This small audio interface does what I wanted. Allows me to use monitors, record with phantom powered microphones, record from internet sources, and record from multiple varied sources. All with low latency thunderbolt connectivity.
Nice product, sturdy to say the least. Unlike the Scarlet, the Clarett is more robust electronically too offering more routing options. One note, I would have the default routing to mono in to thunderbolt out.
Not much to add to the reviews praising the interface. Low latency is one great feature. It comes with Ableton Live Lite, which is more than adequate for my recording needs. I also use it for all audio from my computer, with great results (Yamaha powered speakers and subwoofer). The seller, as the product description indicates, provided a free 6' cable, that functions without issue.
I use this product to record into Cubase on my Windows pc. This audio interface easily lets you record analog instruments and microphones straight into your DAW software. With the SPDIF interface the unit can be expanded or used as a great digital input if you've got equipment that has that as an output. I use the SPDIF connection directly off my keyboard straight into the Clarett and it gives the cleanest and quietest audio recording into the computer.While the Focusrite "Focus Control" software is much improved over older version, it's still not as intuitive as it should be. I find it confusing to use. Bundle arrived on time in perfect condition. The mic is good quality and the Clarett 2Pre set up with Logic Pro on a Macbook Prod was pretty easy. It is also a huge improvement to the general audio quality of my system by providing a clean preamped signal to my powered monitors.
Awesome interface... There's only ONE thing about it that disappointed me, which is that it doesn't actually come with a Thunderbolt cable, and those things aren't cheap. I guess they did that specifically so the product would cost less, but just be aware that you probably won't be able to do much of anything if you don't get a cable with it (or already own one).
