined to not be the That Guy of a dog owner--while also at least having the option of letting my dog roam a bit further afield than a conventional leash, where appropriate. The retraction mechanism in this leash works great, providing dependable and effective maintenance of steady retraction force--enough that the dog knows it's there and the leash is kept off of the ground, but not so much that the dog has to labor mightily to extend it (pint-sized monster or no). The button-slider locking mechanism is great for when you'd prefer that it behave like a conventional leash for a while, limiting your pet to a shorter radius for a time. For those who've never used a retractable leash before, though, be sure to heed the warnings on the package: they are not a fool-proof product (this goes for all items in the category--not just this one), and the possibility of injury if used inappropriately/carelessly is not remote--particularly in the realm of friction burns/edge cuts and tripping. (I haven't been harmed by mine, but there've been a few moments that could've gone sour if I'd not exercised intentional caution.) There are some dogs that also wend around their humans too much for something with tension like this to be a good idea, unless you enjoy taking your walks trussed up like a Christmas duck. All in all, I'm happy with mine. I didn't see the little branded clip-on add-on doodad (for poop bags and the like) available at my store, but that's fine--I am an inveterate wearer of Things With Pockets, so I can manage without. It probably would've been an overpriced little piece of plastic anyway.
i had Ă mini Flexi for my 4.5lb Teacup Yorkie. But now i have a 12lb Toy Poodle. So i had to upgrade. This one has a thicker "CORD". I dont like the ribbon kind. So this size is perfect for a stronger dog that pulls hard.
I bought the size large for 110 lb dog. My dog is 30 lbs. It broke on day two, just using to take her outside to do her business! Bought another thinking it had to have been a faulty leash. The second one did the exact same thing! The tape breaks completely off the clip and retracks inside, unable to use at all! Complete junk! I always thought the flexi brand was suppose to be great, but not by this leash!
