I’ve been using Dual Finish in Matte Clair (N) for over thirty years in this same color. It’s very fine, silky light, it evens out my skin tone with no breakouts. A great Medium to start with if you’re not sure. It comes with a soft pad and a sponge. At my age now, I only use the pad for the loose powder finish. I tried another baked powder by another brand and I loved the color but the darker pigments in it made my dark spots pronounced. This just blends them out. I love Lancôme DF, it’s a classic. I have good skin I keep it clean and moisturized with Lancôme Tonique Douceur alcohol-free it is a great hydrator. Use whatever moisturize lotion on top of that, then add Dual Finish. Then makeup. The Dual Finish powder has the best coverage of any powder I have ever used. It makes my skin look beautiful and flawless. It doesn’t take much to get amazing coverage. I get amazing coverage all day long and do not have to reapply at all. I have oily skin naturally but the powder helps my skin to not look oily. Application method- I apply Lancôme’s foundation or effacernes concealer first, then I apply the dual finish powder and then finish with a little bit of Lancôme’s starburst bronzer on my cheeks, nose and forehead. Love the way it makes my skin feel and look.

I have used this product for about 30 years. Every so often, Lancome goes through a phase of producing defective powder puffs that are supplied inside the dual finish compact. I use that thin powder puff to apply the product. (It comes with a thicker powder puff too, but that puff does not apply the product sufficiently for me.) The back side of the puff peels away from the foam and the foam itself is too flimsy to apply the product. The last 3 that I have purchased have been defective. I have even tried calling Lancome directly and the only phone number is to support their own online order department and they won't help me. Nordstrom has been very kind about this, and they would help me if they could, but they don't have any additional/spare thin puffs. For $50 ... MoreI have used this product for about 30 years. I was first introduced to it by a cosmetics clerk when the store was out of the yellow powder I came to replenish. As she applied it, the redness became completely covered - as if erased, really - and with no additional foundation or finishing powder, which were necessary after applying the yellow powder. This saves me a lot of time, and money! In addition, I have received many comments on how great my skin looks - not 'made-up' or cakey or heavy. I have used the dual finish powder in place of foundation for over 17 years now. I initially began using it because I did not like heavy foundations. I wanted something light feeling, natural looking, and easy to apply. This gave me fantastic coverage with the light feel and durable wear that I was looking for. As I have aged it has continued to be an integral part of my routine combined with Lancome skin care. In my mid-50s now, I frequently use LaBase pro underneath to extend wear. I wear a mask the majority of the day for my profession in an operating room. I still have coverage after a 10 hour shift. Cannot say enough good things about dual finish!
I have never used powder foundation because most beauty advice says it doesn't work well on dry skin, but I purchased this after borrowing a friend's when I forgot my foundation on a trip. I was so pleasantly surprised by the coverage and feel. Somehow, even though I'm in my 60s and have mostly dry skin, this does not settle into my fine lines like liquid foundation can. It's also more pleasant to apply in the summer compared to slathering yet another layer of liquid/cream on my face, and feels lightweight on. I have tried this using both wet and dry application and prefer the dry, it seems to give better coverage somehow. So fast and easy, and lasts! This will be my go-to summer foundation from now on.

This powder compact is a must have in my purse, makeup bag, pool bag...I love it. I use a shade that blends to neutral on my skin, whether over foundation or worn alone. It takes away the shine from my oily skin but isn't drying or cakey. It is fantastic to use sparingly right before a photo or a work meeting as it covers unevenness, redness, blemishes, and dark circles (be careful to not apply too much or it can make the undereye area look too dry). It's soothing to my sensitive skin and never irritates. With buildable coverage, it's like the perfect "everything" tool in your arsenal! I love it when traveling or having house guests because, in a few seconds, I can look refreshed before facing family or friends even when I'm not "ready" yet.
