The Focusrite Clarett Octopre is an eight-channel mic pre and AD/DA converter.The mic preamps have been designed specifically for the Clarett range with plenty of gain, yet low noise and distortion. They include a special “Air” feature that switches in an analogue model of the classic transformer-based Focusrite ISA mic pre, switching the impedance of the preamp to that of the original ISA, and enabling a ‘transformer resonance effect’. This gives your microphone recordings the air and clarity of an ISA transformer-based mic pre-recording. So far so good! Sounds great , excellent unit. The AIR feature sounds sweet and open, and the insert is a great feature. I was able to easily integrate. Brings an excellent additional 8 channels of "flavor" to my preamp collection. Built like a tank. Time will be the true test but right now it's a great buy.

So far so good! Sounds great , excellent unit. The AIR feature sounds sweet and open, and the insert is a great feature. I was able to easily integrate. Brings an excellent additional 8 channels of "flavor" to my preamp collection. Built like a tank. Time will be the true test but right now it's a great buy.
Great pres and AD DA conversion. Sounds amazing and feels way more powerful than its sister Scarlett. The stereo imaging is particularly great, with no cloudy space, you can hear the air around what you record and close your eyes and clearly imagine what it looked like. Only wish the headphones had a little more gain for tracking loud drums. Definitely worth it if your looking to make a major step up from pro-sumer type 1 or 2 input interfaces. This is a great investment and a steal for the sound quality.

Easy to set up, easy to use, sounds good and is built like a tank. Focusrite know what they're doing, and manage it at a decent price point here.
A most excellent experience..
It's easy to be impressed by the feel of this unit, it seems to be prety well put together. Preamps are clean and the air gives a nice lift to dull sources. Setup is a breeze. The big question is reliability, so having had this for a week that's pretty hard to tell, but so far so good!
Really solid adat expansion for my Apollo x4. The plugins included are also fantastic.
