I don’t know why this product keeps being reformulated. There was never anything wrong with the 1st version I bought and tried of this product. However, I must say, the current 2023 reformulated version has a type of alcohol odor to it that none of the previous versions ever had. I am not a fan of it. It flares up my allergies. Excellent quality of packaging, container, and pump. Although, because the gel is so thick it spurts out different sizes of product and that makes sense because it’s incredibly thick. The smell is unscented, a major benefit to me since i’m sensitive to smells. I use this for skincare, burns, hair, and armpits. I made a water and aloe solution in a small spray bottle for my teen to use as hair spray gel. Once you pump you’ll notice the feel of how thick the composition is, it’s amazing. My teen and I have added this frequently to our daily routine.

Fruit or the Earth Alone is now a terrible product. The new version is harsh. Do not buy this product. I returned the new version of Aloe to the store because I thought that it was a counterfeit product.I really liked the old version of this Aloe and used it for decades. I am very unhappy that I must find a new brand of Aloe to replace this terrible product. My family and friends used the old version of Fruit of the Earth Aloe as well. Now, they are very unhappy with the new version and are looking for a replacement also. It’s too bad that this company didn’t leave well enough alone.

Just now looking at my old bottle to compare and the old one says no alcohol on red label on top, 100% gel, Pure. No color added. This is definitely not 100% aloe vera as claimed, it contains other chemical ingredients. However, the product does not list how much (%) real aloe vera gel is contained.The ingredients / composition is also not the same those as listed on iherb (see photo). Perhaps they changed formula and iherb needs updating the description.The gel has no smell, with gel like (not watery) consistency. However, it feels sticky after use, like having a film on skin, which doesnt feel refreshing and even caused me to have mild acne.I do not recommend this product, not a high quality product with good ingredients.
I have read on many occasions that Aloe Vera could provide relief from eczema because of its anti-inflammatory properties, which is why I ordered this gel. However, the moment I applied it to my under-eye dermatitis, my under eyes started stinging so badly and they turned blood red. Although this is advertised as alcohol-free and has no smell, the stabilizers used in there might be a little too harsh for eczema-prone skin. It is NOT 100% natural, unfortunately. Other than that, the gel's quality is average when used on normal skin and provides minimal moisture. The size is large, so this is going to last for a long time, depending on usage.
