I am not a professional swimmer, but I have been using the Form 2 googles for over a month.The googles have good characteristics if you are willing to follow their suggested workout, however it has some important flaws if you want to build your own workout.1. These are good goggles. They hardly ever fog up and the seal is great. Having to buy a Garmin watch to get distance is unfortunate and pricey but understandable. My hope the goggles would read distance was fantasy and I get that now.Swimstraight calibration feels touch and go, but not in a good way. Did I do the calibration right? Did it matter?I'm unclear on what I lose access to when I move off the monthly / annual FORM subscription. For the price point, adding another charge seems gratuitous. My overall form rating is stuck at 99 and I have no idea what the system did to get that out of the 30/30/20/-/- that I've given it to eat so far.Being an open water swimmer, I'm forced to use pool mode for workouts and the pool length caps out at 100 m or something ... I like them, but there are a few issues. First, after a few laps, I can no longer see the bottom half of the screen. This can be fixed if I clean them with water, but I have to do this pretty often. Second, the stats are overwhelming, and it needs a better summary presentation. It took me a long time to figure out what some of the stats mean, and in particualar whether higher number is good or bad (as different scores go different ways). This is pretty basic and should be made very clear in a summary sheet. It seems this info can mainly be accessed only with watching these videos, but these are a bit annoying and time consuming. I would also like to better see my swim history and summary scores in one place easier -- like one table with the past 5-10 swims and with ... MoreI like them, but there are a few issues. One persistent problem I've noticed is that when I rest beyond the prescribed amount in my program, sometimes it will have phantom laps in the pool. It will say I swam 25 yards in ~5-15 seconds. It *SEEMS* like it corrects itself retroactively, but it is annoying in the middle of the workout as the total distance swam is inaccurate. Usually this only occurs ~1-2 laps per 1,000 yards. I hired a great coach who taught me in the pool, but I was so scared of swimming in open water. The darkness of the water caused me panic attacks several times. I then decided to buy these goggles, hoping knowing the distance while swimming underwater would help. It so much it did!!!. Because the goggles give me something to see while the head is underwater, the fear has gone away completely.Furthermore, I have a premium account, and the swim straight feature is unbelievably good. I can swim the course so tight because I know via the goggles how to swim in the right direction.I was not sure initially, but after confirming with the Ironman Authorities ... The fit is perfect once I took the time to try different nose bridges - it's great that they offer that adjustability. Setup with the phone/Form app is incredibly easy and straightforward. The app comes with a 30 day trial (at the time of writing) allowing you to really get your feet wet risk-free. The display looks a bit funky out of water, but they're meant to be IN the water! Once in the water, the display is clear and vivid without distracting from the swim. The coaching features built into the app look incredibly helpful, though I haven't used them just yet. The coaching features built into the app look incredibly helpful, though I haven't used them just yet. The heart-rate monitor built into the temple of the goggles works surprisingly well. I typically use a chest strap synced with my watch and have had mixed experience with it, but the goggles eliminate the need for one which is great. Finally, I love the programming options within the app. They make it seamless to sync your workouts onto the goggles for on-board instructions. No more having to keep count of laps and how many more in a particular interval, the goggles do the work for me! I'd highly recommend these goggles as a robust tool in your swimming arsenal.

The advanced training methods were cost-prohibitive for me to have access to long-term. Now through these, this training is affordable for everyone.......Features: You can load training programs and have the swim sets easily loaded into your goggles to push you through the sets. Drills and easy reference videos are available (Phone App) if you are unfamiliar with training terms and principles. All strokes are included.The display takes a little getting used to and can impede depth perception a little. Overall, it's excellent, and I wish this tech was around when I competed. It's a strong recommendation if you are a serious swimmer. Also, it has open-water navigation to keep you swimming in the right direction. No more heads-up is needed for the triathlon.Alternatives are unacceptable with this new standard. I look forward to ongoing enhancements & innovation.
