I have always been a small/medium helmet guy. My head circumference is 57....Which put me (according to the sizing chart) right in the middle of the 56-58 Medium size. After reading a few reviews here...I decided to size UP...To a LARGE. Really glad I did. The large fits my "medium" head perfectly. Because this helmet was in low inventory just about everywhere I looked...I even had a medium-sized helmet saved in my cart, just in case the large was too large. It wasn't. Perfect fit. Incredible helmet. Fit and finish is amazing. Protection with the MIPS and fuller-coverage over ears and jaw is state-of-the-art...But the helmet is light enough to where I don't feel restricted...Or stuffy like some full face helmets. Most every Fox product we’ve ever purchased has been on the small side of the size needed.The helmet looks nice, but it seems small for a medium helmet.The adjustment features are easy to use, the feature that caught our eye was the part of the helmet that goes down around the ear. We feel that this part of the helmet would aid in keeping the helmet in place for better protect is you encounter a wreck.

I bought this a few months ago and the Dropframe has become my go to helmet for aggressive trail rides. I like the secure fit and solid feel of this helmet along with more protection around the ears and back of the head. There are no pressure points or plastic dials like other helmets that become uncomfortable on longer rides. The venting is good and I haven't noticed any significant weight increase from traditional half shells I own. There are no adjustments so order the correct size based on head size. I wear a 7 1/8 hat and the size medium fits perfect. I love this helmet and plan on getting another one when the need arises.

The helmet. Excellent. Light. Great graphics. Fitment is Spot On!!! For me it is perfect. I’m a 56. Amd that’s exactly what the spec’s for a M are. This helmet comes with two liners. Original is with thin and an additional set of thick. I was a little nervous about fitment because this helmet doesn’t have the hookie barrel adj most all other helmets have. This helmet is MIPS. I’ve tried Troy Lee, POC, Giro….this is the best helmet I could find. It fits the best of any other helmet I’ve ever owned and it’s light, man is it light!!!!Shout out to Backcountry customer service. They are true Rock Stars!!!!
So far I really like this helmet. The fit is very snug but it feels very secure. It's not so tight that I'm getting a headache. Once I start riding, I hardly notice it's on. Visibility is great; this helmet doesn't obstruct my view in any direction. Even though it fits snug, I can still wear my sunglasses (Mau Jim Sport) without it crushing into my temples or face.Also nice that the package came with extra set of padding.As another reviewer said, it does feel like it will feel hot on a hot day. I wish it was designed with more/better venting. Maybe a bug net on the inside would've been nice too.Overall, great helmet. I feel well protected without the obstructions a full face helmet might cause.

I normally run a medium but I found that I'm more comfortable with a large in this helmet. There is no on the fly adjustment so you will need to fine tune your fitment by swapping the different pad sizes which are included. The colors/pattern are also super attractive and slick making anyone look just a little bit more like they know what they're doing. I read several other reviews saying to size up 1-2 sizes because it runs small and I completely agree. I bought the large as a gift for someone who is progressing to more technical (and therefore dangerous) rides and needed a more substantial helmet but doesn't want to look like a safety nerd with a big ugly noggin protector. He typically wears a medium in most brands and with the normal pads right out of the box the temple area was a really tight and uncomfortable squeeze. My head measures 56cm which is the maximum a medium will accommodate, but I needed a large for the Dropframe. I couldn't even get my noggin' in the medium. I wouldn't say the sizing is definitely off, however the Dropframe is a different kind of helmet, so it fits differently. Size UP.

I had to try the different thickness pads in various configurations to get it to sit right on my dome and it still feels strange. Also when I’m in my riding position the muscles on the back of my neck push the back of the helmet up which then forces the front of the helmet down causing the visor to come into my field of vision to a distracting level. It also pushes my glasses down. I find myself adjusting it on my head often. I’m hoping I’ll get used to it and it’ll break in or something because there’s no turning back now. As with the ProFrame, which I’ve owned a couple of over the years, the DropFrame is brilliant. Super lightweight, comfortable and reassuringly snug around your head; encouraging me to tackle increasingly more stupid trail features. Magnet snap strap lock is also fantastic. 10/10.
