This is due to the Eufy encryption. The recording functionality works, but saved videos are definitely not in 3k resolution, neither does Eufy make it easy to download video from an entire day. If this is a non-essential for you, ignore.- The floodlight had issues with detecting my SD card a week after use. This SD card is a Samsung endurance, so it's rated for constant recording and is only a couple of months old. After formatting the SD card on my PC and reinserting it into the camera, the issue was resolved.- Unlike the Eufy S330, you cannot change the ambient lighting color on this cameraOverall, I'd recommend the floodlight Camera, but for $220, that can be a lot. I'd say the device is worth $220 should Eufy address the accessibility issue of downloading your files and had it came with lighting customization. It's more so worth $180 at most.

I'll be phasing out the Arlo and Blink systems because just one of these can easily replace multiple Arlo and Blink due to having 360° viewing and pan and tilt. I also bought the Homebase3 to use as my local storage with a 1TB Samsung SSD. The only issue I had was connecting the camera to the Homebase3. I think I kept trying to go from the Homebase3 to the camera and finally succeeded when I went from the camera to the Homebase3. The additional AI features that the Homebase3 offer are really amazing and worth the additional cost of the Homebase3. A week after this purchase I also purchased 2 S340's and installed them. I'm a tech guy and have been very impressed with this eufy system and all the things they can do. It's kind of freaky when I'm outside, look up, and these things are following me and recording all my movements. If I were a bad guy up to no good I'd be looking for a different property to do bad things to.If you're considering a security camera system, look no further and get this system. You will not be disappointed.

Destroys your SD Cards...and here's why
12 February 2024

This camera is really good, the alerts, the detections,The fact the lights are really bright, the app is decent, and the fact it can record 24\7 is good! The issue is, if you're like me you looked up on Eufy website on what SD card to get, and you go buy it install it, and it works good! For 5 months then right when the card is about to get full and you get that notice, it lets you know the card needs to be reformatted then it fails to format , then the camera can't notice it any more, so now you think ok"! that card was faulty, you buy another , you make sure it's from a reputable seller, and 3 months later the same thing happens again!! And the card is corruptedThis is the issue....the cards Eufy recommend are not for HIGH ENDURANCE recording, the camera is writing 24|7 gets a tad hot thus corrupting the card! It's maxing and wearing out the write cycles, it's almost like this was supposed to be designed to work with their homebase3Best way I can describe sd wear death is like this. Think of your SD card like a posted note. Now use a pencil to write on that posted note and you jot down the things you need to do or want to remember. And it's time goes on some of those notes become less important or irrelevant so you erase them and you write a new note. But every time you erase it you never quite fully erase it. And even where you can fully erase it you've now removed pieces, parts and particles from the top layer of that piece of paper (posted note). Now as you continue to write and erase repeatedly, sooner or later that posted note will be come illegible. At which point that posted note like your SD card is just warn out.I would recommend Samsung PRO Endurance microSD Memory CardOr spend the extra money for the home base 3 and a 1 terabyte SSD drive

I love this camera. It has provided such a piece of mind.It did take me a while to get it installed, because I didn't have power where I wanted it. The average Joe will want to pay an electrician to install this, which adds significant cost. You could always go fore their wireless/solar version though- but it doesn't have the spotlights. This camera has a lot of great features. You can set 4 camera positions for it to cycle through which is cool. It's really awesome to walk around outside and watch it racking you. Great customer service and the are constantly developing new products and inviting users to give input and beta test.I couldn't recommend this camera enough.

I haven't had the E340 floodlights long. Maybe 2 weeks. But so far they are quite impressive. The video quality is good and the floodlight itself is nicely sensitive (you can set what level of sensitivity you want). The AI auto tracking feature is not perfect but very impressive and.... well creepy, If you choose to use the AI (another feature you can turn on or off), when the camera detects movement it will aim the articulating head at the movement and follow it. Time will tell. This camera is expensive, Hopefully, it will last several years and there will be replacement parts or reasonable repair service at that time if needed. It was easy to install and the app is easy to navigate. The web site for your camera is limited to only accessing live view if you are using in house storage. Which is disappointing. As of yet I don't know if I can read a license plate from a car at the end of the driveway. I would think so at 3K but I'm still learning how to use and the capabilities of the app,

Powerful addition to our existing Eufy system

We already have the Eufy system with two cameras and the network base. So adding this floodlight camera gave us a whole other realm of power to this camera eco-system. The Eufy software instantly recognized the camera when we added it using the app. After adding this camera, it gave us such a different and unique view that we couldn't get from the other cameras because of the wide angle lens and the turret rotating capability this camera has. Also what separated this camera was the powerful flood lights. But if somebody walks up in our yard it will definitely pick them up and start recording with flood lights on.Of course the biggest feature here is the ability for this camera to rotate to whatever angle you point the camera, using the phone app. Our other still cameras can only capture one angle, but with this camera it's like you have multiple cameras in one place because you can rotate the angle. The only thing that was a bummer was having to hardwire this camera, but in the long run it's worth it.If you're not familiar with the Eufy system, what makes it so great is the ability to monitor and record locally and not have to pay a monthly cloud subscription. We definitely love our Eufy system even more now.

