Two days of riding and the issues I’ve had with theses boots are as follows: buckle strap completely fell off, stitching popping out in over 10 places, and worn through the grip tread(not the whole pad) on the bike side of the boot where I squeeze against the bike. Given these were all day and hard rides I have 7 year old comps that have stitching in better condition than my almost brand new boots. Super disappointed.

I have purchased 2 pairs of the Fox Instinct 2.0 boots and really happy with them. They are not far removed from the original Fox Instincts. The most noticeable difference for me was the increased space in the toe box. This has improved comfort significantly yet did not result in the toe box becoming bulky that would impede feel, shifting or braking. You also notice the front of the boot being stiffer in a good way. Buckles are improved. Would have preferred the buckling system had been taken a step further to those found on a few of the other high end brands, but still an improvement.

I had the older instinct boots from 2019 and they just finally gave way to where i needed to get new ones. I bought these as i read about a lot of the modifications and changes that Fox made to these boots. After getting them in the mail, and trying these i am beyond pleased with the upgrades that these boots obtained this year. Very comfortable, you can feel the support of the boot when you hold them and wear them. The size runs the same as the old boots which is a win. I will definitely be sticking with these again for years to come. Thanks Fox

I compared these against the Crossfire 3 srs, tech 10, Leatt. Gaerne 12/Tech 7's not considered as I've owned a couple pairs, but both absorb too much water. My criteria was fit/comfort, protection, and keeping my feet dry. Per 2 riding buddies, they would keep my feet dry, so I knew that wasn't going to be an issue. After trying on the Instinct 2's, I knew the fit was really good. Additionally, the protection (especially in the heal was improved over my Tech 7's that I use on the track). I tried on the Leatt, and knew that wouldn't work. Next was the Tech 10. I didn't care for these either. The last boot I tried on was the SRS 3. Typically, Sidi is too narrow. The Srs 3's don't seem to have that problem. I may get another pair for the Track.
First, for a thin calf and Nike shaped foot I find these lighter and more comfortable than crossfire, sg12, Predator, and any others I've tried. For skinny legs with no brace under boot the no Velcro top buckle make for a much better close than other brands. Comfort out of box is tops, best is the feel of bike, pegs, and controls is unmatched. They aren't as durable and comfort inside wears faster than super comfy gaerne but those feel heavy next to these. When on sale these are a best buy. At full price compared to other Fox needs to upgrade the buckles to be the best. The plastic ones can break or not close at times. Overall still the best especially when on sale.-m-2018 YAMAHA YZ250X--
I read the reviews and some said to get one size larger while others said they ordered their normal size; it was a coin toss. Fortunately Rocky Mountain knows how to do customer service and the turn around time for the larger size was quick, thanks so much RM.Out of the box the bigger size feels pretty good, a bit stiff but they are brand new. I normally wear Tech 7s and am used to a comfortable fit; still have them and still love them. The Instincts do pivot at the ankle enough to indicate they will be comfortable when I begin using them and should flex when I need them to.I really like the look of these Instincts. The boot flap can move a little allowing the buckles to shift where they need to and line up properly. The soles and side panel rubber seems quite rugged and should take a lot of abuse. They were on clearance so I got a discount but they are still a bit spendy. They also came with 2 replacement buckles.Overall I really like them out of the box and look forward to breaking them in.-m-2012 HONDA CRF250R--
These boots on the surface look like state of the art MX boots, but underneath, I found that they are incredibly soft in the ankle zone, and I suffered because of it.Please see the attached pictures showing the amount of dorsiflexion protection compared with my old 2014 Alpinestar Tech 5. In both pictures I applied approximately the same force on each boot (approx 10-15 lbs of pressure on the first test, and then approx 50lbs of pressure on the second test). The Fox Instincts folded like wet paper.I would have thought that a brand-new high-end boot would have better support than a mid-grade 5 year old boot. But I had to learn the lesson the hard way.If looking good and having a ton of ankle movement is important to you, then I am sure these boots are superior ... MoreThese boots on the surface look like state of the art MX boots, but underneath, I found that they are incredibly soft in the ankle zone, and I suffered because of it.Please see the attached pictures showing the amount of dorsiflexion protection compared with my old 2014 Alpinestar Tech 5. Price, fit and initial impressions were very good and i was excited to try them out in my first race of the year but after wearing them just once the coating on the inside has started to tear away from the boot in fairly large pieces. Contacted customer support and was told this was not warranty as "The product was damaged from use & it looked like a bite".I get that MX is a tough sport on equipment but i expected to get more than 1 ride out of them before they started to fall apart, should have stuck with Alpinestars.
I bought the Fox instinct off-road edition boot recently and only have about 25-30 hours total on them and the entire sole is completely separating from the toe of the boot back. I ride a dual sport Drz400 on mellow fire roads and such so I’m not hard on my boots so it’s got to be a quality issue. Never seen an issue like this from my old Gaerne boots or Tech 10s which I have to start wearing again now unfortunately. I’d expect this from a low quality boot but these were in the $500 range so it’s a head scratcher because I was expecting years out of them but only got several months. There’s a company called Nushoe that said they’ll repair them but it’ll cost $200. I plan to just put that money towards another new pair of boots just not these. Maybe buy a used pair ... MoreI bought the Fox instinct off-road edition boot recently and only have about 25-30 hours total on them and the entire sole is completely separating from the toe of the boot back. I bought the first gen instincts in 2013 when their sizing was a little off so I had those in 11. Have loved them since I bought them so since it was time for new boots, went with the same Instinct but excited to try these new Generation with the nice new interior and slightly slimmer ankle.Since they corrected the size, I went with a 10 and it was tricky. 11 I have too much room and although the 10 is tight out of the box, I have been wearing them around the house and it is breaking in slowly, 10 is the correct size. In shoes I wear a 9.5 nike and vans. I love all the brands of boots but I just can't ignore my love of the duratac bottom flat profile and light nature of the instinct. They might not last forever but I just love them.Tip! The light grey color is ... MoreI bought the first gen instincts in 2013 when their sizing was a little off so I had those in 11. Pictures just don't capture it very well but is neato! My hope is they fare better to mud than a plain white.
