First and foremost.. I’m so mad lol. I received this like two months after I got myself the PMD elite facial brush with the rose quartz on the back and that was expensive so I don’t know if I’m more mad that I wasted money or that I love the FOREO sooooooo much more. There’s no comparison. The PMD one is good and it’s cute but there’s just something about the FOREO that feels like a more gentle clean but there’s also a lot more silicone bristles that just do their job and I have a bad habit of grinding my teeth so it’s really nice that once I’m done washing my face at night I can’t flip the device over and use the massaging aspect to go along my face and try to use high vibration to workout and relax my facial muscles which has actually helped. However I love this. I love how it pairs to my phone and it’s so customizable for how you want to do your wash routine and how long you wash each part of your face before it reminds you to move on. If I really had to nitpick and give a real thing I dislike then I don’t exactly love how my eyelashes and little hairs somehow manage to not only get down in between the bristles but it’s hard as hell to get them out without fear of ripping anything off and running water through them doesn’t really help so it’s a whole process but also I’m a little OCD with cleaning my devices when I’m done with them so even one tiny thin eyelash being stuck in there makes me kinda lose it but other than that I’m telling you this is top tier for skincare. I don’t think there is any better brand out there for it. It’s a little weird that FOREO is based in Sweden and they advertise it so much but my product said it was made in china. But either way I’m in love with it so it don’t matter where they make it because it works beautifully.

Unlike other devices I have used before the Luna 3 doesn’t have a option to turn the intensity up for down depending on your preference having said that the setting that it is on is comfortable for me as it is not too light or strong somewhere in between. The only downfall for me would be you need smart phone to be able to download the app to register product to be able to unlock and use it, although I have that I don’t think it’s necessary as I typically wouldn’t download a app and/or use it regularly for a skincare device. I also feel sorry for people without this technology as they won’t be able to use it. Unfortunately all the other options besides the cleansing option like the massage option have to be used while following along on app, if you used this in the shower you wouldn’t be able to spontaneously use that option. After using my skin feels really soft and clean, my favourite way to use this device is after wearing makeup and incorporating it in my double cleansing, I have found it throughly removes my makeup and nothing is left on my skin after cleansing with my device.

Once you set up the device, with the app - you can either use it in tandem with the app or you can use the device independently with the settings you programmed. The big thing you program with the device is the force at which the device vibrates and the duration for each section of your face.he app divided your face into four parts (Roughly - forehead and nose, each cheek, and your chin/neck area.) I started with 10 seconds for each section and I set the intensity to 4. The first time I used the device, I think I may have been pressing too hard - you somewhat have to have the silicone bristles make contact with your face, but not press down hard enough that the body of the unit is in contact with your face. The Luna 3 started with my forehead/nose area for 10 seconds and then it makes a pulse in the vibrations to let you know it's time to move to the next part of your face. The process repeats until it's covered all four sections of your face. Since then, I have not found the need to use thse app much, as the device remembers your preferneces so you can simply grab it and go about your daily cleansing routine. You do need the app to reprogram the routine though.So far, I've been using this for about a week, and I use it in the shower after my daily shave with my regular Acne clenser. As a man, it's sometimes tough to gauge any type of change on our faces with what we put them through on a regular basis - including shaving. Using the machine does feel good, and I do feel that my face feels less oily overall with the acne cleanser I use with it - almost like this devices opens up your facial pores and your cleanser can do its job a bit better. I'm not a dermatoligst, so take that with a grain of salt.I'm going to stick with this though as if nothing else, it feels good on your face.Included in the box is the device, a carrying pouch (Gentlemen - the one that came with my device is pink), a USB Charging cable, and a sample of their facial serum. I have not tried the facial serum - as I'm really trying to get a gauge as to how it works with my acne cleanser.Overall, its an interesting little device that I do like, however it is a bit spendy for what you get. The app functionality is interesting and does make the cleansing routine easier to set up, but I suspect a bit of complication could have been left out and the device could be about half of the price. However, you can't put a price on good looking skin and this is where I hope this thing is taking me!