Wifi is good, ethernet would be better, REQUIRES DIRECT WIRING, NO TRANSFORMER...
6 January 2024

Okay Eufy, hear me out here...I have mixed feelings about the design of this product. When I read 'hardwired,' I did not expect to need an electrician to come and run a new circuit so I could set this camera up where I wanted. That took quite a bit of time and isn't at all obvious from the product listing. I was expecting to be able to hook it in to an outside outlet and simply secure a power cable to the outside of the wall. This isn't that. The camera design with this product is much more permanent, but takes a couple of strange turns. I get that WiFi is generally stable, but enough of these cameras on the network and you start to have a very 'noisy' WiFi space. The option to connect this to an Ethernet cable would have been much preferred.Gripes aside, this is a quality product. The image quality is fantastic, and the camera tracks extremely well (if it's a touch jerky). The onboard AI can tell exactly where something unexpected is and follow. If you're replacing a hardwired floodlight, this is probably the product for you. Make sure your signal can reach the location you want to install the camera before purchase. I would have preferred to see a better feature set in terms of connectivity, but that's mitigated by strong features in AI tracking and image quality.

The main appeal of this product is the value for money in comparison to Google’s equivalent version. The AI-powered subject detection and tracking works excellently. The app’s response to the camera controls is acceptable, however, accessing the camera when I’m away from home fails in 80% of the cases and I find myself limited to waiting to get home to see any event. Despite how happy I am with the camera’s performance, this inability to access remotely is a deal-breaker. I hope the technical support people can help.

I feel eufy makes fantastic products; however, my personal opinions in no way influenced my testing this E340 Floodlight Camera to provide a review for it. I approached it as if I had never heard of eufy or had any experience with their products, just as I do for all of my reviews.Starting with first impressions. The camera comes nicely boxed and upon opening it you're greeted with the camera protected by a molded plastic shell. The LED lights are covered with labels to protect your eyes during setup and installation. Do not remove these labels until you have the camera installed! These LED are very bright. So, you're ready to setup your new camera. First, you need to download the eufy App. Once you begin the setup procedure, you're guided through the entire process within the app and there is no guess work or confusing settings that have to be configured. It is very quick, easy, and just as every eufy camera I own, this camera's setup completed successfully without any issues. The instructions are also very helpful as well.Installation is very simple as well. As a note, though, this E340 Floodlight Camera must be hardwired, so if you are not qualified or knowledgeable working with electrical wiring, please hire a licensed electrician to install this camera. The camera can be mounted in two ways: on a wall, or ceiling by unscrewing 3 screws and moving the camera's mount from the back to the top and reinstalling the screws the same way you removed them! Very simple.Wiring the camera is a piece of cake. As an electrician myself, there is one thing I was not particularly a fan of, but I'll get to that in a moment. There are 3 wires: the hot, neutral and grounding wire. These wires of course get connected to the same hot, neutral and grounding conductors from the source of power where you are installing this camera. The one thing I did not like, is eufy include a small plastic connector that has 6 small screws and you are provided this to facilitate the connection between the camera's wiring and the power source. I found this connector, in my personal opinion, to be inadequate from a professional standpoint as an electrician. The connector has no markings that I could find that would designate it is approved for use. I opted to not use this connector and go with connectors that I know from my professional experience to be high quality, reliable and approved for use. Other than the the connector provided, I found everything else about the camera's wiring to be good and safe.Once installed, the camera is very easy to use. eufy has a very nice app in which everything is easy to find and for the most part, self explanatory. There are help options which are easy to find to also provide good explanations for the various functions and features of this E340 Floodlight Camera. Some of the features of this camera include, pan and tilt to be able to freely move the camera within the app, the ability to choose 4 preset positions that you can set to have to camera constantly move to each position and stay at each one for a minimum of 10 seconds before moving to the next before starting again. In addition, you can also customize a detection zone within each of those preset positions by selecting an area on the screen. Anything outside of those detection zones the camera will not record or send notification of.How does it perform? For the most part, I found it be very good. Initially, I was getting a lot of false human detections; however, after making a small adjustment to the preset position where the object was being detected falsely, that seemed to completely resolve the issue other than a few false detections here.I found myself being very surprised by how good the AI Detection for human and vehicles is, but not only that, the speed at which the detections happen. The camera is very responsive; seemingly only taking a second to make the detection and the camera immediately pan to and track person or vehicle. There are two lenses on this camera, one being a telephoto. Within the app you have two options for viewing the camera and recordings: dual view, or single. In dual view you have shown both a normal and zoomed in video from the camera and recordings. In single mode, I believe eufy states within the app that the view is dependent on the zoom level of the camera what is shown. I'm a bit confused by that since single view has only shown for me a zoomed out view for me.The resolution and clarity of the camera is fantastic! I found myself very surprised by how clear and sharp it is. I am able to see license plates from a very good distance away fairly clearly. The camera is 3k resolution. It would have been nice if eufy chose to make it 4k, but nevertheless, the camera's resolution is great. The night vision capabilities are some of the best I have ever seen from any camera I have tried, not just eufy. I have absolutely no trouble at all seeing 75-100 feet to the very back of my yard with very good clarity and detail. One area I found the camera lacking is facial recognition. I have eufy's Homebase so I'm able to utilize it's facial recognition features, and I stood directly in front of this camera for a while with it looking directly at me, and it would not recognize my face to add to the database to be recognized as a regular visitor, family member, etc. Ironically, it only later finally recognized my face when I briefly glanced at it in passing. This is definitely an area that needs work.Overall, I feel eufy nailed it with this E340 Wired Floodlight Camera. It is an all around great performing, well designed and constructed camera with awesome features. The night vision, clarity, resolution, pan and tilt as well as AI capabilities make this E340 Floodlight Camera a very solid purchase in my personal opinion, and I would very highly recommend it. I know eufy is working hard to improve AI detections, so I'm not going to fault this camera for that as I'm sure that will be ironed out in the future. I do wish eufy had opted to offer this camera with 4k resolution rather than the chosen 3k, so that's the main reason for knocking one star off my review, but the 3k resolution of this camera is fantastic, so it's not a major issue.
