I purchased my Fluke 177 DMM over ten years ago and it still functions properly. I just purchased this new one for my sister, and it looks and functions exactly the same. Its nice to see that Fluke has avoided the cosmetic re-design fetish that plagues so many other manufacturers -- now I won't need to learn how to use the new DMM before I teach her how to use it.

I purchased this Fluke 177 for my personal use due to working with Fluke meters in my workplace. I am an electrician and I work in electrical maintenance and I know how well made a Fluke meter is. My meter is used for many things ranging from troubleshooting basic electronics, house wiring, lighting, and working on RVs. I am very pleased with it. I always try to be careful with my instruments but it is good to know this Fluke is designed for the work environment. I would recommend without hesitation.

I bought the 177 about 1.5 years ago at the beginning of my sophomore year in an electrical engineering program, let me tell you, this thing has never missed a beat and is always on the money. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a quality meter. The only thing I would change is to add a temperature setting but that is addressed in the 179, it wasn’t a feature I thought I needed but I would definitely get it now given my previous projects. Overall, great meter, you won’t regret buying, but I would pick up the 179 for some added functionality.

This meter is American made, and may be the most accurate portable meter on the market. I I used one in a company I worked for, and now have this one to calibrate legacy equipment at home. .09% for DC and resistance. America is first with this quality!
Fluke 117 is a very precise and reliable multimeter. Back-lit large display is easy to read even in dark test areas and the analog bar graph adds accuracy when monitoring measurement changes. VoltAlert - a non-contact voltage detection feature is very helpful. Ergonomic design allows for one handed operation. A must have for every electrician or home owner. Also, great for school labs.
The device is built well and feels that way immediately when you first hold it. It is accurate and dependable with a lot of support available online. The device comes with a manual with very thorough instructions as well as some illustrations. The screen comes with a protector and the backlight works very well ! The image is clear and not blurry and the results are accurate ! I feel that this product will last years
I purchased this meter several months ago and it's great. I really like the capabilities of the instrument especially with the size, weight and feel in your hand.I also have a Fluke 87V Electricians Kit for additional capabilities or when a second is meter needed.But the 177 goes with me into a site and is the first reached for everyday use around my shop.I've been using Fluke instruments since first working in a laboratory 1975. I also have an(cient) old Fluke 8012A Lo Ohm capable DMM on the bench in my garage at home. About 40 years old and the battery is long gone but still working on AC for quick bench measurements.
Received the correct multi-meter but it did not come with a manual. If you look at other unboxings of this Fluke 177, they come with a manual. In contacted the manufacturer, they said a manual should have been included. Not sure if the manual was just lost or if I received a prior used device. Hence the reason for the rating.
Fluke is a top notch company making all manner of electrical and electronic testing tools. This meter does everything I need it to. They last for years and have a great warranty.
The only meter I've ever owned that doesn't go insane when trying to read the OHM load on speakers. It's very steady and very reliable compared to every other meter I've ever owned. Testing the voltage draw in my car on various harness wires trying to find a nice thick ignition wire. I finally found one and hooked the meter to the wire with the radio hooked up to it. There was literally no change in the voltage (to the 100th) in that harness ignition wire when switching the radio from on to off. So, I knew it was a legit ignition wire. When you're holding/using this meter, you just know that you're doing it right. Seriously
