I needed something to replace a giant old recording console desk that took up a huge amount of space in my home office/recording studio. I also needed to not be sitting in one place for 8 hours or more a day. The E5 Pro Standing Desk fits the bill exactly. From opening the box, I was struck by the quality of the packaging alone — I’ve never seen a more well-protected packing job. Then the quality and weight of the steel used for the frame made a good impression. Assembly instruction were clear and easy to follow. Frankly, the hardest part was figuring out cable routing (lots of cables in a recording studio), and I ended up using heavy-duty magnetic tape to stick things like a powered USB hub, my multi-port PoE injector and the Ethernet switches it powers to the legs ... The desk is super-solid, easy to adjust and use, and saves me a ton of space. Got it with the 48x24” bamboo top with the belly cut and a keyboard drawer so I can have it in office mode or pure recording mode. It’s very versatile and I’d definitely buy it again. In fact, my wife is eyeing it with a certain amount of envy, so there may be another Flexispot in our future.

All the parts came intact and in good condition. Packing and shipping was excellent and fast. When I opened everything up I realized that it was really a build-a-desk kit with none of the holes pre-drilled or marked on the bottom of the desk. Directions were decent, but I had to go out and purchase a cordless drill/driver. The finished desk looks good and functions fairly well. I paid extra for a cord organizer, and installation was fairly straight forward, but it isn’t tall enough to house my MacBook power supply plugs, so I had to purchase short extensions online. It’s a cramped storage space and hard to work with. The controls are overly large and kind of ugly so I installed them a few inches in from the edge of the desk so they’re not visible. The controls work well - especially the memory functions, but the dual motors sound like they’re struggling to lift the desk, and I only have a couple of laptops and a single 27-inch monitor on top. I don’t know if it’s just how they sound, or if they’re actually straining. I chose one of the largest desktop sizes, so that might be an issue. Transition is speed is slower than expected when lifting too, though plenty fast when lowering, which also leads me to believe the motors are straining. And though my previous white desk did not have this issue, this desk surface causes issues with my optical mouse’s ability to read and track the surface, requiring me to purchase a mouse pad.Pros:* fast shipping & good packing* good appearance* sturdy desk* controls are easy and work wellCons:* assembly is slow and requires power tools and hours* cord caddy is far too shallow and requires power cord extensions* controls are ugly* dual motors slow and sound like they’re straining when lifting* white desk surface causes problems with optical mouse and requires a mouse padI would not recommend this desk to most people due to the assembly burden, surface issues, cramped caddy, and seemingly straining motors. If I could do it over again, I would purchase from a more reputable company such as Steelcase.

After having spent several days researching which top to buy, I figured the Dark Bamboo would be a good option. Save your money, just get the particle board, basically the same the thing. Two, upon flipping my completed table over I found out it does in fact have preset holes for assembly. I now know this since the top of my table, where I plan to work, has holes in it. Now this is partially on me for not triple checking, but when the instruction tell you to prepare a drill, and that you will need to drill your desk to install it, than its also on FlexiSpot. I will gladly admit, I should have checked. But your instructions are what I followed to the letter. This is not acceptable. If your thinking of getting the Dark Bamboo, save your money and get the fiber or chipboard. If you want a Solid top that doesn't feel cheap, spend a little more and get the Solid Wood Top.I am hoping FlexiSpot will let me exchange this top for a Solid Wood, at this point I am extremely disappointed. As for the Frame, its perfect. No issues, solid and stable.

