OK, so my meter has not been giving readings for the past week. I called customer service and spoke with a representative, who said she will send a replacement meter and strips.Fine, as far as it goes. But then she sent me on to the "brief survey", which I agreed to. It kept asking how satisfied I was with their product, how likely I'd be to recommend it, etc. Well, since I'm not getting readings, I'm not very satisfied at the moment, and until I get a replacement meter - one that works - within the promised 3 to 5 business days, I can't give a very high rating. So i gave them a 6. Well that doesn't seem to satisfy them, so they kept repeating the same questions, and after several times, they just disconnected me.Do you see what's happening here? Apparently they're automatically disconnecting surveys before completion that don't give them high ratings. DON'T trust their online ratings, because they doctor the figures by not accepting unfavorable ratings.

Excellent blood glucose meter! I have been battling type 2 diabetes for many years and I would have lost the battle and wound up on metformin or insulin by now if it hadn’t been for this little beauty. It uses the tiniest of blood samples so you don’t end up looking and feeling like a pin cushion. It also has a memory so you don’t have to keep a log for your doctor...just take the meter with you to appointments. It also does not need to be calibrated...it is ready to use right out of the box. I can truly say this Freestyle Lite Blood Glucose Monitoring System has saved my life on more than one occasion. I have already repurchased this meter (when I lost my last one on vacation) and would recommend to anyone who has blood sugar issues, large or small.

Abbotts Freestyle Freedom Lite - well worth a little extra

I bought this to replace the same model I have been using for years, and first supplied by my GP. Abbots are recognised as the leading authority in diabetes care, and the Freedom Freestyle Lite is exceptional quality, and is well worth paying a little more than chancing an unknown make to save perhaps 20.00. my old unit must be at least 15 years old, and has only just started to be a little unreliable, so choosing the same unit again was a done deal for me.

Defective Out of Box

The first thing is that the Product was defective right out of the box with an Er 4 message and no way to reset/reboot. The item is also $2 more in store with no price-matching or ship to store option. A medical device that doesn't work when brand new makes me question the product's reliability. The company was great about sending a new one but waiting two days to test seems a bit off.

Does NOT work with Mac

I would give it zero stars. They don't tell you up front that it doesn't work with half the computers in the U.S. Then they won't swap it out for another one. Told me I had should a new computer instead. I would not recommend to any Mac user. It is useless to me because I can never see my data.

Don’t waste your time/money

I received my FreeStyle Lite device today. Should have gone by other bad reviews. 1. Lancet would not puncture skin to get reading. 2. When I got reading it was lower then I’d ever gotten before on ANY device. I tried the FreeStyle device to save some $$. Yes it’s cheaper but overall it’s a POS!

Freestyle Lite Monitoring System

I absolutely love this monitor. Its small so I just throw it in my bag or purse and take it with me. Everything fits in the pouch it comes with even room for alcohol wipes and lancets. Have used it everyday with testing twice a day and have had not one problem. I did find that testing in different areas left hand vs right hand there was about a 7 point difference after some research my conclusion is this is not due to the machine itself. Love the fact that it has a light in case your in low light or the dark.Only two things I do not like:1. Does not come with the plug to use with a computer (bought seperately)2. Paper log book (my work around use a app like onedrop)

The other people who wrote reviews obviously didn't know what they were doing because this works fine for me. No problem whatsoever.

The screen doesn't light up!

The small blood drop on the screen when you insert the test strip is barely visible, I cannot see the time & date info & the alarm icon is also very small. I have had several different DGM's due to my insurance switching the brand I'm able to use but this is horrible! Most diabetic's have sight issues, I wear reading glasses but to read the screen on this meter I have to use a magnifying glass with a light!

Unhappy customer

I dislike the fact that you don't get any test strips. You would think they would at least send a sample pack so you can try it when you get it. Haven't tried it yet. Have to wait until I get paid again to buy test strips. Not very happy, thinking about sending it back. They should tell you this when you order.Un
