I recently purchased this amazing whistle and it's been a game changer! I use it for coaching my kids' soccer team and the sound really gets everyone's attention. It's loud and clear, but not too sharp on the ears. I've also used it at parties to get the crowd going. I highly recommend this whistle!

Purchased it to scare off the coyotes in our area when walking our small dog. So far, we have been lucky enough not to meet one, but have tried it outside and are sure that it will scare off anything as it is quite loud when blown full force.

This whistle works like a charm, loud and annoying! You can hear this sucker at a great distance! Give this bad boy to a kid and you will know their exact location in seconds! I don't recommend letting them do a test drive of this whistle in front of you. Highly recommend
I purchased for my use as a basketball coach. When I purchased it, I did not realize this model does not use a roll ball to recreate sound. It is the first time I have ever used a whistle without a roll ball, and it behaves differently from a traditional whistle. In particular, this design requires a lot stronger blow to create sound, and it is hard to just have a somewhat quiet whistle. It basically is all or nothing- very loud sound or not much at all. Though I did start to get used to this model, I still prefer a whistle containing a roll ball.
I'm not sure what people's problems are with this whistle. The best and one of loudest whistles you can buy. I used to have one when I coached and officiated back in my younger days. Nothing has changed about them. They are still great. I purchased one again to start a little coaching again. You just have to put a little air into it.
This whistle is pealess (has no little ball inside), so the plastic whistle makes a shrill sound that does not sound like a soccer ref’s whistle. You have to blow hard to get that irritating sound. Otherwise very breathy. I had to run to Dicks and get a whistle for my sons first referee game; I’ll get a better one on Amazon. I expected better from Dicks, a sports store.
Absolutely terrible. I'm a lifeguard and would use the whistle not only for that but also other sports. I've been looking for a whistle for a while and started asking around. Not only did I hear bad things about this specific whistle, but also this brands other choices they offer. I decided to go against what I heard and get it and I don't know why I did. All the things I heard were not only true, but the whistle was beyond terrible. You have to blow lots of air to even get a sound and the sound that does come out is high pitched and airy. It doesn't even have a ball. The lanyard is good and I plan to use it for when I find a suitable whistle
There’s two Fox 40 whistles! A slightly fatter one (this one) and a skinnier one.It’s sometimes hard to know which is which without seeing it in person.Fox 40 whistles are required by Basketball WA and all the basketball stadiums across WA for basketball referees.(I’ve had to buy multiple of these for my son! They seem to grow legs!)Unfortunately Warwick Stadium had no stock left. And all our local (other sporting stores had closed or had none.)Thankyou Rebel for having stock. Was a bit of a drive.The cord has changed from plain black to a much softer cord that has Fox 40 in white written in repeat across the cord. (Haven’t seen any other Referees with this. But hasn’t been a problem yet.)
This whistle makes a loud "whistling" sound when the user blows air into one end. If used at a sporting event, participants will hear the sound and usually will stop what they are doing if that is the desired effect.I have found that the harder one blows air into the whistle, the louder the sound. I don't know that such a feature is available on lower-end whistles.The whistle also features an attached cord that can be placed around the neck or wrapped around a hand. The cord provides a very classy touch.I really could go and on about the patented three-chamber design of this whistle but my ultimate decision to purchase this product rested on the fact that it was the only whistle in stock at Dick's and I needed a whistle that day.