I've been trying to get into a more disciplined and aggressive cleansing routine for my face and the Luna 3 does a pretty good job of giving you a fun and automated means by which to do so. The silicone massaging bristles in particular do a great job of helping my face feel a bit tingly and invigorated after use which I definitely like. The only areas where the Luna 3 falls on its face a bit is in how well (or how aggressively) it applies product/cleanser and a bit of a niggle in usability. A small LED at the bottom of the device glows when charging and while in operation. The device is Bluetooth and app-enabled so you'll have to download the Foreo app and create an account (yuck!) before you can unlock and start using the Luna 3 (including registration which appears to be required). I thought at first that the whole app experience was making things far more complex than it needed to be, but the app really does help because it allows you to program the Luna 3 for different treatment types (vibration intensities) and duration; it's actually quite extensive but very user friendly.Once you've got the Luna 3 set up for your treatment of choice (the app even has some suggested treatments for various parts of your face), apply a cleanser to your face, wet the unit, start it up, and then move the Luna 3 in circular motions around your forehead, cheeks, chin, and nose. The Luna 3 will make a subtle pause in vibrations and flash the light at the bottom to let you know it's time to move on to the next part of your face. Once you're done with the treatment, the Luna 3 automatically shuts itself off...nice.However, the transition between treatment segments is honestly the one place where the Luna 3 could really use a little improvement in usability. At the default settings, the pause in treatment vibration patterns are so short and so subtle it was virtually impossible for me to tell that it was time to move on...I ended up burning most of my treatment time on 2 or 3 sections of my face before the unit turned itself off again. And because of the way you have to hold the unit while in use, your hand completely covers the flashing light at the bottom so you can't see that visual cue either. A simple tone marking the transition between treatment sections would have been VERY helpful. I ended up changing the vibration intensities between the forehead, cheek, and chin treatments in the app so that the transitions would be more noticeable--and therefore it would be easier for me to tell when it was time to change which areas of my face I was cleaning. But if you're going to spend THIS much money on a product that fancies up an already pretty mundane and simple task, it should at least be more self-evident about the way it is intended to be used (in my opinion).My Luna 3 came with a little information card that suggests you put the cleanser/product on the device itself and then apply it to your face...I do not recommend doing so. If you apply a cleanser to the Luna 3 directly, you're going to end up working most of it into the area of your face you first start treating and very little will be left to go to work on the other areas of your face. What's more, much of the product also ends up soaking down beneath the tips of the bristles and not getting applied to your skin. Based on my experience, you're much better off applying any lotion or cleanser to your face first, and then using a wet Luna 3 to spread and massage it into your skin. One last note...if you're used to a healthy lather with your cleansers, I'm not sure how well the Luna 3 is going to scratch that itch for you. It does a good job of working the product around and shaking up oils and grease from your skin and beard, but the vibrations from the soft silicone tips just aren't vigorous enough to really get a big foamy lather going.Still, the Luna 3 does a very good job of providing an even and consistent facial treatment that feels good and leaves your face clean and smooth. Definitely an indulgence, but one that actually works!

You always wonder if the claims products make are really truly real - especially with things you can't exactly measure (is my face really 99.5% free of dirt? who knows - there's no way for me to verify this!), but I can say that based on what happens after I wash my face with the Luna 3, it's definitely true that my face is able to more efficiently absorb products - in the past, I would add my products and I assumed they were being absorbed somewhat, but I was more or less mixing the moisturizer with my serum when I put it on my face, as the serum was still basically ON my face - but now my serum absorbs so quickly that my face is basically clean when I go ... MoreThe Luna 3 is *amazing*. My face also feels incredibly smooth and silky directly after washing, even before putting on any products at all. Since the t-sonic technology dilating your pores temporarily is why products absorb better, I assume that it's also helping the bristles get at that 99.5% dirt ;-) hahaha, but who cares - the point is my face feels amazing and I can tell it's better utilizing the skin care I've been dishing out for all along! On top of the cleaning, the massages are quite nice - very relaxing. There are four routines in total: eyes, neck, something I can't remember and an all over one. I've settled on doing the eyes followed by the all over one. Again: too soon to tell if they are doing anything, but it's very relaxing and as they resemble the ancient gua sha techniques, I do believe over time they'll have a positive effect. I started out with just this Luna 3, but almost immediately decided to dive in and get the UFO and then the BEAR - my routines are now: AM - Luna 3 cleansing, UFO masking (very relaxing), Luna 3 massage (also relaxing!); PM - Luna 3 cleansing, Bear, UFO masking. That said, I think I'll be switching the AM and PM and ultimately probably doing the UFO only in the evenings. Whichever way - I'm loving it all and do think my face is seeing improvements. I'm 42 and have generally done a good basic job of skin care and do eat very clean, but have never really done anything 'extra', I don't even get facials ever (I don't particularly find it relaxing to have someone else get handsy with my face... hahah) - as a result my skin is more or less just fine, but starting to show lines and the beginnings of the dreaded jowls (reason I went all in), and while none of this has magically 100% reversed just by using any of this for a couple of weeks, I do see the fine lines are somewhat less apparent, and well - I hope any slight jowling does in fact disappear! Bottom line: highly recommend the Luna 3! It's probably the one product I would most recommend if you can only afford one, actually. If you are having trouble deciding between the different versions of the products, Luna or otherwise, do know there are a ton of very detailed reviews out in the www which tend to provide great info that will help you decide.

