Almost Perfect… But Still Worth Every Dollar

I bought the new 2023 version of this compact hack squat, and it’s great. Works exactly as expected with a few very minor things I think could be improved.1. Unless you’re around 6’3 or above, you’re going to struggle to get full depth. The bottom of the seat hits the bottoms for shorter people. One remedy is to use yoga blocks or you can strap on foam to the shoulder pads to mimic a taller person. Shorter people (5’8 and below) will need LOTS of padding to get full depth. The default shoulder pads in general should be MUCH lower in my opinion, or the seat should be shortened.2. When using 45 plates, they hit the footplate, so you can’t get full depth. The simple solution is to have the 45’s further out in the weight holders. Only thing is it requires more weight to be used as the incline is less intense. A true 45 would be nice and might even make the machine more compact. All in all, a really great, one of a kind compact hack squat that does its job. With a few tweaks (like the yoga blocks/foam), I’m able to get full depth and a killer leg workout replacing barbell squats altogether.

I can squat ~ 300 lbs for reps and can do 350ish lb -> 400lb on here depending on angles reps etc. If your ludicrously strong you might want a different one. Honestly though as someone medium-strong this is such good value Id still recommend to very strong people as long as your not doing powerlifter 1 rep max type of training ( which would be weird for a leg press anyway)If your reading this, just order this.

Speedy freight delivery, packaged well with no blemishes upon unpacking. Easy assembly in about 1. 5 hours by yourself (including unpacking and laying pieces out). High quality piece. I utilized the 5-8” holes in frame base and made a dual sided band peg attachment point which allows for increased resistance. I wish there was a set of plate storage posts somehow incorporated into a frame redesign for version 4, but then again, this would make the unit less compact. Since my deadlift platform is right next to this leg press and I have 720lbs of 45lb plates nearby, it’s not too inconvenient to load and unload. The footplate is a great size and having adjustments is perfect. Excellent machine with a few negatives
25 October 2024

This machine is well made and looks beautiful. Lots of adjustments to fit the user but falls short in a few areas (design flaws).Pros: super smooth, designed so it is easy to put together and is rock solid.Cons: 1. weight plates hit floor plate. (Solved by inserting 100mm spacer on the weight pegs keeping the plates outside) 2. Hack Squat shoulder pads don’t come down far enough. I’m 5’11” and can’t get a full squat without the machine bottoming out. (Solved by inserting a 4x4x9” block between the pads and the frame,or 2 -2x4’s on each, and buying the appropriate longer screws.Aside from those easy fixes I love this machine. Calf block works great and allows full range of motion.Ca

Excellent piece of equipment!
8 January 2024

I am thrilled with this purchase! I had been looking for a leg sled that was compatible with 1" inch standard plates for YEARS. I finally came across this and took the plunge. Couldn't be happier with my decision. This thing is built to LAST. Definitely heavy duty. Movement is smooth and the machine is comfortable. Lots of ways to adjust to get it just right for your personal movement patterns. I wish I would have bought this sooner, I look forward to every leg day now! Highly recommend!

Full ROM depth!!
9 November 2024

Not sure why it’s so hard finding a video showing someone going past parallel in terms of depth but this new version CAN. This was the #1 requirement for me so I’m happy to say that I can go ATG on this machine.Other than that, build is top notch as other premium vendors, delivery was ok (not much communication from their shipping contractor) and packaging was good. No concerns and happy with the purchase. It can handle plenty of weight so no worries about that either.

Great machine with a minor flaw
7 November 2023

Its a well built machine for sure, however when you lay the back pad all the way back to do hack squats you lose the smoothness of the glide. The glider frame should be lengthened with a 3rd set of casters to provide more support directly underneath the back pad. Another issue im having is the hack squat pad cant lower all the way, I'll have to sand off some of the powder coatto correct that. I do love the huge foot plate and it works great as a leg press and calf raise. Just disapponted im only getting 2 out of 3 exercises. I have only had this unit 8 days used it 2 times for leg day. Currently in communication with Force USA, hopefully we will be able to correct these concerns.

Great product that could use a couple improvements
26 May 2024

This product is fantastic for the leg press and calf raise functionality, especially the leg press. I’m able to get full range of motion and it feels great on the joints and back. The calf raise is good, however the metal on top of the footplate is rather thin and will become misshapen quickly. It doesn’t affect the functionality of the machine but it is worth noting. The hack squat is probably the least functionality of the exercises you can perform due to the limited range of motion. I got some yoga blocks to put underneath the shoulder pads and it feels amazing with the added ROM. Overall it’s a great product and I would recommend it to anyone who is in the market for a 2 in 1 or 3 in 1 leg press, hack squat, calf raise machine.
