Bought it, used it to officiate a volleyball game, week later, it’s broken. Returned it to Canadian Tire, they provided another, the new one broke the same day. It’s either the whistle wasn’t built right or it’s just bad. Other than that, the second feature is like an alarm. But the quality is not bad along with the sound quality.

The Fox 40 electronic whistle is a great alternative to a manual blow style. Loud but not durable after one season the button that triggers the sound malfunctioned. This is my third one? Guess it's the cost of refereeing. Just wish it was better constructed.
Fox40 3 tone electronic whistle (red). Good selection of the three tones, is particularly loud, rated at 125 decibels. Haven't used it at ice rink yet, but from a couples tests outside seems like it will do the trick. The audio corrections on video don't do it justice for how loud it is off the front of it. Basically you can direct the sound to be loudest by pointing it in the direction of interest. Gopher Sport shipping and packaging was good, both whistles arrived in perfect condition. Even with the 3 tones to choose from, doesn't quite sound like my regular FoX40 Hockey Coach Whistle.
The batteries I got with the whistle were bad, the whistle didn’t work. I put my own batteries and the whistle worked, but the sound is not loud enough.I called Gopher they were very nice and were willing to send new whistle, the problem the whistle is out of stock and they don’t know when it will be available again.I did get it very fast which in 3 days.
Fox 40 makes good whistle, but with the corona situation right now, it’s hard to take off your mask, blow the whistle and then pull your mask back on. So this is very handy.The delivery was quick and easy, one little complain is your packaging is too big, that box could have carried like 50 more of the same product.
This electronic whistle is excellent. I use it on the soccer field to wrangle and condition 7-8 year olds during practice and games! It’s very loud. I’ve even thought of using it as a self-defense tool when I go running.
Initially I really liked the theory behind the multi tone whistle. It allowed the referees on different courts the option to adjust their tones, which would differentiate between the courts. Unfortunately in less than 8 times using these whistles, I have had two fail out of five. So it has turned out to be an expensive choice. Therefore I am not too sure I will continue to purchase this product if I get and further ones failing.
Excellent volume for a battery powered whistle. 3 tones are nice to have. Fits nicely in one’s hand. Battery compartment catch is a bit delicate. Battery lasts quite a long time.
