Good product & one of our regular buys.

This is a good product from a reputed company and is among the regular buys in our household.. I always get the larger 450g tub as it lasts until the next big shop. Although ProActiv's texture is definitely buttery and easy to spread, the taste I would say could be butter. Overall, I feel good about the cholesterol reducing element in the product and although it does not come cheap, I'm happy to buy it as part of a healthy diet.

Not an ordinary food item!

I love food but will always start any culinary experience by how it looks. If it doesn’t look good my taste buds are already expecting the worst. It takes a lot to be won over after this first reaction I can tell you!Thankfully, when I pulled back the foil covering and discovered the lovely little churn finish I was delighted. It looked as if it had just been delivered fresh from a farmhouse and it certainly did not look like the spread I had previously had with its regimented flat brick appearance. I loved this little quirk!First signs continued to be good. Although the tub had been in my fridge for a couple of days it remained soft, had a lovely sheen and joy of joy it spread beautifully! For those of you on a health kick or dieting this is brilliant it means you can use a small amount, achieve a lovely light coating and save yourself a few calories as well!Whilst everything looked appealing the proof is always going to be in the tasting. My eyes were pleased by what they had initially seen my taste buds, however, remained decidedly ‘on the fence’.I decided to try out the taste on a plain piece of fresh bread nothing else. My reason for this was that the Flora ProActiv Buttery taste would have nowhere to hide, no jam, ham etc to disguise or enhance it. It was on its own! I have tried this before with other spreads and have found them to have a slight greasy taste or too much salt especially when melted on a piece of toast.Well I was not disappointed and my taste buds joined the party! ProActiv Buttery tasted just like butter with none of the guilt. It had no overpowering taste of salt even when I tried it on toast and it was certainly not greasy. My family and I have recently stopped using a spread on sandwiches that we take to work mainly because every spread we have tried has marred the taste of our sandwich fillings. Instead we had taken to using a sauce or nothing at all, which sometimes mean that we end up with a dry slightly curled up sandwich! The family consensus has been that Flora ProActiv Buttery is brilliant - we absolutely loved it!I have since used it on jacket potatoes the texture and taste is beautiful it melts slowly and just like butter leaves a lovely sheen. I have even cooked my scrambled eggs with it, I have not been disappointed thus far.All this combined with the fact that it lowers cholesterol has won me over and I have already been out and brought a tub for my elderly parents both of whom suffer from high cholesterol. The only criticism I have is of the packaging it really doesn’t stand out at all. When I went to get a tub for my parents it took me a few minutes trying to distinguish it from all other products on the shelf. I only persevered because I had tried it, liked it and I knew they would to. I know that a few minutes may sound like no time at all, but time is precious when you have had a busy week. All I want to do when I go for my weekly supermarket shop is get what I need and go. The branding really does need to be more distinctive. Finally, I know that Flora ProActiv Buttery may be more expensive than some of its other rivals but you do use less so it lasts longer and the taste is definitely better so well worth the few extra pennies.

[Rewarded Review] Flora ProActiv Buttery Spread

I really enjoyed trying this product, as did the rest of my family, we have always stuck to the same brand of butter for the past 10 years so I was apprehensive about trying this product, but I absolutely loved it. One of the main factors being no matter what bread you spread this on, it does not tear and rip the bread into pieces which previous butters I have tried have had an annoying habit of doing. The taste of the of the product is actually buttery, as well, something I thought was just a claim like other brands do, so was pleasantly surprised. My whole family enjoyed this product, and considering we have only had it a couple of days, the product is nearly three quarters gone! The fact that it lowers cholesterol is a huge plus as people in my family suffer from high cholesterol so anything that tastes good and helps lower cholesterol is a major bonus and a huge incentive to buy the product on a regular basis. The only negative I have to say about this product is the price, as in my local Sainsbury's it cost £3.80, this I think is far too expensive and something I would have passed over very quickly had I not had a coupon.