Out of the box, this seems like a hip/modern product. Great packaging that sells you on this being a premium item, much better than just some plastic shell. This is marketed as being “for men”, but really can be used for anyone, nothing about this sticks out as being needed to be used by a single gender. The included goodies are also puzzling as it comes with a USB charging cord, a couple samples of face wash/serum, and a pink carrying case… just a puzzling color choice for a product made for men.I’ve had an electric face scrubber years ago so I was very interested to see how the technology has changed over the years by using this. This is YET ANOTHER electronic item that uses an app for setup and usage. I swear my phone now about one hundred apps, about ten I commonly use and the rest are for nonsense like this where you’re required to have an app to use but then pretty much never use the app again, even though I’d use the scrubber more if there wasn’t an app attached. Here’s why…The app makes you login, share your details all that, and now I’m getting multiple emails a day from FOREO which is over the top for a premium item and how many emails do I need about a face scrubber. The app is largely used for setup, it allows you to program a mode where you elect how long you want to scrub each section of your face. It breaks the face down into top, bottom, left and right, and you select the duration you want each scrubbed and the intensity. This is fine in practice but without even using the scrubber yet I have no idea what I want the time or intensity set to so you’ll have a lot of trial and error up front in establishing the one mode you get to use.One your pre-set, customized mode is activated, it’s the only mode you can use until you go back to the app and change it. Having a couple pre-set options would’ve been helpful. The app also has preset “massages” on it where you can elect a massage that lasts a couple minutes and the device will walk you through which area to rub your face as it vibrates. This is fine in practice but seeing as the device is waterproof and I keep it in my shower, past the testing phase I’m never using this feature. There’s no desire to go fetch my phone while I’m showering to do a facial massage, nor while I’m not showering to go to the bathroom and fetch this for a 1-2 minute massage that doesn’t even feel great.Using the device as a facial scrubber is where it shines. The grip is easy to hold even while wet in the shower and I’ve always felt like I’m getting a better clean than using my fingers and less damaging than a washcloth. I have very sensitive skin and psoriasis but this hasn’t been an issue to use. If anything, maybe a placebo effect, maybe not, I’ve felt it makes my skin look better and younger. As a result of use, my skin just looks tighter, but science shows that it should as massages/vibrations draw blood to the area of impact and if you’re drawing more blood to your face/head it’ll naturally appear this way, it’s not ground breaking science.All in all, the effects of use are where this device shines but the puzzling carrying bag and mandatory app with spam emails are where they fall short. Consider this when buying.

The app is what blows it here...

This is my second Luna product (started with a mini and after using that for more than a decade finally upgraded to a full size Luna) and absolutely LOVE it! As much as I loved the mini, I wish I would've moved to the Luna a lot sooner! My skin looks fantastic and have even received multiple compliments from coworkers (who see me every day) on how good my skin looks! The reason why I only gave it 4 stars is because the app is terrible. In theory, it's a great idea, but in reality its not very practical. If you want to adjust the timing/intensity of the unit you need to facilitate that through the app. But the unit also has to be on in order to access it through the app (somewhat inconvenient). If there isn't going to be a way to engage that setting on the unit itself it should at least be an option within the app. But regardless of my distaste for the app I would recommend a Luna to anyone! Worth the annoyance of dealing with that app to have your skin look this good! <3

Vibrating “sponge” for your face

I’m not one to do much for fine cleaning, typical body wash and shampoo and I’m done. But, I was offered to give this a try for review and I can say my face feels smoother after a week's use, maybe some slight wrinkle reduction, but I don’t think it has to do with the device on its own. The retail package only comes with a single use of the Foreo micro-foam cleanser, but for review purposes they sent a larger bottle. That in combination with the timed application made the difference since I started from nothing.The device is simply a BlueTooth connected vibrating “sponge”. Rinse it off and leave for the next session.Considering I don’t normally use a different cleanser for my face, this has helped create a routine that has truly softened my skin and made it feel less oily. But, I feel I could have done the same with a regular, less costly, device and a timer with this micro-foam cleanser. However, the pulsating of the silicone bristles does make it easy and relaxing. The battery claims to have an extremely long usage time as you are only using it for about 60 seconds a day if using only the button. With 650 uses per charge, that is practically two times a day for nearly a year without charge. I also found it odd that it is labeled “for men”, while it is black and bigger than those labeled for women, it came with a pink storage bag, unlike their default picture of a silver bag. It also talks about use for beards, but I think it is more for those that are short haired and closer to the skin.Overall, if you want an easier way to clean the broad areas of your face than scrubbing, this could be what you are looking for. Personally, it feels like some other beauty products in price and claims when you can get similar results without all the ™. I wouldn’t recommend it to a friend, but not a bad product if this is the type of thing you want to use.
