It's not overly complex (compared to other space operas) but this solid, engaging and fun space mercenary romp was enjoyable from start to finish. I really liked the formula shake up with a tough, competent, female protagonist and the subtle yet relevant variety that inherently brings. I look forward to the sequels.
This turned out to be so much more than the pulp fiction time filler I was expecting. I actually really loved the characters, the awesome alien encounters and the building mystery. The writing wasn't the most incredible thing I've ever encountered but it was fun and easy to tear through.
