Designed for easy one-hand operation, the Fluke 114 True RMS digital multimeter is the perfect troubleshooting tool for go/no go testing. Its AutoVolt capability automatically switches to measure AC or DC voltage, whichever is present. The LoZ function helps identify so-called ghost voltage and prevent false readings. The Fluke 114 displays true-rms voltage and current readings with 6000 count resolution, and tests frequency, continuity and resistance. A large white LED backlight aids work in poorly lit areas. Its easy-open battery access door makes battery changes easy. Fluke 114 multimeters are independently tested for safe use in CAT III 600V environments.

Received this meter and it works just as I expected. Fluke is like a Cadillac -- once you use one, you can't enjoy the Chevy as much any more (exception: Corvette). The meter is accurate, the selector dial feels like a quality movement inside, and it works 100% as advertised. What more could one ask for? It's a great piece of equipment. Note: After being in aviation maintenance for almost 40 years this is the first Fluke I've actually bought for myself. I managed to get along using other peoples' Flukes, and always envied them when I had to give the thing back. Don't ask to borrow mine! :)

This meter was purchased to replace a fluke meter that was decades old. The old one simply died of over used--essentially daily for over 30 years. These meters are easy to use, very accurate, and rugged. It is the only brand that I would ever buy. It is a few more dollars, but I will die before this meter does.

I purchased a Fluke 114 multi-meter based on feedback from aerospace industry colleagues at work. I wanted to buy a high quality tool for use around my house, 12 vDC automotive and 110/220 V electrical plus conductivity verification. I own low cost versions that have failed for one reason or another. This multi-meter has all the functions needed to troubleshoot electric wiring activities I experience. This is a great meter and easy to use. The tone feature for ohm checking is a great feature for hard to reach places when you can’t wee the meter face, etc.. Well-made and reliable as expected from the Fluke Corporation.

Great meter for troubleshooting. RMS feature a real plus. Never disappointed with Fluke. Just a great meter.
I had this Fluke 114 multimeter for over 1 ½ years now and it has become my most used multimeter (even though it is also my least expensive multimeter). This multimeter has all the functions needed to troubleshoot electric wiring problems on buildings, ships, and airplanes and has the important AUTO-V LoZ function that many higher-priced Fluke multifunction multimeters lack. The AUTO-V LoZ function eliminates false readings that can severely hinder troubleshooting efforts. The normal multimeter volt functions have a high impedance input that makes it too sensitive for troubleshooting wiring faults. An open-ended wire under test that is near other powered wires will pick up the electromagnetic force fields from the other wires and show a false "ghost" voltage on the wire under test. The low impedance input of the AUTO-V LoZ function will eliminate the measuring of these false voltages. The Fluke 114 has the AUTO-V LoZ function and also has the normal high impedance volt functions as well.I have also found that using more expensive Fluke multimeters that have lots of functions can sometimes lead to problems when testing wiring. Sometimes a technician will accidentally hit the orange Function button, causing the multimeter to switch from measuring resistance to measuring capacitance instead. This caused us having to recheck some wire bundles all over again. My Fluke 114 is constantly being borrowed by other technicians and engineers that have the higher-priced multifunction Fluke multimeters without the AUTO-V LoZ function, as some tests and wire troubleshooting require a multimeter with a low impedance input.I have used several brands of meters and have found that Fluke multimeters are the best. The fast response time of Fluke meters (necessary for my line of work) is much faster than the other brands of multimeters I've used. Also, Fluke meters are very rugged and reliable and have good over-voltage protection. I ended up giving all my non-Fluke multimeters away and using only Fluke multimeters instead. While the Fluke 114 is great for troubleshooting wiring, it is not so great for troubleshooting and testing electronic circuits as it is lacking some functions needed for that purpose. If you want a Fluke multimeter that has the AUTO-V LoZ function for troubleshooting wiring but also having more functions than the Fluke 114 for troubleshooting electronic circuits, I would suggest checking out the Fluke 117 Electricians True RMS Multimeter .
Just what an electrican needs.Nothing more, nothing less.On my tools for 45 years. Take it from me.A must have tool !!
Sometimes you can "feel" when a product is made well. The Fluke 114 gave me that feeling when I first used it. It is much more durable and sturdy than any other meter I have owned. The dial snaps into place well, it is very dense and holds more weight than cheaper meters, the wires snap into place well. I use this meter daily as a fire alarm technician and it performs flawlessly. I use it to check battery chargers, resistors, circuits, ground faults, devices and more.Side note: The magnetic hanger attachment for this is a must for electricians. Also, The cases Fluke sells are of pretty high quality so I would suggest one of those as well.
Such a solid awesome meter. I got it for nice basic and accurate voltage readings without worrying about connecting the leads the wrong way, expecially if I let someone else borriw it!. I use it for hooking up trailer brake lights, testing them, and making sure power is off when doing electrical work around the house, that's when hooking up the test leads properly are extremely important. Next meters will be the Fluke 117, and 87v.
The 114 has the features I desired and omitted amperage measuring capability that is better handled by clamp meter technology. The included TL75 leads use a stiff plastic wire insulation and had separate tip shields that are easy to lose. They do not snap on to the back of the 114 case either. For less than $30 I ordered Fluke TL175 leads which use pliable silicone sheathed wires so they do not tangle up like the TL75 leads. The TL175 leads use an internal adjustable cover for the steel tip and are threaded for optional AC175 alligator clips.
awesome tool and will hopefully last me a life time! im working now for a technicican company. mmr. and will be useing this device alot. thnks... benjamin nichols