I think that the flora pro activ low cholesterol spread is fantastic! If I was a customer in the supermarket wondering wether to try out this spread I would want to know if it tasted any different to the usual butter spreads and also if it was going to be beneficial to my health. After trying out this product on numerous occasions now I can inform you that no it doesn't taste any different to the usual kinds of butter spreads it is still as yummy I have been using it in my boyfriend's sandwiches as a test and he hasn't noticed that I have changed it from our usual one which is good! [Rewarded Review] Not So buttery but healthy

Where to start, well the packaging is attractive - bright and eye catching and u formative on the benefits of buying this product so 10/10 on packaging.Price: costly at over £2 a carton but as normal healthy food costs more so I expected this, however unless I had a health condition that required lowering cholesterol I am not sure I'd pay £2:70 that Tesco were asking. Most importantly Trialling it -The butter was a rich yellow buttery colour - desirable. The spread - wow that was so nice the knife glided through the butter with altimuate ease. Spread well across bread, crackers and toast as I would like . The soft texture made batch sandwich making or breakfasting the family a quick and easy process which is always a plus. The taste I have to admit I was not ... MoreWhere to start, well the packaging is attractive - bright and eye catching and u formative on the benefits of buying this product so 10/10 on packaging.Price: costly at over £2 a carton but as normal healthy food costs more so I expected this, however unless I had a health condition that required lowering cholesterol I am not sure I'd pay £2:70 that Tesco were asking. Most importantly Trialling it -The butter was a rich yellow buttery colour - desirable. [Rewarded Review] Pleasant Taste
11 July 2017

I was really interested to try Flora ProActiv Buttery Spread as I haven't eaten any spread apart from butter for a long time. My first impression from the packaging was that the product looked slightly medicinal, which was understandable as it is supposed to reduce cholesterol, however I didn't personally find this appealing. I noticed that the product is suitable for vegetarians and contains sustainable palm oil - both positive points. However I did notice that the product seemed to have a lot of ingredients and was very processed in comparison to a product like butter. I was pleasantly surprised by the taste of the product, which although I didn't think tasted like butter or even 'buttery' as claimed on the packaging, did taste very pleasant. My overall conclusion about Flora Proactiv Buttery Spread is that its not for me for two reasons. Firstly, I'm not convinced that it could lower cholesterol despite the mention of this being evidenced in clinical trials on the packaging. Secondly, despite its pleasant taste I would far rather continue to use butter, a natural product with a far superior taste.

I've been using Flora ProActiv Buttery Spread for the last 2 weeks. I don't usually buy a spreadable type butter or a spread designed to keep cholesterol low. However, my parents were coming to visit and since they both have high cholesterol I thought I'd give it a try.Pleasantly surprised! Ok, it's not butter, it has a "buttery taste" and the taste is...pretty good! The taste is very similar to butter. It's easy to spread, doesnt have that horrible margarine taste to it but does have the look of it. 500g has lasted the full 2 weeks, I think because it is so spreadable you don't need to use alot to cover a slice of bread.I guess I wouldn't necessarily purchase this because I don't have high cholesterol, but for people who do...it's probably the best option for the ... MoreI've been using Flora ProActiv Buttery Spread for the last 2 weeks. I was a little sceptical about trying this as I've tried a few cholesterol lowering items in the past that were either bland or had a distinctive plastic aftertaste. However, this was different. It was in a decent sized tub, would last a significant time even if used every day. It was also filled to the brim which was a nice change- some only come halfway up the tub!It spreads well, collecting on the knife in satisfying curls which don't clump on the bread. When spreading it goes on evenly without making lumps or tearing the bread, even the fresh baked loaves! It has a buttery taste, isn't overly oily and it's flavour is detected through a sandwich without being over powering. There is no unpleasant after taste. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is because I personally do not use any kind of spread so would not buy again, but for people who use spread, this is a great buy!

My Father has always suffered from high cholesterol so I've always been aware of the possibility that I might also be affected. You'd have no idea that it was a 'health' product! It spread easily on bread and toast, and melts just like you'd expect of a traditional spread.I don't actively monitor my cholesterol levels so I can't attest to the claims that it has or will lower them, but I shall continue to purchase this product in the hopes that it does have some positive effect. It tastes so good that there's no reason not to!
