The 948 are exceptional. The sound stage and clarity are amazing. The mids and tweeters are so beautiful but the bass is heavy and tight no need for a sub here. The bass really surprised me but what a great surprise. Voice and background vocals are true. I definitely recommend these.

Okay, I had a set of old school 901 speakers with equalizer hooked to a turntable from Boston with a cartridge from Brooklyn. Amp was 150/channel class D from Canada. Sound was okay but I did think it could be better. Looked at some speakers from US and the French ones. Being a made in the USA guy I was leaning towards them. Saw Kevins video on the Focal 948s. Saw the video on the US brand. The 948s were over $1k less than a competitor and less than the US. Spoke to Kat and she said she had the 926s and loved them. Still getting used to them but so far so good. These are a significant step up from my Infinity RS 525's from the 1990's. Using them as Fronts as part of a Home Theater set up driven by an older NAD 777 upgraded with the Blue OS dongle etc... Now I'm very curious how different or additional AMPS etc... might impact their performance....
I’d give two more stars if I could. Mine are still breaking in but goodness, these Aria 948s do rock. The bass is commanding and makes an awesome foundation for the width and depth of the soundstage and really has a nice weighty heft to it. The midrange is still opening up but vocals and images are amazing. Textures of cymbals, horns, drums etc are quite excellent and the overall perspectives of performances are enchanting at times. After 50hrs I opened up the gas to the Pass X250 on these Focals and was instantly enveloped by the warm clear life sized presence of the musicians and the recording spaces. The graciously provided Upscale set up and burn in discs and instructions have been an invaluable resource too. The speakers arrived quickly, but one tweeter was not firing on arrival. The team at Upscale put me in contact with Focal, who sent a replacement immediately and the problem was made right painlessly.I have the speakers paired with a Master 3 and R-27 from Audio-gd and everything sounds amazing. I have a short, wide room and had worries that balancing would be hard but these speakers seem to be very forgiving with a wide sweet spot. I don’t have wide enough experience to comment on how these speakers compare to others, but I don’t have any regrets in having chosen them.

Hi, I'm from Slovakia. I am 948 three years old and I am playing a Yamaha AS-2100 amplifier. They sat down perfectly and the sound, just beautiful. Such a small piece of advice - drawn and even deeper bass occurred when I placed the speaker on a marble / not granite / plate 3 cm thick. The bass is not transferred to the floor and the result - but try it ...
The Focal Aria 948 right out of the box sounds descent. Even though this speaker is very efficient at 92.5 Db, you need a stout amplifier to run this speakers, I am using a Bryston 4b3 amp running at 23Db gain. The sound is amazing, it is transparent with no added coloration in my opinion. The Lows are extended, who needs powered sub when you have 948. It is

They replaced an older pair of B&W CM floor standing speakers and though I have contemplated the new 700 S2 for some time, in the end I chose the Aria, which better matches my taste and expectations. Kevin helped me with details and suggestions, and I am really pleased with my choice. The speakers arrived in time and in perfect condition, due to extra heavy packaging in addition to the factory one. Out of the box I was conquered by their musicality and tonal balance, which continuously enhanced as the time passed and even though I got the Ah!