I got the E5 desk with the 48x24 bamboo top and the metal drawer for the desk.Pros: nice desk, quiet and smooth motor, looks goodCons:- The install was annoying with having only about half the holes pre-drilled.- The metal drawer isn’t designed for ergonomic or 48x24” desk tops. When adding the drawer to the cart there is an alert that mentions it doesn’t fit the ergonomic desktops but didn’t make me aware of the sizing issue. I resolved by repositioning my desktop but was too much extra work.- The desktop is advertised as 48x24 but is more like 47.25x 23.25. Just advertise it for what it is
Overall, I am very pleased with this desk. Both the frame and the desktop arrived in incredibly well-protected packages. They were honestly two of the best packages I've ever received. One had a 1.5-inch hole in it from the shipping company, but the product was absolutely untouched.Putting the desk together was easy, and it has been working well so far. There is a little bit of wobble when the desk is in a standing position, but it's not bad and is well within the bounds of what I would consider acceptable for a desk of this price range. The main negative has been the black composite desktop. It seems to be marked easily by oils, even those of a resting hand. It also came with a large rectangular sticker on it that left glue residue I have been unable to fully ... It seems to be marked easily by oils, even those of a resting hand. It also came with a large rectangular sticker on it that left glue residue I have been unable to fully remove. The sticker was unnecessary because it was instructions for the keypad that arrived in a separate box with its own set of instructions. I wish this large sticker had not been on the desktop. I've included a picture of the still-visible rectangle and glue residue it left behind.I would recommend this desk to anyone looking for a quality standing desk at a more budget-friendly price range than those you would find in a corporate office. I am very happy with it, overall, and I would buy from FlexiSpot again.
- My first E5 solid wood (Rubberwood color) was cracked, and I didn't notice until after assembly- CS (customer service) sent the first replacement desktop. Again, I didn't notice that this desktop was also cracked until after assembly.- CS sent a second replacement desktop. This desktop was cracked IN HALF upon arrival.- Exasperated, I asked CS to send yet another desktop, and they suggested bamboo, as the previous three solid wood desktops had cracked.- I opened the bamboo desktop and it seems fine, so I'll do my third assembly.Obviously, the quality of the solid wood (Rubberwood) desktops are poor. What's frustrating is that now I have to use bamboo, which isn't the color I wanted.Customer service never offered me a discount for my trouble, time, and ... This is our 3rd top and 2nd set of E5 legs we have purchased. These I guess are a new v2 which I didn't realize. While yes the legs are 'thinner' in one direction we have it installed next to our other daughters E5, which I guess is now a v1, and the v2 is less then half the speed of the v2 and is much more wobbly and doesn't go as high as the v1. In the end thats fine I guess but I think I would have preferred they kept the great speed of the v1 in the new v2. The other changes are great the new unified power brick makes wire management simple and clean which is amazing. So it's "okay" some new parts of the V2 are blah and some are great. its still a great desk to buy and we'd buy a third when we need it although for myself I will likely splurge on the E7 :)
I hemmed and hawed over getting this desk after reading a lot of different reviews. I wanted something made of decent-quality materials, but under $350. This desk seemed to fit the requirements!I haven’t done any hardcore-usage or put it through its paces yet, but it seems like a sturdy desk, and it is surprisingly quiet when it lifts/lowers.I did notice a flaw on my bamboo desktop where there’s a very small divot. I didn’t find it until I had already put the whole thing together, drilled holes and all, and the 30-day return process seemed too complicated/inconvenient for me to bother with. In the end, I decided I don’t care *that* much as it won’t affect the use, and I plan on putting a large desk mat over it anyway.Putting it together wasn’t too complicated. I ... I did manage it on my own, though I made a handful of mistakes along the way. I ended up searching a video showing the process versus only relying on the written instructions. I will say there were several screws left over that I could not find any purpose for. They weren’t listed in the instructions at all from what I saw. I’m assuming they have one set of installation packaging parts that goes out with every desk, so maybe those screws would have been used on a different model.Shipping was fast; I ordered late night on the 12th and it arrived the 17th, which included a weather delay. The base and desktop shipped separately, and I received a tracking code for both packages, which was convenient.Overall I’m pleased!
I got the the white legs of the E5 standing desk, this was a replacement leg setup for my ikea kitchen counter top desk, which previously had the ikea standing metal legs, the legs had done well but standing desk is just so much better. The E5 standing desk setup went really quickly. I purchased the legs/frame only. While they do need assembly, it was far less of a chore the what I expected. All tools required to complete assembly are included and I had both assembled in less the 30 minutes. I will be using these for sewing and have put the IKEA table tops on to the frames. This final assembly was also very quick and straightforward. After attaching the frames the wiring is very easy. The wires run from each leg and plugs in to either port on the back of the controller and then plug in the power cord in to the only plug it will snap in to and your off to the races. My tables previously had 4 separate legs and sat on carpet, but with the new frame the stability has increased 100%.The only thing that would make this kit better is a power cord ... The wires from the legs are very long to accommodate any width one may set, plus there is an additional wire to extend one of the leg wires to reach the control box. I wanted to control both of my frames from where I sit but the provided wire isn’t long enough. I looked on the web site and couldn’t find this extension, but did find some on Amazon (Molex 4 wire plug male to female).
