Focal 165AS Access 6.5 2-Way Component Car Audio Speakers

my car had 5" speakers from factory, i decided to go with the 6" to get a bit better sound, but the change over was a lot harder than i expected. should have got the 5" instead, but great speakers either ways

I'm giving the Focals 5 stars because of their quality and craftsmanship and sound. Even though these were the wrong size(my fault) I am exchanging for the Focal 5x7. Which sound as good.

I installed these in my 2011 GMC Terrain SLT-2. I replaced the Pioneer Premium System with the 165AS Components, and coaxials. Everything is still running off of the OEM radio, but my goodness these sound great. The clarity on these are phenomonal for not being powered by an amplifier. Can't wait to install one, and hear these really play out to their full potential. I highly recommend these.

These are Focal Access speakers, Focal's entry level 2-way component 6.5" system. The 165AS is the current Access offering, any other model has been discontinued. These speakers list for $400 and are on Amazon, Crutchfield, Sonix, and other places for $349. Honestly, at $249, I assumed that I would receive an older model and nearly did not order these. But no, these are the real deal and what you will receive. Though they are Focal's "entry level", they are of course of higher quality than most brand's upper-end models. They have been in my 2013 Hyundai Elantra for just over a week, with probably five - seven hours of playing time on them. Broken in or not, they sound better than any auto speaker I have ever owned...and are not even connected to an amplifier. Focal advertises these as being so sensitive that they will sound good connected straight to a head unit. These are connected directly to the front channels of my AVH-1400NEX Pioneer via the crossovers. Honestly, I could live with this setup and nothing else. The tweeters are "in your face" as Focal tweeters are supposed to be. When played at louder listening levels, there is so much midbass that you'd think you had subs. But of course this is not my final setup. I listen mostly to Jazz, Classical, and Classic Rock. They sound so clear and precise, they are just incredible. As far as installation, they may or may not be a plug and play fit for you. I had to order adapters for the woofers (that also didn't fit and I had to modify), and use some creativity to mount the tweeters. Go to Crutchfield, they can usually tell you if speakers are an exact fit or not, I knew these would not be. I HIGHLY recommend using Stinger Roadkill FAST rings in the installation of these or any other aftermarket speakers. The configuration of the doors on my Elantra actually serve the purpose of "piping" the speakers into the passenger compartment and weren't necessary, but I did use the center section to place on the outer skin of the doors. Roadkill fast rings are sold by several dealers on Ebay, and pretty much everywhere else you order automobile sound equipment.

I really cannot tell a ton of difference with these. Also, went in physically 2 days prior, and was guaranteed a 10 am spot. I am from out of town and had an afternoon planned with my family. I went in that morning, and someone had just walked in, and was in line in front of me, she got my spot, the technician was assigned to her right in front of me. We sat and waited at my brothers house until 6PM, we called, and they said it should be done before closing,. When we got there, they were still piecing it together, while shutting down shop. They told me there was nothing intelligent they could say to make it better. That was it. Since then, my car died in a parking lot, because they did not tighten the stinger cable to my battery, left it loose and it killed my car. ... MoreI really cannot tell a ton of difference with these. I replaced my Ford stock speakers with these in the front doors of my f-150 and they are amazing! i would highly suggest Focal Brands!

I love these speakers

I replaced some pioneer components with these and wow they sound great . They are super clear and have a great soundstage . I am running subwoofer with them also . Very well built and goes with my 80prs audiophile head unit very well . I have them running on a kenwood m3004 amp at 50 watts rms each .These are the real deal too because ABT is an authorized Focal dealer and i called Focal to verify that they are real . Just really love how clean and clear they sound on my system .

From Sales to installation the staff was friendly and professional. Tyler did an amazing job with the install of the deck, speakers, amp and custom box for the sub! Sounds awesome! Highly recommend using Car Toys in Boulder!!

Iced Apple crisp

These speakers are awesome. I can't say more, the base hits hard and I can hear every pin drop. From Rahmsteinn to Hawaiian, these speakers hit every note. The tweeters take it over the top.
