There is no substitute for large format color slide film. The colors are much more crisp than something like Portra. If you have good light, it's not hard to shoot. Even the greatest medium format digital camera can't do what this film can in 4x5. In terms of image quality, it's actually cheaper for me to shoot on used film cameras than buy an expensive medium format digital camera that can't do the movements needed for architecture and such.

After receiving a roll of Provia 100 from the lab I had similar impression to when I first saw a roll of Ektachrome: slide film is just a pure magic! Seeing the world enclosed in those little frames is really satisfying.But after scanning it with a flatbed scanner (Epson v550) I was a bit disappointed. It just looks too clean, saturated, almost like a taken on a digital camera. This Fuji film is, in my view, vital to the life of real photographers working in colour. Its colour rendering is so true to life; vibrant, clear and well saturated without being brassy. Moreover, it can be "pushed" to 200 or 400 I.S.O. without any loss of quality or graininess. I always "push" this to 200 I.S.O. and am consistently delighted with the results. This is especially useful following Fuji's withdrawal of faster films several years' ago. Just don't forget to inform your processing lab!

My journey in photography began in 1978 with the purchase of a Minolta XE-5 with a 50mm lens (I still have it today), and began shooting Kodachrome 64.Today I continue to shoot film. Kodachrome 64 is gone and my search for another side film led me to Fujifilm.I settled on Provia 100F. The colors are bright and true and I get that film look that I like.Try a roll or two. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
This is my favourite slide film. The colours are beautiful. It is slightly more saturated than Ektachrome, but a little less forgiving, so be sure to expose for those highlights otherwise photos can get blown out. There is a very distinct look to photos, just like old school slide film from the 80s/90s. The only bad thing is the price nowadays and the uncertainty of production. Stock up if you see this at a reasonable price.
I used an entire roll of this on one beach from the afternoon into the evening. The resulting images had great sharpness and reduced grain which I really liked. One concern I have with this film however is the colours. I have seen accurate colours be produced by this film, however I found my images weren't necessarily true to life. However, this could be down to develop/scanning and the fact that this was my second ever roll of film I shot (human error). I love the results that this film, and slide film in general, offer and I have a roll of Provia 100 that I am waiting to shoot, but the price means that it shall be saved for special occasions. The benefit that slide film gives to an image is worth it for me, but it's definitely worth considering carefully how all ... Among the last of the great slide films available in 4x5 format. Incredible saturation and contrast. Decent latitude (for slide film) I feel like as well. Very very fine grain. Fuji if you are reading this, please keep making slide film!
I've been using Fuji Provia 100F film for years for professional work. I can't say enough good things about it. Just lovely, realistic color. My only worry is that its availability has become erratic. May the Gods of Photography smile on us and persuade Fuji to continue making this wonderful film.
The best slide film I have ever used except for maybe Kodachrome 25. Even Kodachrome 25 couldn't match Provia 100F's ability to capture action because of it's low ISO. Fine grain and excellent colors. I experimented with 21 rolls of Kodak e100 and regretted it. Provia 100F has much better colors and exposure latitude. I'll quit shooting film before I buy e100 again.
Happy to see B&H has received a shipment of Fuji Provia 100F, in myopinion, the best color transparency film still on the market. The color, balance, and sharpness are superior to other slide films, and although I also shoot some digital images, I still use Provia 100F for my most important photography subjects.
